Just love the “take your own medicine” quote. Golf is such a personal sport in its application and approach, again great tips Mark 👍🏻

I love Mark's approach to golf instruction rather than the cookie-cutter instructors I've been subjected to. There are a lot of ways to get the ball to the hole. I think Mark and Coach will get you sorted out.

Began having lessons in my 4th decade, best value for money in golf, really enjoy learning not just to get better but also the mechanics

Love that these tips make so much sense. Every golfer is different. Face to path matchups need to work…but how we make them work may be unique. I guess it helps me to go back and really learn to “play” again when it comes to practicing silly shots, being creative, and learning through fun. Thanks Mark!

Totally agree with the consistent coach message. I have the same for 3 years. See them every 3 weeks but the key is that they design a plan for the sessions as opposed to reacting to how I’ve played that week etc. Also split the sessions…for example not always in the range doing the same thing, move to short game area or move to the course so as to apply range sessions teaching to actual on course

Hi Mark, I really liked your most recent podcast on face control - there was a part where you were describing how to affect loft and you were explaining how you can do so without twisting the handle, leaning etc. I'd love for you to make a video on that because I think it was a bit difficult to visualise what you were trying to get across - especially when you were explaining it to Lou - I got a bit lost and confused, but I would really like to see it! Cheers Bruv 🙂

Makes so much sense ...I'd never actually thought about the grip for the whole bag and how it translates to woods and wedges ...Only ever looked at the grip with a 7 iron! I tend not to touch the grip (unless it's for a beginner) that early in a journey of improvement ...I use it to fine tune a good swing instead of fix a fault as I feel it's often a temporary fix and the underlying fault returns bigger If I get them hitting it better in general, a grip change is more acceptable/digestible as the balls going good with the discomfort

These are great reminders of things we all should know but sometimes they get lost or need to be brought to the forefront of our golfing thoughts, basics boys , great reminders 😉

Great video Mark. Exactly what ive been thinking the past few years as I use overlap for driver and interlock for all other clubs and my mates thought I was crazy!

Love tip 2 .. makes me feel better about my grips .. I change my grip so often when I play depending on the club I’m using .. I use babes all with driver and hybrids at neutral, irons interlock at stronger and wedges overlap at neutral .. but sometimes i tweak them depend and on shape I’m trying to hit

All the advice I've ever seen regarding modifying the face to path is to NOT change your grip, but simply point the face open or closed and THEN take your same grip. Accomplished the same goal but then doesn't have you messing around with your grip and potentially introducing uncertainly or inconsistency there.
@jeremysturgill7465
@jeremysturgill7465 Год назад
I like these tips. Personally, I'm not a fan of adjusting grip to change ball flight during play. I prefer to feel the release and path changes in the practice swings to shape the ball. If I need to massively shape the ball I will set up with the face slightly more open or closed to my stance also, but I keep the same grip for all shots.

Let's see..... A Hat with Srixon on the front and Cleveland on the side. A Cleveland hybrid to start with and a Srixon Driver later on. Maybe not germane to the topic but I bet you are a Srixon and Cleveland fan.

I struggle to understand why people talk about strong and weak grips so much. As far as I can tell, a strong grip is just a neutral grip with the club face closed - no difference functionally at all. What am I missing? Why coach grip changes rather than club face at address changes? Are you expecting the player to hold their strong grip angle -> weird wrist positions throughout the swing?

Tip 1: Don't count the bad hits. Tip 2: An approximate golf score is best rounded down. Tip 3: Even liberal interpretations of golf rules are unfair and should not be followed
