What about using thinsel brite instead of cotton batting. I’m not sure all of the spelling is correct but I’m pretty sure you will know what I’m asking. I hope you and your family are ok from the hot air.

Hi Betty. I don't use it very often in pot holders. But I do use it in oven mitts. The Insul-bright package instructions say to use 1 layer of cotton batting and 1 layer of Insul-bright. It doesn't matter which one is on top. They are placed in between the fabric for the top and bottom. Hope this helps. Glad you liked the pot holder tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍

Hi Sherrill. I have a question. In the video when you talk about cutting the fabric for the binding, first you said 2 inches wide but then when giving the cutting instructions you mention 2.5 inches wide. Is one size better than the other, does it matter, or was that a blooper? Thank you so much!
@TheSewingRoomChannel
@TheSewingRoomChannel Год назад
Hi Lisa. I think that was a blooper - LOL. Some people cut their bind 2" wide. But my favorite is 2.5". Cut it the size you like the most. Hope this helps. Glad you liked the pot holder tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍

can i use wool felt sheets instead of cotton batting? i just hapen to have felt but no batting and don't live near a fabric store.
@TheSewingRoomChannel
@TheSewingRoomChannel 10 месяцев назад
Hi Kriss. I don't recommend felt because it is not 100% cotton. You can cut up old towels and use that as long as the towel is 100% cotton. You can purchase cotton batting on the internet -- joann.com, walmart.com, amazon.com. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗and happy holidays😍

@TheSewingRoomChannel

I use Warm and Natural. You can also use 1 layer of Insul-Bright with 1 layer of cotton batting. The Insul-Bright blocks the heat. You can get it at Joann Fabrics and Crafts and amazon.com. Glad you liked the pot holder tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍

Hi Susan. Use one layer of cotton batting and one layer of Insulbright. It does not matter which order they are placed in. The cotton batting and Insulbright are place in between the top fabric piece and the back fabric piece. Hope this helps. Glad you liked the pot holder tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍
