Today we continue building the next section of mountain. This part is pretty exciting because it includes a creek. We still have so much left of the mountain to build, but I think it's looking great so far!

The mountain needs a BRICKSIE lettering like the ‘Hollywood’ sign in LA! That would be epic and on Brand! Boom! Best idea ever 😊

I love your new city. Disney use false perspective to make things seem higher than they are. An example of this is to put the big trees at the bottom and the smaller ones as you go up. This gives the illusion of them being further away. Just a thought! :)
@AidanRickard
@AidanRickard 23 дня назад
The way the river curves at the top is looking much better and less square than any of your previous rivers. Perhaps try applying that same principle to some of the country roads you have planned out as well.

The creek looks great and seems ideal to motorise the final waterfall drop using translucent blue garage doors, rotating with lights behind. Nice work 👍💪🏻

I love how this mountain is turning out but I do believe we could make the creek even better if it digs into the terrain a little more like a real mountain creek. Of course that could also be done with a second creek somewhere else on the mountain

Suggestion: move Ninjago down and to the right. Ninjago is awesome. The downtown core is awesome. The beach is awesome. These new mountains are REALLY awesome. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME! The problem is that Ninjago is aesthetically quite different from the more realistic city below. I like having it in the city, but I don't think it looks as good floating above the zoo and the beach, even after it gets its finishing touches. Having a lake above the mountains, the brightly colored fanciful buildings, and the difference in tone and scale between the natural world just below and the Ninjago city is a little jarring. Here's what I've been thinking the past few weeks (yep, I think about your city throughout the day.) What if you put Ninjago on the right side of the city, just above the raised platform coverings. Then you could have the mountains rise behind it, you'd have a more realistic lake location, and you'd get some added "skyscraper" height for the backdrop of the downtown core, but most importantly, the first impression of the city from the main view would be realism with both city and nature. As a bonus, you could make a "Chinatown" type area up there, with the tranquil garden, modularized noodle restaurant, spring lantern festival and a near dragon gate as an entrance for added cohesion. I think it could solve multiple issues at once and would hardly encroach on what I assume was going to be mountain space.

Pleeeeeeeease add a mountainboard mini figure or 2 when you add the inevitable bikers on the mountain. It would be so cool to be represented in such an awesome build. I think with everything you have accomplished so far in 6 months, itll relatively be the same amount of time and energy youll need to just complete the mountain/Ninjago city, train/boat yard, and country side. The mountain looks like itll be a pretty huge task for easily the next couple months. Also Im fairly certain there will be tons of trials and errors on that by itself. Im really looking forward to how seeing how the mountain, tunnels, and Ninjago city will shape up by the end of the year.

It's looking a lot better. I love the waterfall stream as it flows in a natural meandering way. In real life generally construction follows the contour of the mountains, that's why you get so many curvy wavy roads. Yes some things cut through but in general people say "oh such and such is a beautiful picturesque drive" because it meanders along the natural landscape. Just something to consider. I think what throws me is the vegetation all being basically the same green as the grass, that does not happen alot in real life. Even greenery around rocks etc isn't usually bright lush green. I'd love to see more olive colour used.

Bricksie, what about if you did like a vertical cross-section of the mountain at the access holes in the table instead of repeating the rocky cliff edge you did on the front side. Something where you can have like a cave or an old mineshaft, maybe some old Rock Raiders LEGO sets digging in the side of the mountain and maybe like a dinosaur fossil Easter eggs.

Could use some of those transparent bricks you are using for mils to add some variation to the waterfalls with the 1x1 rounds, would be interesting, or some 1x1 round bricks as well, Overall looks great!, thinking 10% of the waterfalls so one or two bricks in each step not be 1x1 round would make it look less uniform Love the detail on the stream though its 99% perfect.

Instead of the tunnel going across, maybe make it like a tunnel that is a hill that connects to the Ninjago city giving you a road that connects both sections. Can do the same with one of the train tracks thst can also lead into an elevated line giving it the elevated train a way to connect with the lower lines. Can do a lot with that mountain and too level to create some interesting connections from up to lower level.

12:30 I really still don’t understand why you don’t use that exact same principle in the downtown area, just visually chop it up in big sections and adjust the height accordingly. It would make all those problems with the bridges, water, railroad go away and it would even make the city more realistic. The best part is it would still be modular! (Like the Ninjago buildings are still all on the same height)

Nothing says the tunnel needs to be straight.... may be kinda neat to put it by the table opening so you could have a couple plates of the tunnel that are built like a shadow box showing a portion inside of the tunnel? Maybe with some other Easter eggs sprinkled in(cave with bears hibernating or a gold/gem mine for the snow white story plates)
