3 Inches of Awesome--Colt Python 2020 3" 

I have the same 3”, and was amazed how much tighter my groups became after I replaced the rear sight with Wilson Combat.

Colt just anounced blue 6" - 4 1/4 pythons hopfully the will do the same with the 3

Three inches of awesome was my nickname in highschool.

Just got the 3” Combat Elite and it has the sweetest trigger. Love the grips, super comfy g10. The weight and size is just right for concealed carry for me, anything bigger would be difficult. I will need a lot of trigger time to transition from current carry but I will be enjoying it. 10/10 recommend.

For a shoulder holster try Triple K. I had one for a 2.5 inch 686 that fits my 3 inch Python very well. A half inch of barrel sticks out but it’s under your cover garment. There are 2 speed loader carriers on the other side.

Great Presentation! I carry mine. Any L frame holster will work with the Pythons, and I use a Galco Miami Classic for both a 686+ and Pythons.

I have a Colt King Cobra Carry 2inch that I occasionally use for my EDC and I love it. I've been thinking about buying a new Python and just heard they're coming out with a blued version, can't wait to pick one up.

Nice gun, nice shooting! I have a 4" Python from 1969 that I've owned since the 80s, and it shoots like a dream. I just don't shoot it that much anymore because very few parts are available, and no one knows how to work on them anyway. I like the new 3" because that barrel length was a rare configuration originally, and the prices on those original models are priced accordingly--stratospheric. But the 2.5" has that cool 70s detective vibe. Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

I like the old school targets. Guy on the right looks like the typical 80s macho bad guy.

I have the Craft Roto Shoulder Holster for my S&W Mdl 57 Mountain Gun. I have the new 4.25 Python and it fits as well. Great shoulder holster.

nice grips. i REALLY want those but cant seem to find them. did the hogue rubber which was very nice but i started cutting them and threw them away. using turkish ones from amazon right now i liked so much i ordered a 2nd pair which im hoping is more grippy. i hated the factory target grips. had mine shaved down on the left side but i still ended up buying new grips. this stupid gun has cost me a lot of money for no reason other than me being picky on grips alone. good job on the reload drills. you touched on everything. it IS a different animal

I bought a python and shot it once and sold it, besides some quality issues, there is one I consider fatal flaw (my opinion), that is the trigger rebound is WEAK, for revolvers you need to fully return the trigger before the next pull, the python is VERY weak in rebound force. I assume that is difficult to change. Otherwise I think it is a big step up over SW in build quality. But due to the weak trigger rebound SW seems much better when shooting double action. Inside SW has a very strong dedicated rebound spring!

Finally!! 3" is finally aqaquate for something!

I highly recommend the wilson combat sights. Only gripe was it came a little scratched but as far as functionality and how solid they feel it is a must

Have you had any light primer strikes? I have a 4.25" and when the gun gets a little dirty, it starts having little primer strikes with some ammo. Revolvers aren't like glocks. They have to be cleaned a hell of a lot more lol

Nice gun dude! I am not a HUGE fan of the new ones, as I'd prefer an older one because I have been collecting older ones and I shoot my guns and I even carry the smaller ones, my J frames and my Colt Agent. I LOVE being the only person I know or have ever met that carries beautiful old school revolvers. I get what you're saying about shooting an original Python. If it was unfired, I wouldn't, but if it had been shot before I would definitely shoot it. Too big to carry, but I'd carry a snub Diamondback any day. They're pricey too. I JUST missed one, a blued snub Diamondback at my favorite local dealer that had been reblued so it was only going for 700 bucks and it looked incredible man. I was so pissed I missed it and I still kick myself in the ass because the day it came in, I was going to go but I put it off until the next Monday and someone already had it on layaway. I'm just glad to see Colt making good looking firearms again. Or one good looking firearm, but it's a start. The Cobras today look like a turd that got ran over a few times lol. I wouldn't take one for free. These are straight though.

Have yet to watch the video, and this may already be addressed, if so excuse me, but I highly recommend a grip adapter for revolvers. The type made by pachmayr, Tyler, or BK. These fill the front strap and make using the magan style grips so much better than anything else. FIY these are not the gross rubber slip on condom types.

I also gotta say, when you said you were contemplating making another change to the gun, I thought for sure it was the grips. I am so glad to hear that I was wrong. All of my revolvers have the magna grips {panel grips} except my Taurus 617 which has some weird compact frame and can't use those. You know what you're talking about too when it comes to shooting with the panel grips. Magna grips are a S&W thing, not sure what Colt called them. I made my on video on that very subject a few years ago. Your index finger should be angled down to prevent recoil. I hear SO MANY guys {I use that term loosely} who cry about the pain from the recoil. One guy in a S&W forum said it, and I quote best his hand to a bloody pulp haha. Wow, I was like did you use it like a hammer and smash your hand a bunch of times or what bro??? Then I started noticing guys on revolver videos who complain about that holding it too low. Maybe it's from using the semi autos so much that they think that's what you're supposed to do. I don't know. They INSIST on filling in the gap behind the trigger guard lol. I'm like yeah that's what causes the recoil pain bud. That gap was and still is there for a reason! Even new ones that come stock with rubbers still have it under the gaudy grips. I'll tell you what though, the 4 inch revolvers still look dope as fuck with the panel grips. All of them honestly between old Smiths and old Colts they look great. A 4" S&W Mod. 19 looks sooo reminiscent of old cowboy SA 6 shooters with the magna grips on them. Try it out one day if you ever get a chance. Look up colt pythons with pearl grips. That'll usually produce a few pics of what I'm talking about. Over 4 inch barrels, then probably the target grips because it might look weird but I saw a 6" Mod. 19 with them that still looked cool. I like short and longer barrel SA 6 shooters and the longer ones look great with panel style grips so, I'm open to using them on longer barrels too. Nice video. Glad to see someone else who understands how to shoot a revolver properly. I see guys who grew up with them that don't understand that shit.

The “Goldilocks” of the Python line. Bought the elite model which was only $60 more than the standard 3 inch. No need for an original. Current models are just as good.
