3 Days of Songkran Deep Inside Rural Thailand

When I decided to film Songkran, I was a little sceptical - how could I make the video more than just the usual water-throwing in the main hubs? Well, I decided to venture deep into a rural Isaan village (the least visited part of Thailand) and see how most Thais who live in the rich forestry and jungle celebrate the tradition. Join me on a 3-day adventure to a village where I was the only white man.
I was close to leaving this in the burial ground of videos never to be seen, but I think I have genuinely shown a different side not many have seen before (I think)

Were they like walking along with crowds of people with water spraying and ladies putting mud on your face? I went to Bangkok Songkran 10 year ago finding it fun, but didn't post the videos I filmed. I must have filmed 1000 videos over there, but kept most of them to myself thinking ah, I'd never succeed for hearing my own voice in recording embarrasses me. So many trying and hoping to be social media stars as to be financially fit to travel and live without needing to report to a horrible employer. I traveled for personal fun, but might would share today if I were going again. I know you probably have too many to watch as do I and don't need more amateur videos coming up in your feed.

4:00 when you watering people hands it called "รดน้ำดำหัวผู้ใหญ่" they do this on songkran days to pay respects and give blessings to the elders, when the reciever(elders) sprinkle the water to you meaning they are blessing you.

4:54 she said "หมอลำเล่นแล้ว" meaning the traditional music was playing already 7:32 "ก้อยกุ้ง" (small shrimp thai salad) 8:33 thai people didn't traditionally have specific breakfast, you can eat anything in the morning and call it breakfast. 8:42 if you want to say that you are hanging over just say "mao-kang เมาค้าง) 16:20 normally we say "เอาอีก(more)" 17:58 "มาใหม่ๆๆ(come again/see you again)" travel to Thailand alone is enjoyable, but to fully understanding thai difficult words, have some Thai friend that can speak English with are better. 😊

New subscriber! Your new channel has great potential. I understand it takes about one year hard work to get monetized and a good social media personality which you have. And of course about $20,000 to $30,000 for equipment and travel costs the first year or two so it's really like starting a business. I think if I were younger and had the initial outlay money, I'd be getting on a place soon for I was entrepreneurial when I was younger, but not so much anymore for I'm not a good at being an extroverted social media star, actor nor an executive. That's why I wanna watch you, well the content is fun. Fun and interesting experiences is what makes a subscriber base over time. So many channels, but yours is going upward, slowly but surely. Keep it up!

Mate thank you very much! I appreciate that a lot. I'm not an extrovert either! I'm actually very scared of people a lot of the time, which I why I challenged myself to do this for a project. Face my fears and get comfortable with people, because I love connecting with people, but I am naturally an introvert Looking forward to having you along for the ride!
