I think one other thing designers should do to attract their prospective clients is to choose and deeply understand their niche. I've come to learn that most of my prospective clients only care about my design skills after I have proven to them that I have a deep understanding of the problems they are going through and that I can provide a solution to them, and sometimes the solution isn't always design related, so I've had to acquire secondary skills to help attract more prospective clients.
Getting clients is the hardest thing to do when starting. A lot of us give up early on this stage. What do you recommend when things seem to be going nowhere for months?
I recommend re-assessing what strategies you are using and seeing what part of the cycle you need to work on. Is it the outreach? Is it the message? Is it your design skills? It often gets generalized to being everything, when really it is usually just one thing that is off.
I know that IG can be super annoying and frustrating. Just keep creating content for the right people and your followers will grow and so will your reach. It’s not about numbers but quality of followers, meaning being your ideal clients.
