With so much verdure along this route, I'm hard pressed to consider this desert, unless one takes into account, the overall Summertime aridity of the greater province. Mojave? I thought that the Mojave, is a principally Californian province, with only bits and pieces of that in Arizona and Nevada. Otherwise, I'd consider the rest, of this region, as belonging to the general Coloradan Plateau and Mogollon Rim provinces--some Sonoran Desert in extreme southern Arizona Desert--the bulk of it in Mexico.
The Mojave definitely stretches up into southwest Utah into the St. George area. Zion isn’t in the Mojave, but with all the red rock, cacti, sand and the scorching arid summertime weather I’d say it qualifies as being a desert landscape. As you go north the climate changes and things become more green, especially in the mountains, although the entire region is still quite arid.
@@AdventureEveryDay Now we shall compare your forays in Arizona, Utah, Western Colorado, and New Mexico, with Death Valley. All of the foregoing, with exception of the latter, is extremely verdant. But, you're still WELL ADVISED to remain hydrated and sunscreened, as you may become seriously sick if you don't do so. I do believe that there have been Heat EMERGENCIES that have periodically shut down Death Valley NP, with the exception of the Lodges at Furnace Creek, where some tourists may have long-standing reservations to fulfill. They're then strictly advised to remain close-in to the facilities, until the Emergency breaks. Otherwise, Park Service evacuates in advance, to the best of their ability.
This combination of almost orange rocks and soil, trees with bright green foliage and a cloudless blue sky gives the impression that you are in some kind of western film. Beautiful!
Such beautiful coloring in Zion National Park. It's like Mother Nature took red food coloring and put some in a white cake batter swirled it around a little and poured in into the pan that is Utah and left it to bake in the desert sun. :D
This video clearly shows the fun of American country roads, which are different from those in Europe and Asia. Blue skies are not often seen in Europe or Asia.
