Thanks. The 3rd option was very helpfull to get me started on the M32R live. Would it also be possible to just send the master outputs to the USB interface?

Yes. To do this you have to make sure to set your main outs to a physical output (or AUX OUT) and then it can be routed properly to the USB card output. This video walks through the setup in case it is helpful. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YRIw4qmVzSM.html

Hi. I’m trying option 3 but I need to change the mix. For example I don’t need to amplify the organ but I have a mic in the room to pick that up and be part of the stream mix. I’ll also have the piano mic’d along with some other occasional instruments. Is a usb out to a DAW my best bet? Any pointers on how to best accomplish?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 года назад
A DAW is always the superior way to go if you have someone to manage that mix during your service. Many people do not have two dedicated engineers for each service so instead we go the route of a Post Fader MixBUS setup that allows one engineer to control the House mix and the Stream mix at the same time. This video discusses the setup. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pMnaiuC55RY.html

Hello Dave, My question is about a fourth possible way to get audio directly out of the Behringer X32. I am interested in using NDI 5 to get direct audio from the X32 to my network. Do you have any idea how this would be done? Thank you for your time and valuable information!
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 года назад
I have not explored sending signals directly from the console across NDI. Most users would be sending audio and video across NDI and that usually is happening through programs like ProPresenter7 or other similar products. If you just need to send audio digitally on your network, DANTE is the industry standard solution. You can interface with your console and other machines across your network to send and receive audio signals across a network.

I use option 3rd with Ecamlive...I have a limiter on the streaming buses as well...I am thinking to use the xlr out and connect them to an audio interface then to the computer to the USB of the interface...Then use the USB out of the mixer to another computer for multitrack recording..So I don't stress too much 1 computer with recording plus streaming etc...Will this make sense??Blessings from Cayman Islands
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 года назад
I would prefer to not use an audio interface as it creates another technology point of potential failure. Multitrack recording will not draw too much on your computer and you should be good to record and stream at the same time. As long as your computer has a dedicated video card that your stream is using to offload the video rendering process (off from the CPU) then you will be fine. This video here discusses the routing needed to make this happen across the one USB output of the console. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Zb6ngDBuaDE.html

I’m hoping this may have solved my sync issue. I inherited the live stream operation at our church. We have a PTZOptics camera connected via Ethernet to PoE and an audio cable to the X32 compact. Two other (different brand, not NDI) cameras are connected via Ethernet only to the PoE switch. Ethernet then into X32, X32 into audio interface into USB on PC running OBS. The pair of cameras audio is out of sync. If I understand this correctly, I can adjust these independently of the PTZOptics camera. Or is it better to attempt to add an audio connection to the out of sync cameras? Thanks for your videos. They’ve helped me immensely.

If you are going into OBS you can set a delay on the audio to allow alignment to the main video source. Also, if you can remove your other interface from the setup and run directly from the X32 to your OBS machine.

Can I just use one mono 1/4 to 3.5 to plug into ATEM mini? I'm just libestreaming a speech. Also do I have to change input type in the atem software settings for that mic.?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
You can take a single mono output and run it into a Mic inout on your ATEM mini. Keep in mind that the Mic inputs are stereo inputs and you will need to find a way to have your input summed to mono in the ATEM so your signal is heard in both ears. I believe in the control software there is a button at the bottom of the mic input fader that has a button you can push to make this a mono input vs stereo input. Also, keep in mind the signal coming out of your board will typically be more at a broadcast level already and you will need to turn the gain down on the ATEM so it doesn’t distort.

I personally use a Post Fader MixBUS setup which allows me to build my House mix and then build a separate mix on a stereo MixBUS and send that to my video switcher. Howdy, thanks for all your videos and help in previous comments I've made. Another question that perhaps you can help me with. I'm helping a group with their online stream mix and set busses 9&10 as a stereo pair to accomplish this. These busses also have the Precision Limiter running to beef up the volume. As discussed in previous comment these busses are routed to run out of the Aux out 5 and 6 (Video L & R) to go RCA (post fader) into the encoder. The problem I'm running into is MASSIVE clipping in the resulting video stream. Unfortunately there is no way for me to monitor what the encoder is hearing or sending out. I'm almost positive I had these guys set up to monitor the mix on the console with headphones and heard no clipping there. So I'm scratching my head. Does the use of the RCA output send a much hotter signal than going out xlr? (Even then, I would think the encoder should be made to accept the hotter signal given its RCA inputs) The RCA outputs shouldn't bypass the limiter right, given that it is set to post fader? Not expecting magic, just wanting to get your input for troubleshooting...
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
If you have the limiter on your stream mix then your board mix should not be clipping. You did mention you have it set as "Post Fader" and I'm assuming that is on the output side which means your limiter will be active, but your fader can still raise or lower this overall mix. The first thing I would do is change that setting to AUX out tap point to PreFader so that there is no chance of turning up the mix and causing issues. The RCA and 1/4" outs are unbalanced outputs while the XLR outputs are balanced. There is no output level change or amplification happening on the soundboard side. Depending on the encoder you are using it could cause issues there if your signal is going in too hot, but I would only check this after looking at the stream fader on the board. Some entry level encoders might want to live in the -18dbFS landscape and if you push more than that they might distort. The X32 meters showing 0db on the output will actually meter at -6dbFs. I hope this helps give you a place to start.
@philiptong4978
@philiptong4978 Год назад
Line level standards varies on different devices it is common for audio mixers to use +4dBu (between + to - polarity) as their norminal line level, this is 1.782dBV or 1.228Vrms. Many consumer devices uses -10dBV (0.3162Vrms) as their standard, the consumer device will be overloaded if the mixer output was not adjusted properly
@swanny8777
@swanny8777 Год назад
@@AllamHouse Thank you, this gives me a great place to start. I think adjusting to PreFader will be great once we get the distortion figured out. Everything that I'm seeing leads me to believe that I may need to lower the Output Gain on the Precision Limiter. Will know more after this weekend. Thanks again!

X-USB, X-Live, or Midas version 3) Do I have the appropriate driver installed on my machine? Hi, we use the aux out connecting to the Atem mini, but lately there has been so much background noisr audio, it’s almost unlistenable. Do you know what might be the issue?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 10 месяцев назад
Usually these issues are caused by two problems… 1) the gain structure on the board is not set properly and you are trying to make up the volume in the ATEM. 2) the gain on your mic input in the ATEM is too high. Typically I see a good mix in the console being paired with the gain at -35 in the ATEM.

Hi @AllamHouse, I have been using a Radial PRO ISO Stereo Line Isolator because I have been getting a buzz if I connect directly to the Atem. My understanding is that Atem is unbalanced stereo input that causes the hum/buzz noise when connected X32 balanced outputs. Does this method remove the buzz/hum?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 года назад
Usually, what I experience is the gain on the ATEM mini is too high and this causes a lot of buzz and distortion issues. By default the gain is set really high since the input is set for a microphone input… and not a full mix from a console. You have to access it from the ATEM software and the first thing ai do is turn it all the way down. I run a full-signal recorded song through this and slowly raise the gain up until you are just hitting the first red mark.

the ATEM 3.5mm TRS stereo unbalanced jacks can be configured to either mic level or line level from its setup software, max level is +6dBV (or +8.218dBu), best to leave gain setting on ATEM at 0, faders at 0, monitor the meters and adjust your sound board (x32 or others) output as appropriate, YT target is -14dBLUFS integrated at this time, other platform can differ

Here is where I would check for your connection issue. 1) Take a functional mic (from inputs 1-6) and plug it into 7 so you rule out the source. 2) Go to Routing > Inputs and check to see what your settings are. Ideally they would be AES50a 1-8 or something simple in a block of 8. 3) If you have it set to User IN then you need to investigate your user in settings to see what you have setup and why it might be different than 1-6. 4) Finally, make sure you have the correct preamp selected for this channel by selecting channel 7, then going to Home > Config and checking the source is set to the correct channel similar to 1-6.

Question: why is my online vocals go higher of +10db when the FX was on? Any answer?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
If I understand the question right, you have your vocals at a certain level and when you turn on the FX they get way louder (10dB as stated). Keep in mind that FX are just an additional mix that is added into your dry mix. If you have a lot of vocals going into your FX then you will be adding more vocals for every FX bus they are included in. It is a balancing act of adding the FX and then evaluating if you need less dry vocal or less effected vocal and then making the appropriate changes.

I have to add that if you are running aux sends into the ATEM, then you have to go into your ATEM software control and pan left and right on your mic input! If not then it will continue to send a mono signal...
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 месяца назад
While you can go into the settings and make changes, I find that usually this is not necessary when the proper cables are used. The mic inputs on the ATEM Mini line of stream devices are setup with a TRS input which means both 1/8" inputs provide a stereo input. You do need to make sure you have the proper cable connecting the soundboard to the ATEM as the cable could have two 1/4" on one side, but the 1/8" head could be a mono (TS) head which would only give you a mono input to the ATEM. I hope this helps clarify.

So, would it be counterproductive to have a USB from M32 to laptop AND stereo trs to aux in inputs 1 & 2 routed to bus 1 & 2 for ATEM. Our church is struggling with this. It's been the most frustrating audio journey of our lives🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 года назад
Thanks for reaching out. The short answer is that you only need to select one option and then commit to it and make it great. If you have an ATEM mini I usually use the AUX out approach and use a 1/4" to 1/8" TRS cable to connect the audio into Mic1 on the ATEM mini. If you have a larger unit like a TV Studio HD that accepts XLRs then you can select two XLRs to send to your switcher. Once you have decided the output that will be used you can then build your mix. I personally use a Stereo Post Fader MixBUS setup (as seen in the video posted below) and I then route make sure those two BUSes are routed out the AUX (or XLRs) I selected earlier. I hope this helps. If you need assistance I do handle virtual consultations and can get you up and running pretty quick. Awesome video! At our church, we use the x32 to receive audio from our computer (ex. audio from a video to be played in church) to a stereo AUX IN on the x32, and also send audio from the mixer to the computer for our live stream audio. The computer is using vMix. We’ve been having an issue though, whenever we have our AUX IN fader up to play audio from the computer to FOH, the signals from the mics, and instruments double (essentially feedback loop) even though the AUX IN from the computer signal isn’t being sent to the live stream bus (where all the instruments are being routed to along with the master FOH output). Do you have an idea what might be causing this? Let me know if you need me to clarify anything!
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Год назад
We have a similar issue and while our setup is different, they still share some commonalities. The solution we use is to have the channels that run the audio from the computer back to the console pulled down most of the time. We only push it up when there is a video running that needs to be heard in the room. We use a DCA to control this audio input so that our engineers have quick access to drop the signal which removes any possible doubling up of sound.
