The reason you don’t have basement in your house is cuz of high amounts of hurricane and not haves basement will keep your home insurance down. Also having master bedroom on first floor is again something they are incorporating now here in America due to good health and people living longer and having elderly parents live with you. Normally we don’t have master bedrooms on first floor.

I think you need to visit other states in America as houses do have basements. Maybe limited in Florida due to hurricanes but other states have homes with basements.
