I'm not sure if you'll ever read this, but City of Hope is amazing. The doctors there treated my father's stage 4 lung cancer. He was given a 2 year life expectancy, but they gave him an extra 8 years of a truly high quality life. He unfortunately passed away 2 weeks ago, but I'm forever thankful to the doctors there ❤

Thank you for not censoring symptoms like blood in the stool. Deseases like Chrons, Colitis and other types of IBD are overlooked because of stigma and taboo. It takes bigger voices, like your own, talking freely about serious health concerns, to break down the conversational barriers. Hope everything works out for you, Jay.
@BC-ji9xr
@BC-ji9xr Месяц назад
I agree. I had the same issues and had to have blood transfusions and surgeries to fix the blood issues. An easy way to tell if you are anemic for a long period of time, your nails will concave. The nails will never recover but it's easy for anyone reading to check. The other problem is supplements like iron and such won't work if your body can't absorb it which is another problem. Side note if you need to eat and calm the digestive system is to take cannabis. CBD might work, but the state I'm in now prescribes cannabis to help calm down the digestive system and allow time to absorb the nutrients needed. On a good note, once your levels are backup, you feel like a super human for a couple weeks.
@Garbox80

Colitis was my first thought, but they did colonoscopy. Chrons is usually in small intestine and I don't know if they checked that yet. They're probably checking easier and more likely (and serious, even though Chrons can be bad too) options.

@@BC-ji9xr I miss the days of my youth where I felt superhuman after getting over illness. I remember being laid on the couch from a bug for a week straight. Took 2 days before I was actually able to drink fluids. I just laid there and watched the first 2 seasons of The Walking Dead (which is what I felt like). Then by next week, I felt like I could fly! I was 25 then. Last time I experienced that feeling was a couple years ago (when I was 35) when I got my first Covid vaccine. For about 8 hrs I had so much energy and felt great, then it hit and I was in bed for the next day, then back to my normal "meh".

Yeah, I know from experience that cancer sucks. Have my left femur held together by a metal plate and 8 screws. Surprisingly that doesn't set off metal detectors at the airport. But people have more options today for fighting cancer than when I had it. Me it was chemo therapy. That was about 22 years ago. But others its radiation. But now if cancer responds well to it, they can train your immune system to fight the cancer cells and kill it on its own.

They pay for your travel, food, assistance with lodging. 4 to 5 cups of coffee is the daily maximum recommended amount. No offense but How are you still alive from that amount of caffeine?
@rokko_hates_japan
@rokko_hates_japan Месяц назад
They probably built up a tolerance. For caffeine-free people, even a little has a big effect. But the more often you consume, the less the affect, and the more you need to get a kick.
@piktasniekas8124

@@rokko_hates_japanYeah, that's definitely true to some extent. I haven't felt any effect of caffeine for years (although I can't remember it ever having any big effect, but memory of decades past is a fickle thing). I drink coffee because I like the taste and that's about it. I consume probably about 30-100g of coffee beans every single day (so should be ~1-3 grams of caffeine). That's not small numbers, but I imagine that would still be considered rookie numbers by anyone living around the mediterannean.

@paradoxicalmadness4507 Judging by the movies, I imagine many americans drink water not coffee... I wouldn't be surprised if a "pot" has less coffee in it than a typical double espresso (15-20 grams of beans). You could also make a single cup out of 100g of beans, if you really wanted to (might need to do some boiling and concentration, but it's probably not too hard to do). So, if you want to get even a remotely accurate read on caffeine consumption, you gotta measure the coffee beans used to make the drinks, not the number of drinks. P.S. 4-5 cups of typical coffee is definitely not a limit for any coffee drinker and it's definitely "safe" to consume a lot more (just don't do it all at once and drink enough water (coffee is most definitely not a replacement for water, as it's a strong duretic)). Obviously, things like this are very individual; if some1 feels terrible after just 1 cup, then maybe even 1 cup is not "safe" and should not be consumed. And the 100g/cup coffee - yeah, don't try that - that's probably not safe to consume for anyone, in any amounts.

I've been through all of this... literally the exact same symptoms, and it's super frustrating not having answers. Even after I was diagnosed, I had AN answer, but it opens the doors to a lot more questions and doctors don't always have the answers... unfortunately. I found that I had to learn how to read and understand medical studies and do my own research, and talk to my doctors about it, and it's really tough finding good ones. I really do hope you get answers quickly. I know how much this utterly sucks.

My experience is fairly similar as well and i share the frustration. I’ve had many tests done and I mostly have hints of issues at like low b12, low testosterone, and other anomalies that seem to come and go randomly.
@TheGameBench
@TheGameBench Месяц назад
@@billjohnson6863Yep, for me it's usually B12, D3, Calcium and Iron. Calcium is an interesting one, because even if you're not anemic, if you're low on calcium, it hinders the red blood cells ability to transport oxygen. I've been dealing with them long enough that I can tell when I'm low without a blood test, but finding the right supplements make it super easy to manage. Iron is a bit tricky though because you really should only take iron supplements under the supervision of a doctor, as in they should be keeping track of your iron levels, as overdosing on iron can be deadly. I have been low on testosterone in the past, but I haven't checked it lately. Even if I am, I'm a bit concerned about the shots as it seems anything you might take to bring those levels up carry a risk of blood clots, and having had to deal with those, I think I'd rather deal with the low T than worry about that again. Digestive issues are the worst, because if your digestive tract isn't working right... it's going to cause a lot of other things not work right.

Long shot, but if you are a snorer at all, have you been screened for Sleep Apnea (do a sleep study)? I was literally feeling tired all the time and feeling worse AFTER resting and sleeping until I had a sleep study and was diagnosed with apnea. 6 months later I am 95% better after using a CPAP. It's literally like going from not sleeping in years and being kind of a zombie to being yourself again and feeling actually rested. I am also anemic with low iron and vitamin D and other micronutrients and we are still trying to figure that out. But energy wise this was a game changer. Throwing it out there just in case. Sleep is key.

Have you consulted a spine specialist to find the proper bed for you? 99% of people need an adjustable bed frame from what I’ve learned, to keep proper spine alignment and minimize snoring.

was gonna suggest this, a lot of people out there with untreated sleep apnea, unfortunately the treatment does not work for everyone though. i went in for a sleep study, cost me my drivers license and my job... pissed me off at first, but i guess it is a good thing im not out there driving! at this point i am so tired and worn out that i am seriously considering an amphetamine addiction and just let it rip until its over... 😵‍💫 why not... 🤪
@KS-in-Vancouver
@KS-in-Vancouver Месяц назад
@@ralphbooger4756Yeah, I'm glad the CPAP is working okay for me so far. I'm in Canada so the sleep study was covered thank God. I went to a ENT specialist and he said I could do the surgery but it would only improve me by like 10%/20% of what the CPAP is doing, and I might still need the CPAP after. I was a little self-conscious about being the weird guy always taking around the machine when traveling but OMG it's so worth it to actually feel better and not worse after sleeping. I really wouldn't recommend the stimulant addiction! You will just crash worse all the time. I have also been on ADHD meds (for ADHD) before and it just tricks you into feeling awake even though you are actually still mentally tired. The brain fog doesn't go away. Fix the sleep at all costs and all areas of your life will improve for sure because your brain and health will come back. Wishing you the best!
