Put your camera in your bag or case and leave it there when come back inside until it warms up, to prevent condensation buildup ❄️

Yeah, that's a REALLY essential tip that I missed in the video. A tip that can save you thousands of dollars in humidity damage.

Don't forget the mini-windshield wipers for your glasses when snowing!

I would laugh at that until I needed glasses. 🤣

Someone recently spoke about putting hand warmers in the camera bag. Will give it a go this season.

Great tips Dave. Silk liner gloves are a worthwhile inexpensive addition to a good set of gloves. Handwarmers are also worthwhile.

Standing and waiting for Northern Lights in Sweden made me invest in a lens heater. During one night in November, the air had just a tiny bit more humidity and it made the glass on the lens to fog up. Unfortunately, I didn't notice it right away so at one point into the shoot, 50 shots had waaayyyy too much softness than I desired. But now I have a heated strap around the lens, hooked up to a 10000 mAh battery and that will last the whole night. And you have the option to put the lens heater in your gloves, if it gets really cold.

Strap-on Ice spikes for your feet & or snow shoes plus, (after watching this) clean your spectacles before checking focus.

Traction is very important. I have had more than a few close calls slipping with camera gear in hand. :)

Re tripods in cold weather - I prefer twist locks to flip locks. I find them easier to deal with when using gloves, plus I wonder if flip locks might be more susceptible to snapping in frigid temperatures.

I do prefer twist locks myself. I haven't had any experience with flip locks breaking but that is a concern.

That's funny. i was just thinking you were going to say "zip your coat up". But, actually you can get too warm and need to let a little heat out. I've always had a problem finding the "perfect" gloves. Too thick and it's hard to handle a camera. Too thin and your hands can get cold. I just go with thin and put my hands in my pockets a lot. I started out with aluminum tripods. And, yes, your bare hands can stick to aluminum in the cold just like the kid who got his tongue stuck to the flagpole.

Will Sony release mark 2 of 12-24mm F4 soon or it's still a good buy? 16-35mm GM 1 released same time as the 12-24mm F4 in 2017 and it updated months ago this year

I wish I knew what and when there would be a new version of that lens. That being said it is still a very good wide angle option to look into.

When it´s snowing or raining. How do i prevent snowflakes or raindrops from getting onto the front lense element? Lense hood does not work.
