Yeah I would’ve liked to go more in-depth there but unfortunately it’s tough to cram it all in 60 seconds 😅 using it in M/S mode is a solid tip for sure!!

Hope to get your input from my other comment, involving cubasis 3.. im kinda new to mixing an it doesn't have the "bus" option, only insert an send effects as far as I know.. so im trying to fig out the way to do these steps using cubasis3.. any help is greatly appreciated!!

@@UziBlancoOfficialmy apologies, i get so many comments nowadays that it’s tough to get to all of them in a timely fashion. I’m not familiar with cubasis3 but it is common that these things are sometimes labelled differently. The SEND option may work if you’re able to configure the routing for parallel style FX liek reverb, delay, or even parallel compression. If it has a GROUP option to put tracks together, you may also want to use that. Or even duplicating your OG audio track and then processing and combining with the dry duplicate (but pay attention for phase issues/cancellation). Lots of ideas here so just throwing em all at you, but hopefully some of these terms alone help you find something else with additional searching 👊🏼

I'm trying to learn like what "mid side processing" and "side chain whatever" actually mean an what they do for your mixing/mastering an honestly bro, I'm about fuggin lost dude.. im new to alot of this part of the process an when you don't know what the words or phrases mean to begin with its kinda hard to understand what it is there actually doing and being that I do EVERYTHING from writing the songs,recording them, mixing mastering ect. All Myself, its alot to take in for somone whos never had a musical lesson in his life.. so just wanna THANK YOU for any help given, its GREATLY appreciated!!!

Will greatly depend on the vocal, these are general starting points that work more often than not. BUT like everything in mixing - use your ears and adjust to taste 🤘🏻

@@5piece True! A5 is the top of a soprano range which is around 900hz, for the male vocals and Altos im used to working with 900hz is usually the 1st or 2nd harmonic. All depends

Hate when people comment on a 60 second short expecting a long form breakdown 🙄 I’ve got an entire channel filled with long form content that shows off most if not everything mentioned in depth. Plus why would I teach you how to produce with tape or analog gear when I don’t do that? I teach you what I ACTUALLY do as a full time mixing engineer that makes a living in music. Don’t like it? We’ll, sorry chief, this ain’t the channel for you then.

Sure, it’s great if you got money, the studio has competent engineers you vibe with and you don’t want to personally do the nitty gritty. Believe it or not, even pro engineers struggle with mixing vocals over pre-mixed 2 track beats, so as convenient as it is, it ain’t always a solution 😢
