Procedures, procedures, procedures... This is my first year teaching 6th grade (8 years teaching high school) and it consistently surprises me how often I must re-emphasize the little things like writing names on their paper, putting things away, etc. A good way to drill this in is saying this in the same rhyme, tone, or style everyday so it becomes second nature. PS: You are almost to 1000 subs! Nice channel, especially for first-year teachers.
This is sooooo true!!! One fun thing I actually have my students do is tell me what are some things they always hear me say...it always ends up being procedural things like "write your name on your paper" "wash you hands" "start your warm up" 😹 so I know they hear me! Thank you for being hear...and welcome to 6th grade Math! It's really one of the best ages around!
