The Flir is an invaluable tool when wrangling bees. Though it does not locate them all the time due to the material that blocks thermal imagery, insulation, radiant heat, and a few other reasons, 90% of the time it does find the bees. The only way I know to remove beetle larva that is off the comb is with a shop vac. Unfortunately, you will never get them all and they will continue to emerge over a week or so and the homeowners will be disgusted with it, but I really don't know how to get rid of them right away. There will always be dead bees in the vacuum, but very few due to the fact that the suction of the vac is regulated and is VERY low. There is a lot more than meets the eye when trying to do a removal, and I have been doing them for over 15 years. My suggestion would be to start watching a LOT of videos on the process, you will gain a lot of knowledge. I have over 500 videos and 3/4s of them are on removing bees from structures. I have never killed yellow jackets in a wall before, but I have killed lots of them in the ground. Unfortunately the method I use to kill them, gasoline, would not work so good on a house.
