When buying Steinhart watches you get immense value for the money. Brands such as Fortis, Sinn, etc, will charge three times as much for the same movement, Fortis will in fact only offer divewatches with 200 m waterresistance as opposed to Steinharts 300 m. They WILL go up in price as second hand items. The brand itself is very popular on both the American and Asian markets and the ageing Günther Steinhart will eventually have to close his operation either due to lack of cost efficiency viability, a possible war with China, or in the event of either his death or retirement. Steinhart Watches are build to last, are very popular and cannot be obtained in a similar design from other manufactures - Who else will produce a Rolex Milsub or Starbucks model at that price of such high quality - Prices WILL go up !
Hi, i got my Batman 39 with Jubilee strap today, and I am very happy with it! I was looking for some reviews on the net and I found your excellent video! I immediately subscibed to your channel. Kind regards from Pécs, Hungary!
Great review! I picked up the vintage blue and red 39 gmt last year and love it. Might have to get this as well. I’ve always loved the Batman but the price of the real thing just keeps climbing, it’s insane.
I'm the 200th like on this video ;) !! And I completlely agree with you about steinahrt quality... I've got an "ocean two premium" ( black) .... that is more a steinhart "own design" than a "hommage" and I like it maybe more thant my other watches.... It's a perfectly versatile diver, rough, big presence, very fine and well designed dial, very classy for a diver, perfect general quality feeling, very precise sellita sw300 élaboré premium that keeps perfect time within +4 s/ day after one month of wearing... Think I'll be soon buy another one... GMT surely ;) Hi from France ! Merry Christmas everybody !!
Nice review. A great piece. I like mine a lot. Based on the movement, I think yours has the Sellita SW 330. The Rotor looks different on the Eta. Both excellent movements!
This is my daily driver and I happy with it. Two gripes: To be functional as a GMT bezel, it should be bidirectional and 24 click. This is a unidirectional bezel and not 24 click. Also, when you change the local time as you travel, the second time hand (the GMT hand) also changes. Would be better if it didn't.
LOVE my Steinhart Ocean GMT. Yes, it is an homage to the Rolex Explorer II (1655) that was made from the early 70s to the early 80s. But it is no longer made...and used examples in decent condition go for about $30,000 USD! So the Steinhart gives me all the pleasure of that UNIQUE design for just $500 USD. And it is a better watch than that original Rolex! Milled clasp rather than stamped steel, sapphire crystal rather than plexiglass, a water resistance of 300 metrs rather than 50, and an independently setable GMT hand! It is a beautiful, rugged, exceptionally high-end watch. Steinhart rocks!
Got e same exact model in a jubilee bracelet for 6 mths already.. & loving it..!! It has become my top 3 watches, along wit my Hamilton Khaki & Seiko SKX.. Its running +8/9 spd out of e box & has stayed like tat since.. Wats yours..? Cheers fr Singapore..!
