I bet Stickles or glitter glue would be a nice inexpensive choice for filling in some of those dots.

Hi Lindsay! I’ve been following you for several years, but not as consistently as I would like to. When I do watch, I always learn something new and I’m never disappointed. I particularly enjoyed this one since I am just getting started with card making. I have lots of beads, buttons, ribbons, and other embellishments because I also do crazy quilting. I have purchased quite a few stamps over the years, mostly when I find nice ones on sale. I’ve used some of them a few times, but I'm eager to get in deeper with all of it now. Question: I received an extensive set of quilling supplies last Christmas, but have not done much with them. Do you have any videos where you show quilling, especially on greeting cards? Keep up the wonderful job you are doing of instructing and inspiring! You are a treasure!! 🥰

Hi Lindsay! I use different tools for lifting rhinestones and little paper pieces. - For me, the simplest tool to lift those self-adhesive pearls is a cutting knife. It`s thin enough to get under the adhesive of the pearl or rhinestone and then I slide the pearl with one finger from the tip of the blade to the place of choice. - As to picking up little embellishments, I sometimes use a toothpick and I form a glue dot from some double-sided adhesive and I manipulate it around the tip of the toothpick. - You can also take an old pencil or something similar and wrap some masking tape around the tip by twisting and turning the tape and forming it into a tip in such a way that the sticky side is turned to the outside. So everything you touch with the tip sticks to it. I hope you can make any sense of my badly used English. Thank you for the inspiration and the nice cards :) Have a beautiful day :) Josi

Something else you or your viewers may want to consider using (as gemstones are really beautiful - but can get pricey!) - are sequins! I love hunkydorey (I live in the U.K.), & although I’m saving money to buy further pieces of larger equipment (die cutting machine etc), sometimes it’s just nice not to ‘think’ but still create something beautiful yet useful. I’ll often buy the hunkydory paper / card packs (Including the dot to diamonds ones !) & I’ll purchase a few different packs of sequins online, eBay do them really cheap. I just use some simple PVA glue & pop them down with tweezers & they give a really lovely effect ☺️ Lovely video as always! Lovely to see hunkydory making its way around crafting channels. x

Hi Lindsay, Hope all is well with you and your family. Thank you so much for all the information and enjoyment you bring to my life. I watch you almost every day and when I miss a video I'll watch it the next time you post. I use my Small pointy scissors to pick them up and to place them in place. I think this is the best controlled way to add to my cards. Thanks again

What a great idea for folks who don’t want to go full tilt into cards! I have a gene that prevents me from knowing the difference between ‘enough’ and ‘too much’. I got that gene from my mom☺️ I do have to be very careful about what I choose to get into. 70+ tubes of watercolor paint and haven’t painted the first real painting! But I can swatch like a fiend...

Love to see you using stuff from british companies. Hunkydory do so many wonderful and good quality products. P.s uk postage is by size and weight but it doesnt matter if a card is square or rectangle.

I have put a slightly angled (almost straight) blade in my craft knife. I slide it under the gem and easily place it on my card. This also works well for those gems that are in a glue line....you can cut the glue with the knife and then pick up the gem on the tip and place it on your card.

Sweet! Thanks for this one! I'm scavenging stamps at the thrift store to get the most bang for my buck! It sure can be overwhelming and expensive though, so I've got half a plan evolving so that I might even get Christmas cards out in the mail this year!

Lindsay I use the spatula end of a Stampin Up Take Your Pick tool or the tip of my small fussy cutting snips. The tip of a butter knife would work in a pinch for those without every tool out there. :) Scooping up under the adhesive of the bling before moving to your card and press it down makes it a bit less tedious.

Love the cards, I use my craft pick to pick them up, I tried my crystal katana, but they fly everywhere... So I gently bend the plastic sheet and use the craft pick to lift them off. Works the best for me.

or you can just use nuvo drops or any glitter drops, that works too, but the drying time is where it gets hard for me.

I have success using a piercing tool or pick/pokey tool to pickup my adhesive backed items. It's also amazing for placement, just put the tip were you want it, with the item on it, with the adhesive facing down. Put your finger on top and remove the piercer. I plan to go back and re watch stamp school soon. What about a series like stamp school in all of the categories you know.

Very pretty cards! I’ve never heard of this company before so thank you for introducing them to me! For the sticky pearls or gems, I use my “pokey tool” (or you can use an awl) and slip the pointy tip under the pearl or gem and then apply it where I want it using it right from the pointed tip! It’s super easy that way and I don’t need to worry about them getting stuck under my nails! I hope that helps you!! Thank you for sharing this with us! 💜 (Edited to say that usually I check the comments before asking a question to see if it’s there, but I clearly didn’t do that to answer your question!! 🙈🙈🙈 I was so excited to be able to be helpful to you, that I just dove in and answered!)

Hi Lindsey! Great cards. I love them but I tend to shy away from dimensional bling because of mailing. I was introduced to Pergamano years and years ago so I tend to reach for a piercing tool when applying anything with a sticky back like the gems or foil outline images I know by the Paperwishes name of 'dazzles'. I love those stitching dazzles. Thanks.

Use a pokey tool for transferring to your card, it lifts them up enough to release them from the paper. I love dragonflies, they are so beautiful, I’m going to get a tattoo of one on my foot with Mum & Dad entwined in the wings.

Oh, those pesky stick-on embellishments! I love using them on my cards, but they can be frustrating. And, keeping the rhinestones and pearls for several years is a no-no. The adhesive gets ugly and they don't want to come off the acetate sheets, or if they come off, the adhesive stays on the sheet!! The tools designed to use on these stones don't work worth a hoot. Fingernails and a good set of tweezers work best, at least for me. Thanks for sharing. I love the Christmas card!!
