Worst thing that happened to me was during Iron Mans death while I was crying a 4 year old yells “Is he dead yet????”

Went out with friends once to a theatre, the day our sophomore year of high school ended. To save money, we all went to the theatre where all the movies go to die once their popularity from when they were first screened runs out. In the small-ish room there was only the four of us who were girls, a slightly larger and very loud group of middle school boys, and a middle aged man in a black hoodie. The man sat at the end of a row towards the middle of the theatre and the group of boys were more towards the back. At first, we tried to sit away from the rowdy guys and stay in an empty row, so we sat a row or two in front of the lone man. We were enjoying the movie for about a good 20 minutes, until things got weird. Me being myself, I remained completely oblivious for most of what had been going on, and only noticed something was up when my friends urged me to come with them and move seats to a row behind the group of boys. When I asked why, they subtly pointed to the end of the row on my side. It was so dark, especially because the movie scene was darker at that moment, that I had to look for a good while and really squint before I could make out the silhouette of someone. Apparently, the man who had been sitting in the row behind us had moved seats to the far end of our row, and began to possibly touch himself. After we moved, I made sure to keep my eye on that row we were in, and almost immediately after we all sat down, the man got up from his seat. It's burned into my mind how when he stood to look back at where we had sat, the screen lit up and I could see his face. He was bald and had very wide eyes, it was chilling and I was feeling increasingly unsafe. In this particular room of the theatre, the seats were arranged in such a way that there was a large T-shaped wakway that sepparated the large seating area and two smaller areas. He moved to sit behind us in the corner of the smaller seating area that was directly by the only exit. We all decided it probably wasn't worth it to endure another hour of whatever this was just to finish this movie, so we risked walking by him at an arm's length away to leave. We went to tell the people working the snack bar and they got the guard, but by the time they got in there with flashlights he had already left the building. We ended up finishing the movie and it was really good, but I still can't watch it again without thinking about that situation and all the what-ifs. Safe to say I may NEVER return to that theatre...

as someone who works at a movie theatre, the only weird thing that's happened to me was during a dead shift (because of covid) the staff and I were all just talking in a small group when some random guy came in, walked past the ticket stand, and started to randomly touch everything we had in the lobby. he even purchased a bunch of coins you'd use for the mini arcade we had in the lobby, but instead of using them, just pocketed it like it was real money. since I was responsible for the lobby/ticket area, I approached him and asked what he was doing and if he wanted to buy a ticket. all he did was stare at me, and get frustrated at the fact that I was suspicious of him. he claimed that I was rude for questioning him and that he didn't feel 'welcome'. I just explained that he had to scan/buy a ticket in order to come in but he was completely oblivious to the way of our theatre. at that point, he was so perplexed with my questions that he stormed out. afterwards, the staff and I notified the boss and explained that we thought he might circle the building and wait to strike me at night (mostly joking of course, but it was sketchy nonetheless).. the only real thing that scared me while working at a movie theatre is finding out the butter you put on the popcorn is just flavoured oil.

I have a real scary story ... i went to see a movie with a friend it was a long ass movie and i didnt really wanna watch it but my friend talked me into so we went...we were the only one in the theather room and when the movie was over we got out to a dark cinema lobby and the only light was from a drink cooler and nothing else ... as we looked around to find a way out we saw the glas wall that separated the cinema from the mall was closed .. we ran around in panic to find someone who could let us out but no one was there ... we sat down at one of the tables in the lobby and talked about what to do suddenly a flashlight shined on us and my friend and i sat there scared an didnt know what to do ... the owner of the cinema was the one who was shining the flash light and he came over to us asking what we where doing in here and why we are in here ... we told him what happend and he stood there with an angry look on his face .. wait here he said ill be right back .. he got into a hidden door behind the theater hall and we heard yelling and then the door flew open and out came the owner with a disracted dude who worked at the cinema .. the dude thought he could cut time if he closes up after we got into the movie so if the movie endet he could let us and himself out and could go home .. he entert the alarm code after he closed and watched the movie we whatched from the back room and fell asleep ..so as we got out we triggered the alarm and the owner came to check ... we got the scare of our lifes and he got fired ..

Right after story 2, an ad popped up.. I think my heart might have given up on me

I went with a friend to go watch The Purge. It had just come out in theaters, so the room was packed. It was in the middle of summer in California, so it was around 100 degrees outside that afternoon. Everyone was in their seats waiting for the movie to start when a man with black pants, a backpack, and a black hoodie came in by himself, walked up the stairs looking down with his hood up just above his eyes, and sat at the top right corner of the theater. He was sitting there emotionless with his hood still up just looking down. This was just a couple years after the Aurora Theater shooting, so everyone in the room seemed to be on edge. People kept looking back at him, one couple left because they felt uncomfortable. A few people went outside to tell management what was going on. I had gone to the bathroom, and when I came out I overheard one of the employees telling a costumer and her manager that she “checked his backpack as well as everyone else’s” which wasn’t true because she didn’t check my purse or the ladies before me. When I went back in the theater, a couple more people had left and you could just sense fear from everyone. A couple minutes later, two police officers had come into the theater and walked up the stairs to the man, they exchanged a few words with each other and escorted the man out of the theater. There were sighs of relief within the crowd. I’m not sure what he had in his backpack or why he was wearing a hoodie in 100 degree weather, but I’m glad nothing came of it. If he was just trying to scare people, it worked. But he did a disservice to himself because he paid full price for a movie he didn’t even get to watch. So joke is on him.

Never go to a small town theatre late at night, there’s too much sketchy stuff that could happen. If you can, go to a bigger theatre in a city or in a theatre in a mall, which is where my Family usually chooses to go.

And this is why I sit in the back row of movie theaters. Before the video even started I knew that would happen.

_About 5 minutes later, I see the man have moved from 2 rows behind us to the row directly behind us._ _He reached out his hand, and, I will never forget these words..._ *”Hi, I’m Parker.”* Apparently, the man was just an introverted guy who wanted to talk to us. I lended him a seat next to us, and he gave us some extra snacks and other food. Months later, we’re pretty good friends, and out girlfriends even got to know each other, so that’s pretty cool, I would say. _He was actually a pretty chill guy._

Ugh the worst thing that happened to me in the movie theater was when a super tall guys sat in front of me and when I tilt my head to see he does to in the same way

ever since the Colorado shooting, suspicious people in the theatre always put me on edge. I was at the movies with my brother once and I saw this dude that legit looked extremely suspicious. before I say anything, I'll admit I was totally judging him by his appearance and I know I was wrong but my terror was still real. he was also seated way in the back in the corner and had a TRENCH COAT, and a hat and he kept waking down to the exit and walking back up with his head down the whole time. he looked like that one kid in class that didn't have any friends (I'm aware this is nothing but an irrational judgment on my part) but I actually thought I was in danger for a sec. thankfully I was wrong

Watching Mr nightmare videos at 3 AM in the morning without anybody around is the best feeling in the world

It's always been interesting to me. These predators, like the guy from story 1, choose a location to creep on people but what if no one else ever came in to watch that movie? The guys plan operates under the assumption moviegoers will pretty much be alone at some point, so they have to make sure the theater isn't busy to predator, but they run the risk of no one showing up and getting a loan, so they have to sit through some dumb movie. I can just imagine the predator dude sitting there in an empty theater by himself, no one ever having shown up Al like "aw damn, no one to kidnap, I just wasted 15$ and an hour and a half of my life to watch this stupid movie" *throws up his predator hands in frustration*

Rule #1 never go to the movies alone at night. Rule #2 never let your little brother go to the restroom alone. Rule #3 always sit at the very top row.
