Kids never needed to run prolonged mileage to exercise. They just ran around the yard/court with friends. This is the type of tutorial that will help athletes run more efficiently. That means energy saved. Less stress on your knees/back/ankles, faster times, etc.

I call BS on that. This video is very good, but you cannot improve running form suddenly, from one run to the other, unless you ran the second 5k in at least twice the time. Which would also explain why you felt like you could do another 5k.

I’d call myself an intermediate runner. I’ve struggled to run properly the whole time though. My calves or Achilles’ tendon would burn and sometimes my hips would ache. However, after watching this video, I practiced running like this, and it’s much more efficient. No aches, pains, or inflammation. I even ran a lot faster with ease. This video was a lifesaver. Now I can enjoy running without any pain.

For me, this was the single best piece of advice for preventing knee pain. As I get more tired, this still allows me slow down without going too heavy on the knees. If I feel good, the transition between times makes so much sense. I wish I had known this 30 years ago when I was younger. I feel this would have sent me to that next level of running It also explains how the world class runners looks the same between the beginning and finish. Consistent cadence with stride changes.

I literally can’t thank you enough. You saved my running! About a month ago, I finished the couch to 5k and have been running about 3x 5ks a week; however, I have been struggling with shin pain. Nothing major but a little tender, and I just felt like I was heavy on my feet all the time. You hear so much about a mid-foot stricking; I was so focused on not running on my heels and trying to get mid-foot that I didn’t realise I was still probably overstriding. I adopted your technique today, and although I felt a little odd and slow to start with, I soon got used to it. My run felt much better than many of my previous, and you helped me shave four and a half minutes off my 10k record to a sub 60 at 58:57, so thank you so so so so much. Edit: ok, after having a fantastic run, my calves are now killing me. From what I have read so far, this is due to forefoot stricking, which seems to be what this technique is. So now I am stuck again with an injury 😢

This really is a miracle cure for overstriding. Been struggling my whole life to get my cadence above 166, and to land anywhere other than my heel. 5 minutes of this, and I'm bouncing along on my forefoot at up to 190bpm. One problem, though - it seems to cause pain my low hamstrings. Hopefully this will cure itself in time, as I've changed a lot, in a short space of time. Can't recommend this enough.
@masuooo4452
@masuooo4452 Год назад
In running your supposed to be working your hamstrings and glutes so now that your doing the correct form then thats why.I suggest doing strength training so that your lower body gets stronger and your core (since it balances your body while you run)
