That is a very rose colored view in the fashion industry. It is true that all of them exist but it is only a small part of an industry that produces more and more cheap pieces with less and less quality and that cycles trends faster and faster to incentivise people to buy stuff they don't need
Love your white trousers! I’m hunting for something similar. It’s appeared, that finding white, not off-white and not transparent trousers is a real quest while shopping online :)
I love your style! Can you do a video on trends in dress & accessories that age you? Basically, the things that take away the “fresh look” out of style, especially as you’re getting older and youth is no longer “an accessory” to style.
These are the only ones i can wear on repeat since they are timeless, so the only ones i get my moneys worth. Can you do a video on more ideas about modern trend?
Yes well when you cant keep up financially with constantly buying stuff you tend to stick with pieces that can be worn many times forever. Buying something only to wear it once is for the mega rich..average persons will go broke trying to keep up with the random crazy trends that pop up.
I'm amazed at how other people can wear loose clothes without looking frumpy. I really like how it looks on others, but it just looks sloppy/frumpy on me. idk why
Probably proportions are not quite right. If you're trim it's easier to stray into frumpy and floppy and survive. After a size 8/m size, it begins to accentuate rather than hide. Sad but true. And posture is everything. Stand up straight and keep your feet together. Exaggerated slouching is only for the runway.
As always, with your individual body type there are gonna be cuts that are more or less favorable for you. Maybe you can get away with loose clothes on either upper or lower body (not both at once).
I hope the structured look remains for a long time as I love this look timeless pieces always look good and you feel good to. If I never see another Lycra legging set except at the gym or ripped jeans/shorts I’m a very happy lady. I hate this trend skipped it before and always will. Love the pieces Lydia ❤
I really like how you dress very understated, but at the same time so stylish. I've never seen you wear anything that is too revealing and that is so classy! Your tailoring is on point, but not overdone.
I grew up scared of whites and beiges and classics because my mom kept me away from them and I was scared to look "posh" or "grownup" making fun of myself like I'm a suburban mom. And now I'm 30 fully embracing this side of fashion more and more, even if I feel "overdressed" I think it stems more from self worth issues than anything else. Like, nobody is going to make fun of you for wearing white linnens. The weird stuff I wore growing up though... 😅
Lydia love your style would love if you could do a shoe/sandal recommendation video as I love all your footwear. I find it hard to find the perfect simple two strap sandal that doesn’t crush my toes and I don’t have wide feet. Happy to pay more for quality and the right pair.
Completely agree that classic and/or considered style can contribute to sustainability! It's how I got interested in capsule wardrobes in the first place. Thanks Lydia!
Well.. mix match.. is defined as Skirt and Blouse.. Slacks and Blouse for female.. Partner in colors of dress,, is exalted is body and aura of is person.. White and Black Blue color skirt and fantasy blue design sleeveless blouse Black fantasy design leaf white skirt and White blouse..
WHAT ARE THE NAME BRANDS?! Sorry I’m new, im a tomboy trying to grow! You look 👀 AMAZING 🤩!! I hope to learn and get to dress as elegant and classy as you!
our fashion aint the same at all tho! i feel like fashion is soooo more varied these days! like there are sooo many past subcultures all influencing different micro trends which i feel is the reason for why everyones wardrobe is so varied
Things go out of style and come back in. I was in high school and college during the 80’s. There are things I love then but will never go back to. Those styles are not good for the body. For example, pleated pants, wide leg anything, puff sleeves, crop tops and cropped wide leg pants and capris. No thanks.
Thank goodness! So over being uncomfortable just to look cute. Wish I was about 20lbs lighter and 4 inches taller so that some of those loose fitting silhouettes wouldn’t make me look short and dumpy. Love the look but it doesn’t work for my body type.
There's been a move away from natural fibres. It's getting almost impossible to find a 100pc cotton sweatshirt or socks that have mostly cotton in them if any at all. They are trying to pass off polyester socks on us - nasty! Why is the generation accepting this garbage?!
Black shoes make you look shorter with white pants and Wide leg pants require open toe shoes to prevent a heavy look. It is not doing her fashion, Clay. She also cuts her self off height, wise by using a dark top with a light bottom. It would be better if she had monochromatic with nude open toe sandals, she would be taller looking. But we can’t tell in this photo if this woman is already tall and therefore doesn’t care.
That's because the economy is tough. Colors go muted, people hold on to clothes longer, rely on fewer pieces. I went out school shopping yesterday and the two thrift stores were so busy it felt like Christmas and Marshalls had a wrap around line that took a half hour to get through. People are cutting corners.
We love our Lydia! Thank you for ALL your content. You helped me so much! I'm a mom of 2 little babies, and I have been trying to transition my wardrobe. You have no idea how much I love your videos. They are so helpful! And I just love your style and your insight. Love from the US❤!
There is no point in being selectively angry. So you don’t believe in buying fake bags, a purchase is a purchase, regardless of the intention. I personally think it's crazy to care too much about how people want to spend their money. I bought real coach, marc jacobs, and mcm. If it's more than 1500, I'll buy a replica *yutulu* . Guess what else I have in the bank, I'm a homeowner and drive a Lexus. I saw someone on RU-vid who had tons of luxury items, lived in their mom's house, and was broke
