Sorry ladies but i just bought 3 of the new 10 pan palettes at my Walgreens. I didn't didn't buy any of the quads. I bought Comfort Zone, Not a Basic Peach, Rose in the Air. That's the ABH dupe. I paid $4.99 each. They are really nice. Happy i bought them.
BYS is so underrated here down under, they have some hit and misses and theyre stuff from ten years ago wasnt the best but theyve stepped up their game so much and alot of their stuff is really great, theyre affordable which in australia isnt common with our makeup prices haha and like you said cruelty free! So cool to see not only someone talking about the brand but someone from america, so cool! Also while im here commenting I would love to see either Ancient Aztec or Japanese geisha esque makeup! :)
Yay for Drugstore December, dupes, and cruelty free! I picked up this Profusion palette recently from Target and I'm loving it so far! $6.99 comes with a double sided brush and mirror. Can't beat that.

Could you do a drugstore starter kit for a young teenager? My little sister's birthday is Dec. 27 and she is having a hard time transforming from little kid to young lady. I thought it be a good B-Day/X-mas gift. Something cheap with a lot of room to experiment w/o being overwhelming, a Morphe palette comes to mind.
Destiny Phillips is go for the make up revolution dupe of the kat von d shade and light it's just as good and you can get tons and tons of looks from it!! M.u.r. also has dupes of all the too faced palettes also!!! It's a great brand they have them all at ULTA ❤❤
Destiny Phillips I also recommend the Makeup Revolution brand at ULTA. I use their shade and light palette and I love it. I have noticed that their formulas are a tad dry, but they're amazing and a really good price.
You should look into bh cosmetics! They have tons of affordable makeup and brushes. Even with my high end makeup, I always end up reaching for some of their shadows.
I was able to pick up the BYS Berries palette at Ross today for 6.99 today for my sister in law. So glad I watched your video so I didn't have to worry about pigmentation. We took my boys out to shop for everyone and thats one of her gifts from them😊

I finally cracked open my Beauty Creations palette today. The pink colors are beautiful and the shadows are a dream to apply. I highly recommend buying this one.

Other channels deliberately either give more forgiving lighting to the high end brand or the dupes but you never do❤ When i purchase the products YOU recommend i am never dissapointed.

The setting powders from BYS are great as well. You should try it out. It doesnt flashback and it really helps control the oil. Not good for dry skin tho, it settles into the patches of dry skin.

I love your frugal fridays and your recomendations as well. i feel like you know your make up. one of my favorite tips is the dunking the face in ice water. Its a reliable trick when done right haha also in your video reviewing L.A. colors when you sprits your brush for the metalic shadow and you said "one spray, that's all you need" when a all the other beauty gurus waste products with like 10 sprits. like girl you use 10 sprays because you put your brush so far from the bottle. any ways love your content! thank you !
I have the profusion one and I love it, I agree the pigment is lighter but I think that's great for beginners who are learning blending. They are smooth and don't skip,they last all day. A little more work but for 7 bucks it's a total win in my book
I'm strictly high end makeup but I enjoy all the videos by Zabrena so I watch to learn more about looks she creates and find it fascinating to learn of the lower cost dupes so people of all economic means can enjoy some quality fun palettes. The reviews on this channel are Just exceptional and I appreciate the obvious time and effort that goes into each one! This one even tempted me to use my prime even more to pick up a dupe once I look into where it's made to replace my MR one- I gave my modern renaissance to my 16 year old niece after having it for five months never opening it save to admire the colors. I want her and my 8 year old who loves to play with makeup to only use quality cruelty free makeup that I know the brands and the ingredients and where they were made and with what kind of labor particularly as we are all three educating ourselves (me on the latter particularly). I personally wouldn't buy Makeup Revolution if I could only afford lower priced items as reputation due to Kat Von D noting what she saw as the theft hers and others intellectual property for design etc. but again that's an issue I'm trying to learn more about as I want to be a consumer that eschews price for quality brand reputation ingredients etc. Fun video and all three looks were just marvelous!
So the reasons (I imagine) that there usually isn't too much trouble when a company dupes another company, are 1) you can copyright a name, but you can't copyright a set of colors or a theme (I do believe you can copyright a single color--ups brown for instance, or perhaps a couple if your logo contains two colors, but not say, a set of 14 colors) and 2) a lot of makeup companies are all owned by the same parent company. L'oreal owns a number of brands in sephora, and there are others like this, so whether you buy the $50 palette or the $15 palette, they're getting the money. 3) I can't imagine dupes do a lot of damage to a brand? the whole point of branding is that it makes you feel like you can trust the brand or the product. Your average consumer is not going to buy a random unknown brand's $50 palette. They will buy ABH, if they're familiar with the other products in the line (subculture excluded). It's not like you're selling dollar store makeup as ABH, you're selling eyeshadows with a similar theme. 4) they aren't stealing proprietary formulas or copyrighted material, so even if they could do something about it via the legal system, it would likely be more expensive than it's worth, and may not even have the desired outcome. The brand is worth far more than any particular item or idea, so as long as they're not damaging the brand, it probably won't matter enough to take action.
I enjoy your videos. I have recently started wearing makeup again. I was very sick and it took all I could do to shower and put my clothes on. Since I feel better, I want to look better too. You do a great job!
