Love these videos. The bump n run has worked for me on the course, used to always go with a 52, 56 or 60w, been doin the 8i and it has helped a ton. The high lob I do not have hardly any confidence in and it is definitely my most inconsistent shot. Always worried about blading the ball and sending it to the next tee box. hahahahaha. I am still finding you material old and new, tryin to implement it without over thinking has been my problem.

This could or could not help you at all but I struggled with my swing being inconsistent. Had so many swing thoughts in my head I couldn’t function to my full potential. One day I decided to only focus on my alignment, making sure my feet where square with the club, and my tempo, making sure I felt a slight pause before transitioning from my backswing to my downswing, and I have been playing the best golf of my life.
@quadsport7022
@quadsport7022 2 года назад
@@HBTFDawgs I think what’s hurting me is consistently with club plane. I feel like between the time I go into back swing to when I come down, my club path changes left, right, or I pick up my body and leads to me shanking or topping the ball. Hoping that I could use some of these tips to work on my alignment / be more consistent

Thankyou Mr Rick Shiels!...I love golf but also love being okay at it!...Not sure what an average golfer is,but up until 6 months ago I was forever scoring 110-125 constantly,(...and swearing alot!)...So I had a local(expensive) golf lesson,but still the same old,same old...I then stumbled across Rick's RU-vid channel and slowly but surely I began piecing bits together...I like the way he is easy to understand and so enthusiastic and particularly his reminders to enjoy our golf,I actually feel like he is a friend!!...So these days I am consistently shooting under 100 and more often than not,under 90...However,I still want to keep improving my game fo have subscribed to Rick's channel safe in the knowledge that it will continue to help my game🌞🌞...and for as long as I am on this planet I will NOT be telling my playing partners about Rick's RU-vid channel!!😀😀...but everyone else,it is a must and it works👍

I gotta admit, since getting the stronger lofted clubs I struggled with the bump and runs. As you say, I've had to drop to an 8i for the standard type. It's just a psychological thing at first, getting it into your head that the 8i is a 7i etc. If anything it confused me more with wedge gapping.
@EMD_Ski
@EMD_Ski 5 лет назад
Helps me too...i think the kiss of death in chipping is fear of hitting it too far. Once you start to get tentative those fats and thins kick in. Helps me to use that higher lofted club where i feel like I have to give it some grunt to get it to the hole. Makes for a much more confident stroke. 👍
@garybrumley3519
@garybrumley3519 5 лет назад
I agree, Rob. I hate that club lofts have gotten so strong. I have actually ordered clubs with 1-2 degrees weaker lofts just to keep the game more consistent for me. I saw a PW listed at 43 degrees recently. Seriously? That would make your gap wedge about the loft of a PW from years past. It does seem that 'players clubs' have lofts that are more traditional.

My chipping improved more after watching this 8-minute video, than it has in several HOURS of lessons focused completely on chipping. None of my instructors talked about three kinds of chip shots. And interestingly none of them told me the technique of putting the toe down, or opening up the face, again all depending which type of chipping I needed to do. And, as a girl from California, I do love listening to Rick say “boomp and run.” 😀

Hi Rick, I've been learning a lot from your videos. Previous to this one, I watched your 5 tips for fixing a slice and was able to correct the slice I've had my whole life (I'm in my 50's!). So, thanks for that! You asked in this video which shot I found most daunting. Definitely #3 - the high lofted chip. I've never used my sand wedge except for in a sand trap so that is new to me. I'm going to go out and practice and see how things go. I will probably purchase a lob wedge on your advice. Thanks! I love your easy manner and the fact that you are not arrogant at all (the way many golf pros are in their videos, ugh!). I'm a big fan and love your videos and recommend them to all my friends and anyone I'm paired with on the course if they seem interested. I appriate the work that you do very much! Thank you!

Phil Michelson chipping advice is the best. 3 steps, 1 ball placement either in front of left foot (lofted) or right foot (de lofted) never between feet. 2 All weight on left foot (always). 3 Quick hitch in back swing, Fast hands through the ball, and club should be straight with left arm through finish.

@Geep1778
@Geep1778 5 лет назад
Michelson is a great player but i can't use his method because I struggle to maintain my balance w all my weight on front foot. I have bad flat feet and need both to touch ground... I hit most chips/pitches ball center or slightly back like this video demonstrates. Just because a pro does something doesn't mean there's only that way to be a good player..
