The more I play this game I am surprised at the amount of story and side quests. Definitely a big bonus of the game I was not aware how much it is implemented in the game. Good voice acting and dialogue, and quest rewards.
You forgot to mention Flay's personal talent. "Make Them Bleed: Bonus damage for each Bleeding enemy in sight. Groin attacks and attacks against animals cause bleeding." Just make him a professional dick shooter and have someone else with a shotgun and that could potentially rack up his damage a good bit depending on how much the bonus actually is.
Mate, I guess you missed the infected Hospital stuff: after you help them out you can do a "Cure Addiction" operation for Larry which will improve his stats.
And if Sober Larry eats the Hermit's mushrooms, he'll relapse back into addiction and will have to do another rehab operation to restore his old stats.
Thanks for the Jagged Alliance 3 guide, hexxatgaming. You can put Larry in rehab at the Sanatorium and it will change his stats. Health: -6, Agility: +5, Dexterity: +6, Wisdom: +12, and Marksmanship: +8. He will swap the Optimist perk for Pessimist however he also gains Mr Fixit (Major bonus to disarming traps, hacking devices, and picking locks. Unjamming weapons costs 1AP.
@@hexxatgaming In JA2, he's good as long as you keep him away from any drugs. But as soon as he encounters any drugs, he turns into a stoner again and his stats tank.
It would be amazing if there was a Diablo 2 style remaster for the first two games. In most cases, graphics are not a barrier for me, but those original games are just too rough looking for me to get into.
Another M.E.R.C Soldier, Biff: Biff is being held prisoner in sector A8 along with the Green Diamond. Biff can die if you don't free him quickly enough. As soon as you get close to where he is, a conversation between him and the Major will play. From now on, you only have about a week to reach sector A8, otherwise he will die.
There are 5 free mercs (Pierre and Spike can be recruited aswell) and it might be the case that there is a 6th aswell (couldnt find out about her yet but it looks as if "the beast" is recruitable).
Yeah. I have a video on the Major and Pierre. As for the beast, I don't think so. Given the fact that her whole beast thing is protecting her home village. And once you take care of it, she agrees to help you outside. That's as far as recruiting her. Let me know if you find a way to actually take her in your team, though.
I started the smiley quest early be accident, during a fight in flee town a stray bullet hit the generator next to the church and blew a hole into his room hahah
I met Smiley in central Fleatown (H8?) where he was hiding in the church. I don't remember what options I took during the conversations but a little time later a bunch of heavy armed dudes appeared and I had to fight bunched up inside the curch with enemies coming from all sides. As this was quite early in the game (right after Ernie Island) I couldn't win the fight without losing Smiley and Livewire so I don't know if you can recruit him after that. This takes place if you don't go to the brothel first.
Yeah, uh, you're not meant to get Smiley that early. In fact, it works best if you do Boss Blauberts' quest first and back him against Luigi, becuase after teh church fight Smiley will run off to try and kill whoever won that - which means Blaubert winning while losing some of his guards makes that easier..
FYI if you free the mobster (Luigi) from the prison before you show up here, you’ll have to fight both factions and it’s definitely impossible- even with a geared up 6 player squad.
Wow my whole bit was Smiley was totally diiferent, had not yet been to pantagruel , 1st clue was from a recovered Larry. then I spoke to Tooker then Mollie and found out Tooker was hiding him in the church. he agreed to join me, but then a dozen or so heavily armed men working for the Boss show up. For what ever reason the game doesnt give me control of smiley I just had to keep him alive and survive the fight....unfortunately this was my B Team or 3 guys , even with 4 Militia I couldnt kill them fast enough to keep Smiiley from getting himself killed by being an idiot..anyone else manage this?
@@hexxatgaming It is not a problem to save him in the church. Much harder to save him (and his hore) in boss estate. 2-3 machine guns may be usefull here.
I just got onto the mainland. I will probably try for all three just to see how they are and what their interactions are like. Put them all in a second group led by a more experienced merc.
Any mercenary that doesn't have a weekly cost seems almost mandatory for an average player. That fact alone, they are worth picking up. Also, you can make one custom Merc as well, with no weekly cost.
My plan, too. I chose Thor as the leader for squad 2 - he's relatively cheap, got good all-around stats and high leadership and he's a great guy personality-wise, too. (My current 1st squad is a high-leadership + Teaching IMP, Buns, Blood, Livewire, MD and Barry. Extremely solid and cost-effective lineup, with no personality conflicts. Only change I'm thinking is trading in Buns for Ice.) One thing I learned to love about JA3 is that there is very few true stinkers in the merc lineup. Almost everyone AIM offers can be a solid performer. Does make for fun story progression, too: AIM has gone from basically taking everyone who'd sign up to being a serious fucking business for real professionals.
How did u get the mission at the poacher camp? When I got there the poachers and some other group started to kill each other, and both were hostile to me.
@@mingkern5618 it is an rng thing, though Larry's high-explosive skill will help him a lot. I have found that even if the game says there's a high chance for a mishap you still have at least a 50% chance of the grenade going correctly. Regardless, the game is programmed such that only Barry can throw them with the lowest mishap chance
I thought so! Before I killed him, I saw that I had gained influence from the conversation. I think we have to impress him more before the fight. Will try next playthrough!
He is recruitable if you go for the main quest first. I did it last (after colonel & corazon) so having recruited him was right before the final credits. He does have unique lines for the talk with president though
@@MarkSeinIII bastion is a wuss from start question about the legion and 4 diamonds from him after that I chose stick up him and steal his money and guns in next event and after that he's in the refugee camp you must make him leave the camp if not he will die after a certain event
I know there's another quest where you free a prisoner who wants to kill Boss Blaubert...is that quest mutually exclusive with the one to rescue Smiley's girl?
I think no. If you free him there will be a fight in which it is best to do nothing and let as many of Blauberts guards be killed so that last fight there with Smiley is easier
The quest with Smiley is easy - first we go to the boss, then we go to prison, we free Luigi, we go back to the boss, support Luigi, both the boss and Luigi died, as there is a big shootout. There is a girl left, bring Smiley to her, she refuses him, Smiley decides to become your mercenaries.
I already passed through Boss Blaubert sector, killed all his guards. Afterwards I managed to free Luigi, but haven't been back to the Boss' mansion. The question is should I find Smiley now or go do the showdown with Luigi and Boss Blaubert? Also, will Boss Blaubert respawn his goons?
@@BunikuXXL Let us know how it turns out. I decided to play it safe and do the quests in order to avoid breaking them. Sounds like you';ve already crossed the point of no return so let us know if the game accounts for your path or if it just broke the questline for you.
Should be able to start the big fight with the boss inside his mansion. Seems a bit lazy from the game to have you fight outside. You need two full squads to get out of there without any major wounds
@@BusyShow I did it with my main character Livewire, Scully, Grizzly. You can get FN Fals from the weapon store in Port Cacao. This might help get your dps. Because you have to kill them before they kill you basically. Hope that helps! Today Im releasing a video in which you can see where you can loot Metavirons. This will definitely get you through this fight.
Short attention span delinquents who never paid attention in school. The video was fine and informative. If you want something shorter, don’t watch a video and go read forums, but we both know you won’t because reading takes effort and you’re too lazy for that.
Larrys Danger Close Ability is very good. As long as you find or craft a steady supply of grenades, he is awsome. Grenades have bin a game winner for me in many fights. As @XYZ-em5vu pointed out, his stats can be improved and you can spend some time training. I botched the hospital job, so I have to check if I can still do the cure addiction thing.
