What are your three flies? This was the question posted by Tenkara Angler Magazine
For me the 3 are in essence one pattern based off the Grey Hackle.
2 main ingredients. Peacock herl and Grizzly Hackle.
Pattern 1:
- herl body
- grizzly hen hackle
Pattern 2:
- herl body
- grizzly cock hackle
This can be tied to fish wet or tied so there is an option to fish it dry. For dry use a dry fly hook and properly sized hackle with a good 4 wraps.
Pattern 3:
This is either of the above with a bead head and/or lead free wraps. I personally prefer a bead head with cock hackle.
