Good man! I Say another way to create the ring... If look the bottle you can check a line on one side of the bootle, grab a knife and leave slide the non cutting part of the knife, when you did arrive to the neck use much power with a single shot... In italian this name is "sciabolata" and used for open the champagne bottle, search it! :D Sorry for my bad english
+Karenastuff It is possible to melt glass together using a kiln. You can also use a combination of kiln and then a blowtorch to melt the glass together. I have never tried it, so I don't know how good it works. I am actually thinking to get one of those microwave kilns to play around.
