I possibly have social anxiety, but i will not self-diagnose even though i do have symptoms. So, my fear of talking to people started when is was very little, it was small then. I'd only freak out if i was doing presentations or talking to strangers. But, it all started to get worse when in 6th grade my teacher would get all in my face and scream at me, even till the point i was crying. The reason he would shout at me, getting a low mark on a test. If i even slightly moved my eyes when he was shouting at me, he would say i was "Rolling my eyes". When i broke my arm he told me i was over-reacting and that i will "get over it" tomorrow. He made me afraid to look people in the eyes or even move them when in conversation. When i was in 7th grade, i had 4 friends, they seemed like good people but then they pulled off their masks. They would make fun of my clothing, call it "Granny clothes" because it was baggy and navy blue. They would always pick on me for every little thing i did, if i even joked like they did to try and get in the conversation , they would take my words and shout out what i would say and tell everyone. It made me afraid to talk and joke with my friends. They got confused when i started to get quiet and would just start calling me names like "Emo" or really anything they could think of. I didn't break away from the friendship because i wouldn't be able to make any friends, not with my fear of talking to people at that point. The only true friend i had ignored me for her "Popular" friends and didn't give me any support. When i'd go home, my mom and family would call me "Fat" and tell me "You're going to get diabetes" like ffs. You tell me that then drag me to the store to buy a whole bunch of junk-food like?. So, that made me self-conscious about my weight and how people look at me, making me not want to be seen or looked at. In 8th grade i finally dropped the friendship with those 4 girls over the summer after one of them decided to insult my family. The one true friend i had came back and we did get back to being good friends, but she did still ignore me which never gave me a chance to talk because she was too busy with the other girls. Well, it turns out, she wasn't really a good friend either. She and one of her friends that they knew since birth were talking, i'm used to being laughed at. But this time, i walked over and asked them what they said, after the other girl left my friend told me, they were joking about fat people. That was all i needed to hear because i knew that they were calling me fat. I didn't want to cry, we were in Gym class, but i did. I ran out of the room and went to the washroom and they followed after me, they asked me "Why are you crying? What's wrong?"....-_- what's wrong?.... My life was going pretty okay through 8th grade up until that point, i was actually happy. I was balling my eyes out and telling them they can't say that stuff about me because i'm more sensitive than they are. A few days later, i tried to starve myself, i figured that starving does make people lose weight so, why not. I lasted 2 days before i made myself eat, i guess i'm just too fat to let myself starve. A few months later, a kid in my class said i smell like shit... they obviously have never owned 9 animals and tried to smell perfect. All the boys in the class started talking about how much they hated me... why? Just because i don't talk?.... At that point i did begin to have...dark thoughts... i began and still do wish i was never born in the first place. Throughout school, Presentations did get worse, since we're talking 8th grade (Which is actually the present) i can't stand presentations, i can barely speak or move, i constantly think about what i'm doing because i don't want to mess up. All the 8th grade things happened about 2 months ago or before the Pandemic. Here's what my fear causes me since i didn't really tell -When i'm talking to people it feels like my entire vocabulary is taken away from me. -I don't look them in the eyes -I overthink my actions and decisions -I will begin to sweat and scratch/rub my hands (Or legs if i'm sitting down) -My heart will begin to race -I will constantly worry if i will say the wrong thing or upset the other person -I will constantly think they are judging me -I will often stutter or tremble with my words, if i actually say anything other than laugh, go mhm, or nod. -I will NEVER enter a room if everyone is already seated. -I will never start a conversation -I will never buy anything at stores or order food unless someone is with me -I hate eating in front of other people -I won't use public washrooms unless i absolutely have to I'm really tired so i'm going to go to sleep now but thanks for reading, and no i'm not attention seeking i'm just telling my story -_- okay gn and i love you all

I'm so glad that you were able to describe how you've been feeling. Are you able to talk to your mom and ask to see a therapist? My son did and I'm getting him help in addition to him listening to tracks like this. Also focus on self love and acceptance tracks. If you can get some crystals like rose quartz, that will also help to raise your vibration and promote a self love frequency. Good luck to you. 💜

My parents had always told me things like “you’re not the sharpest tool in the shed” or “you’re not very smart” and my mother would constantly tell me how bad my skin looks due to acne. They’ve been criticizing my looks and mind since I was very young and I believe that’s where my social anxieties came from. As well as my insecurities and self confidence. You’d think by age 30 I would have grown out of it, but it’s still there. I hope to overcome my anxieties one day.

I thought for so long that shaking, sweating, stuttering and feeling cold when talking to strangers is normal. I thought that not being able to answer the telephone was normal. I thought that not being able to order food in a restaurant was normal. I thought that wanting to cry and almost getting a panic attack while standing in front of my class was normal. I thought that not opening up at people, even if I knew them for months or even years was normal. I thought that I was just really shy. Now I'm aware that I have serious social anxiety and I really am trying to get better but it just won't work. Can anyone give me advice at what I should do? Have a nice day and stay safe.❤

I hope you are doing better now. Note with subliminals one should listen to them daily for several months. Things like a medical hypnotherapist (I went to one and thought it wasn't working though he'd told me it would take 6 sessions.. on the 5th session I suddenly felt a huge difference) or another therapist may be helpful for you

This helped me so much. I recommend laying on a bed etc. with a dim coloured light such as a lava lamp for an hour or so.

When im alone i fantasize how id like to socialize and communicate with people on so many topics, than when i have an opportunity i just freeze and suddenly feel like this the last thing i wanna do in my life, than i come home depressed wanna cry all night. I cant tell anyone, no one would understand, my parents wouldnt understand, my friends wouldnt understand. Im trying investing in myself more hoping it will get better one day. Gotta stay strong.

This helps me during the day at school. Because I have really bad anxiety with people around me there. And this helps me alot to talk to people more and it helps me to be less shy around them. Anywhere else I go to, I'm practically fine and I don't have anxiety except for at school.

presentations will be the death of me... i’m a very extroverted person and not shy at all but something about presentations ... also, i have locker pickup today and i have to talk to teachers i don’t even know and stuff and i don’t even know why i’m getting so nervous for it. i’m just so afraid of embarrassing myself. :(

I have social anxiety really bad, when I talk in front of a class I started shaking and sometimes sweat. I sometimes get paranoid and scared of going out in public. It gotten so bad that I don't talk at all at school. At school I have barely have three friends, I'm the quietest person at school but at home I can't stop talking and I'm loud. I think I have social anxiety because a lot of people leave my life and I my siblings make fun of me by pointing out everything wrong about, like I'm a mistake. So I really want to get rid of my social anxiety. So could someone please tell me if this works.

I had really bad social anxiety in school. It will get better as you get older. You're probably super smart and a victim to over thinking. Meditation and things like this are good but I would start by first watching other people closely. You'll start to notice that everyone has awkward moments and makes mistakes. Cognitive therapy would probably help you, you should consider therapy if possible. If that's not an option then there are many books on the subject, although having a real person helps a little more.

you litteraly described my life right now. In school i am super shy and tend to not take up offers if it reauires social contact. When im at home i talk nonstop i dont care care much when im at home. I feel really 2 faced because of my anxiety

Finding a job is very hard for me. Even my parents know I remember the most weirdest stuff which have no use, but don’t remember important stuff, how am I supposed to survive in a job like this. People think I’m crazy at work now because of my adhd and social anxiety, I seem childish and rude, it still hurt my feelings (crying now)

@@hh7964 I heard that mindfulness meditation does wonders for anxiety. I was researching it the other day and ppl have said that it completely cured their social anxiety. Mindfulness is basically learning to be in the present moment and not stressing about the past or future and basically u are supposed to observe your thoughts and not identity with them. I advise u to do some research and look up guided mindfulness meditation.

whenever i hang out with my best friends friends, i feel left out and they always ask why i’m so quiet and the major reason is because i am very insecure about my teeth and my nose and how i look, and all of them are pretty and popular and it makes me feel worthless. Whenever i try talking with people i get scared and i start shaking and sweating and i feel like crying so whenever people tell me something i just smile and nod because i can’t keep a conversation going😔

I am at the place in my journey where I can go and talk to friends or go to school, or work, but the problem is the underlining anxiety while doing anything is still there sucking the joy out of me. I am not sure which is worse - not being able to even start, or realizing that you can do it but it sucks, so you kinda don't want to, but at the same time, for me personally, that is not acceptable, I will NOT bow down....even if I have to suffer, I must persevere. I find meaning and strength in this. Life is hard, and we have to become tough to make life easier. This mindset has helped me a lot, but it's a long process. I used to rely on benzos too, but started to feel that I am cheating, meaning that even if you can do it while drunk or on drugs, can YOU really do it? For me I have to do it sober, for it to qualify as me doing it. If you do it sober, you know it's 100% your doing. That gives you proof that you can do it..which will give you confidence to go after bigger things. I went and got driving license, which was very stressful to say the least(30 lessons with a total stranger saying shit to you + school exam + real exam + course on first aid) and did it all sober. It was hell, but I did it, and I am sure I can do anything else I set my mind to, and so can you. There is only one rule: Don't try to run from your negative feelings and fear, go and do it anyway. There is NO OTHER WAY.

Happened to me in 6th grade when my teacher was asking everyone the same question because they didn’t know the answer I did but I couldn’t put my hand up because I overthink them looking at me when I do, but when she called on me I took a deep breathe and said the answer which my classmates were shocked that I knew the answer

I have a little bit social anxiety, and overall I don’t usually talk much since personally I’m introvert and I’m ok to be with myself. It’s fine to me to talk with a stranger only when I need too. But talking publicly I got over worry and my words are entangled. I usually feel overly intimidated by certain types of people. I hope this will improve my social skills

Thank you i have trouble communicating in school in im shy. Im never felt that way when i was young. As i grew up it was hard to talk to students and made new friends . in the problem is i dont want to be alone in school. I dont want kids to take advantage of me....

I have social anxiety symptoms and I don't wanna or don't know how to tell my mom. I just wanna get over it so I don't feel nervous, scared, or stressed, or self conscious by sitting in a room of people aka a classroom.

I’m a forth stage pharmacy student, last year we were sent on our own for summer practice in local pharmacies and i hate myself for not being able to hold my ground. I was so scared every time, d run away and change to a different one, convincing myself that it’s something wring with them and not me, but the fact that i came back crying everyday from them, or the fact that i feel so mentality excused from just standing there...i cant speak not try to ask or start up a conversation, always looking down at myself and feeling useless and that I’m not good enough to be there, it eats away at me ad distorts my mind that looking back at those times, they all just feel like foggy memories of my anxious self..i ant to so bad feel proud of myself, feel like I’m good enough, be confident that I’m able to do this ad that i can do this..I just want to do good and not hate myself so much... This feels like a relief i away, just speaking all my burdens out into the void with the thought that someone out there understands and feels for it, it brings me comfort in a way.

I don't even know if I should label my thing social anxiety I have Autism spectrum disorder so I'm very high functioning meaning my emotions r like x10 it's an up and down roller-coaster I'm scared of everything even ppl because I always ruin everything for ppl and I don't want to be a burden on anyone, I want to have ppl in my life that genuinely care about me and know what I'm going through but most of my friends r banter fueled I begin to question if anyone's my genuine friend nowadays I don't talk but my teachers know if I'm having an episode they ask me and all i have to do is knod my head and they let me go breathe outside I want to talk to ppl again but I can't

(I’m going to write my story but to make it short, ) Before 2012, very social no problem. 2012 got bullied and betrayed by 1 Friend, lead me to social anxiety. Age 19, found job and work for 3 days and then was never called back, told when next work day was.quitted there. Age 21, found job again but this time though agency and it only made me feel uncomfortable, since agency and contract make me feel they own me and I can’t be me. Work 8 hours and quit on the first day because it wasn’t for me. Regret going through agency since since it felt like I’m being sold to a company that I’m held captive. Standing for 8 hours wasn’t worth the money in my opinion, my engery was gone in 4 hours, I started to shake because I’ve not drank in 4 hours because I wasn’t allowed to bring in my water bottle, I hate it. Water if my only way to stay positive and give me engery and it’s taken away from me, I cried when got home and told my mum I’m quitting. She understood. I hate feeling humiliated, but I’m bad at everything other than using my phone. I’m good at learning to use the phone system and still remember how to use my mum’s old phone that she forgot how to use now. My parents know I have some talent and ability, but only able to archive at home because I’m comfortable being alone and comfortable zone. I hate leaving the house. Long story(about this month) Friends are telling me to get a job, the other time I quit within the first day because I felt humiliated, I fell because the locker aren’t stable to the ground and my locker was very Low so I had to squat and I couldn’t balance so I lean on the lockers behind me and fall and broke the key I was trying to open the locker, from then on I felt like crying and going home. But then I went to inform about my key and they didn’t believe me about the key being broken and right there and then I felt like quitting because I don’t want to see this man again, if you don’t trust my words then I won’t trust working with you. What I learn: Don’t take 8 hour job if you can’t handle , especially if it’s a stand up job. Can’t handle more than 4 hours, I start to shake from dehydration and lost of energy also because we aren’t allowed to bring our water bottle in the room because it’s a a camera factory we build cameras so no water allowed. I regretted right then and there. I need water, every time I’m out of engry I need water, but then if I drink too much I would need to keep peeing. I don’t want to burden others. My Friends are telling me to find a job again, that’s from people I never told them about my social anxiety because I worried they see it as an excuse. They keep telling me I need to find an job and earn money so I can’t take care of my parents. B*tch you think I don’t know that? I don’t have the courage to work like you all extroverts do. I’m not diagnosed with social anxiety but I definitely have the symptoms, I just don’t have the confidence to go to the doctor and tell them. I hate questioning others because it feels I’m asking way too much things. During interview I was called “funny girl” because i was asking a lot things that others wont, like I just want to know how the job works and all I thought that was pretty normal to ask, but I Guess not. Friends told me to work “calls and email”, I told them I can’t and they went “you cannot everything what can you do, you have no future”. F*cking it hurt my feelings. She said that yesterday and today I can’t get it out of my mind. I only know I’m diagnosed with ADHD as young as I can remember. And apparently having adhd and social anxiety aren’t that uncommon when I google it.

41 yrs old and I struggle with SAD every day of my life and it seems o be getting worse with age. Aside from my wife I have no other friends, no acquaintances. I avoid family get-togethers and feel like none of them really like me. My work life is very stressful and I avoid everyone. I have walking from the entrance to my cubicle all mapped out to have the least amount of interaction. I don’t ever leave my cubicle and if I have to use the restroom I usually will hold it or if I do go I use the restroom on a different floor to avoid anyone I might know. I avoid eye contact with most people. I hate small talk, mainly because I panic the moment it starts with what to say and begin to feel tension in my chest. I don’t eat lunch with other people in the break room at noon. Rather, I wait to eat until about 2pm when the break room is empty so I can eat alone or if there is someone there I know I’ll leave the break room and either come back later or just forego having lunch. I’ll come home from work and replay the interactions in my head and usually end up criticizing myself on said interactions I had or things that I said. My family and I are invited to parties and get-togethers but I will always try to come up with some excuse to get out of it. I have no idea how I got married and to such a wonderful person, but if it wasn’t for her I would lead a truly lonely life. I think the worst part is that most people probably think I dislike them but they have no idea what is going on in my mind. It’s hard to live like this, but that’s my life.

I hope you managed to change things.. with subliminals it can take a few months of listening to them daily. Therapy is also a very good option if you'd like to change how you are. A combination of having therapy and listening to subliminals may be a very good thing to do.

I'm 41 too and have exactly what you have. I go to the supermarket where I know I won't see anybody. If I bump into somebody my mind goes blank, I can't think what to say and feel my whole body and head burning. I have to get out of there quick and then beat myself up about the encounter all day.

I am 43 and I have it and i had to start therapy recently because its affecting me on the job. My sister who alao did suffered in the pass advised that from time to time hers would act up and one thing that helped her is 2 Timothy 1: 7 and 1Peter5:7 added to the scriptures she said whenever she feels it coming, ahe uses a small amount of vicks on the sides of her nose and around the nostrils and it helps her a whole lot to calm down. I am trying all three. I wish everyone well!

Wherever I go, which is rare, I say and do the most pointless, weird shit and I make unwarranted comments, talk rapidly in circles of apology and arguments with my me inside. And sometimes I even make noise words you’d never dreamed of uttering and sweat like a frightened pig. All because of the disease of anxiety and agoraphobia. It’s a total nightmare ❤

As well as psychological problems with Psychosis like schitzophrenia. If you feel that these strong urges and thoughts cause you a lot of anxiety, and that they don't go away unless you give in to them or do or think something else specifically, then you might have OCD! LOOK INTO THIS PLEASE, ANYONE WHO IS READING THIS WHO THINKS THEY HAVE ANUTHING LIKE i MENTIONED. We get check ups at the doctor to make sure everythin gis going well with our bodies, Therapists work the same way. We need to hav regular check ups with therapists to make sure we are thinking properly and that our brain, mind, and sometimes body are also healthy. This is true even for people who don't think they have any mental helath problems at all!!! We are ALL prone to illogical ways of thinking that damage ourselves and our relationsips with those around us and ONLY an OUTSIDE PERSON can give us objective thoughts about when are right or wrong in how we think and what we do, or also in what may be wrong in our brain and what it right in our brain.

It may take listening daily for THREE MONTHS when using subliminals to change something, remember they often have to work on habits a person has had for a lifetime. They can though often work far faster than three months. I often play them overnight and with many I can notice a change within days.

pray to God and also try to talk to a professional about it. i struggle with it to. Dont give up. And sometimes medication prescribed by a professional helps to. Try to call Jesus' name and know that He hears you,because He will. Ask Him to help you with these things, and to give u the tools (medicine,dr,thearpy..) to make you feel better, get thru this. I know it seem easier said than done.

just think. in fact, this one moment is insignificant in your whole life, and insignificant in a cosmic timescale. so, why are you panicking? just tell her, i forgot my hw! and DONT use that for likes! it will not matter, so why on earth u trying to use that as a reason for likes?

It's where something that is never actually supposed to work. Like, replacing medicine with a sugar pill. It's to make you think that it worked, but it only worked, because you never really needed it. :)

Everyone here pretending to have social anxiety clearly don’t know what it’s like to have it. I don’t know why your lieng about it but it’s not like the cliche movie says a lonely person is. It’s to not be able to speak infront of people out loud it’s to not have the ability to breath when everyone’s attention is faced towards you, but you mentioning this in your comments is proof that you don’t truely have it. A person with social anxiety try to look they’re best but stay in the background and they wouldn’t ever point out what’s wrong with them because of fear of what others think. If you think you have and are fine with saying you have it then you don’t simple as that your just looking for attention and sympathy you don’t deserve for the sake of it

Every disorder is different for everyone. The way you react isn't the only way someone can have it. I hate to break it to you, but the world doesn't revolve around your experiences alone. How are people trying to draw attention to themselves on an anonymous platform? Being anonymous can help some people communicate better. Don't gatekeep a mental illness.

People can have it to various degrees and some do not have it so bad if posting online over a computer as it can not feel as real as talking to people in real life physically
