Killing 10 mobs with 2 percent drop rate doesnt make the percent rate to rise to 20. If a monster has 1 percent chance of dropping one item, killing 100 of this type of monsters will not give you the item. The percent is the same always, what changes is the number of times you are trying to trigger that percent to manifest into reality.
After 10 kills there's an 81.7% chance of them NOT dropping and that chance will continue to go down with each attempt. TLDR 10 kills gives you an 18.3% chance of the item dropping.
@@TBoNAtl That is not how reality works. Anyone who's farmed for a low % drop item or played gacha knows this is always wrong. The chance of not getting it never changes. You can kill a thousand mobs for a 1% drop chance and still never see the item. You won't get it eventually. You can and will farm for something and never see it. Just because you keep killing the same mob over and over it will never change your chance of getting or not getting an item.
@sparhawk2195 WoWmath is hitting hard in these comments. I'll try to explain this better. It's true that with a 2% drop rate, every time you kill a mob there is a 98% chance of not getting the drop. However, the chance not getting the drop over 10 kills IS NOT 98%. It's 0.98^10 = 0.817 or 81.7%. It's basic cumulative probability. That means that over the course of 10 kills there's an 18.3% chance of getting the drop. If this wasn't the case you'd never know what the drop rates are.
@@TBoNAtl thats not the case. Is it possible to kill a mob 100 times with 2 percent drop chance and not get the item? If its possible then which it is then your math is wrong
@@ΙοΙοα-σ1κthe odds of you not getting the drop after x amount of kills is .98^x, if you put this into a graphing calculator you will see it is entirely possible to never get the drop but also very unlikely. Or conversely enter 1-.98^x and you will see it approaches 1(100 percent drop chance) but if you are knowlegable on limits you will know that there is a realm where you could kill an infinite number of mobs and never get the drop. Look up limits or some advanced algerbra on youtube and that might help. His math isnt wrong you just dont understand.
Well you can calculate what are the chance of killing 20 mobs and not having them drop as (1-0.02)^20 = 0.66 so the chance of killing 20 mobs and having the braces drop is (1-0.66)=33 %
@@OdysseyWorks Killing 1 would be a 2% chance. Killing 20 would be a 2% chance 20 seperate instances. so drop rate is still 2% in the end. statistics show how many people got that lucky 2%, not your chances of obtaining it.
I'm not sure how people keep fucking this up. A 2% drop rate means you'll probably have to kill about 50 mobs on average to get the drop. That's literally where the 2% came from. Therefore, if you kill 10 mobs you have a 18.3% chance to get the 2% drop.
no 10 of them is not 20% it is 18% but yeah i get you're point but also its not 2% its 1.9 according to wowhead which is also not accurate so we are probably closer to a 17.98% chance and you will have other ppl competing
