I hope people start to realize that korea is NOT like k dramas. Watching kdramas and believing it is the same as watching avengers and saying U.S is great bc it got captain america.
Its makin me sad that bc of kpop n kdramas, people are fetishizing a race for traits these celebrities have n in turn its bad on both ends. On one hand ; im sure asians don't like being fetishized. On the other, these people are opening themselves up to very dangerous situations. I like bts ; I also know most korean guys aren't gonna be like them, im not gonna be searching for the closest version to them. Im not going there for romance anyways. But I think theres definitely a lot of girls who will fall for all 3 of these guys simply bc theyre attractive n korean. People need to realize that every country has pervs n skeezy dudes, no one race is immune to it. I hear a lot of stories of foreign girls marrying deadbeats simply bc they sweep them off their feet n then they realize too late who they're truly with. A warning example was Seungri, the former member of Big Bang and his buddies. Since this scandal, I see Korea with different eyes. "K-Drama are as nervy to me but as K-pop too". The culprits are still not largely punished because of the corruption in South Korea. So I punish the country with disrespect. Who does not protect victims and does not punish offenders, has rightly not deserved any attention in society and in the world.

I totally got taken advantage of by one of those "shy" boys. He tricked me a couple times to get me in bed. He was so so so shy when we would hang out, and I thought he was super sweet and kind. The first time we slept together I was shocked by how he was in bed. He was super rough and acted completely different than normal (didnt care at all how I was feeling during). I told him he made me a little upset and he apologized so many times, so I felt bad and trusted him again. The next time we hung out he suggested drinking so he wouldn’t be "shy". I fell for it again, got drunk and got in bed with him.🤦🏼♀️ The next week he asked to take me out and I said yes because he was super nice when we were out in public, but after spending the day together he wanted to go to a hotel! I said no thank you, and 3 days after he suddenly "has a girlfriend now". Guys suck, any race 🙃
TRUST HIS WORDS. I had ‘run-ins’ with two korean men. Both of them were shy/innocent + smiling men. Such a deadly combination. And trust me when I say this, they were one of the freakiest men (NOT IN A GOOD WAY) I have ever encountered. One of my male korean friends actually asked me not to date korean men because ‘they don’t deserve me’ (his exact words). So remember, men are similar in every country when it comes to ‘engaging with a potential romantic interest’. Just tread carefully before giving your hearts and feelings to someone, irrespective of their nationality.

@W j what I have witnessed so far is that It’s a moment of pride for a Korean man to have ‘ get a foreign women’. I have hardly seen a native Korean man whose dating period with a foreign partner gets converted into marriage. Its still looked down upon by the elder members. Hence, there’s an intention of having a fling with foreign partners but then marry a Korean partner. Y’know, get some ‘different experience’ before settling with a lifelong partner. International marriages are more common with Korean men who have lived abroad for a significant amount of time.
