The egg mix in an OJ bottle is a great idea. When you're grinding your pepper and salt in the backcountry, you know you're having a good time! That river trail looked super scenic with the snow, especially that lookout. Thanks for documenting it all!
This fellow has to be the all round best scenic photographer of any of the wilderness hikers and survival videos I have seen. Well done Hurlgoat for your Awesome Photography.
Hello my outdoors friend. Thank you for sharing this fine video. You really know how to chow down in the outdoors. That dinner was a gourmet meal. I am really sorry that I missed your dinner invitation. I would have brought my appetite and some cold beers. Please take good care out there, be safe and always have fun. See you on the next one. 🤗
Thank you for the epic view. Also enjoyed seeing the pure passion you have for what you do. The excitement that came over you at the lookout was priceless bro.
awesome day in the snow!! excellent you have the car near the camp and can go out on day adventures and still camp in the forest, so many great views in this one thanks for taking us with you!
Loving the series, wow that looks like fun, and for days, not some quickie overnighter! Each meal looks fantastic but I'd have to be 35 years younger to eat like that. Each of your meals would feed me at least twice! Sure looks good, great skills with the fire and food.
I don't know how I ended up in your channel but I'm really glad i did. this is just plain awesome. thank you for sharing this experience and this series.
If you take a water bottle with warm water in it and stash it in the cooler at night it will keep your grub from freezing. Put it in a sock or mitten and it releases the heat even slower. Doing some great videos. Keep it up.
In really cold temps I took an extra couple water bottles, put boiling water in them and dropped them in an old wool sock, I then put them in the cooler. I kept my extra batteries and any other electronics that I was worried about in there. Usually only had to do this at night but sometimes in the day as well depending on how low temps went. One in the morning and then one before bed kept everything unfrozen or unfrosty no issue. Thanks for sharing!
Just subscribed to your channel. I literally can't watch your videos without a light snack. Your food looks so good it makes me hungry. Your surroundings are so beautiful. Another great relaxing video. Thank you.
Nice video GOAT ! haha what a beautiful park, the look off and river was amazing. It still amazes me how much you eat haha you eat enough for two people easy lol Thanks for taking us along buddy !
Have you elaborated on how you stay warm at night? Only in the first video you mentioned hot water bottle etc but itd be cool to see how you stay warm all night long. I love your videos and enthusiasm
Hurlgoat!!! I thought you were making breakfast for two or maybe three LOL! But I have watched long enough to know that that "cast iron" stomach of yours can hold a boat load of grub. Your vids are really great - always.
That’s a decent hack with the eggs, I’ve had a couple disasters with ziplock bags lol. Cheers bro, thanks for sharing. It keeps me sane when I’m waiting on my next adventure.
Just discovered you and I love watching your videos. I've never hiked before or really camped, and this week I've decided that I'm hiking the PCT. Your videos have really been helping me to get somewhat accustomed (I'm a visual learner) and they are extremely enjoyable, optimistic, and inspiring. Thank You.
Thanks Gretchen, up until 2014 I had never hiked a day in my life and hiked the Colorado Trail and the John Muir Trail, I was 28years old then and getting into hiking is the best thing I've ever done for myself, good luck on your PCT hike, if you have any questions I'd love to help out!
@@HurlgoatHiker I've watched the first 34 days of your videos and I've been also researching simultaneously while doing this. I'm in the beginning stages of collecting information and creating a plan. I applied for a permit earlier and it looks like everything's full until June 😐 really thankful I found your channel and had some divine inspiration. I remember watching Wild sometime ago and thinking in passing how amazing it would be to go on a long distance hike. It was out of reach then and I completely forgot about it until now. Coming across the community of pct hikers on here and your videos helped relight that fire. I'm happy, I feel strongly that I have some direction and I'm embarking on the correct path for myself, with a sense of purpose. Thank You
Man, I’d love to take a trip to Algonquin! Probably not in the winter though, I’d want to canoe, fish, & swim if it worked out! I’m ready for the rest of this trip. Take care brother.
Man. Your so happy. How? I must know. But here in the southern US. Our winters are wet. So not much winter camping gets done here. But come spring it’s on baby.
Great vids I was wondering what happened to ur solar panels on the last half of PCT did they not do the job? Also the East Coast trail is calling and do Gros Morn it's amazing. Cheers
Thanks Bill, I found that I didn't really need it after i bought a power pack, it did work well thou! really helped me out on trail and worked well the entire time using it.
Another great video!! I enjoy your sense of humor. What a great looking breakfast and supper. Hurlgoat, you should do some videos on cooking outdoors over an open fire, your an expert a it and it looks sooooo good! I noticed that you collected water today at an open stream. Do you need to filter your water in the winter time or can you drink it like that without filtering? Thanks again for making a great video.
Thanks Buddy, I boiled the water and usually just drank my water as hot tea, but did filter a few liters of water when I went on my hikes. My rule of thumb is just filter or boil everything and I've never gotten sick off any water sources , and theres been a lot on my many hiking trips.
Great video, as always. Thanks for sharing, very nice park with beautiful scenery. Have you ever considered doing the "Hot Tent" camping? I want to try it, been looking at teepees and woodstoves. You are using a Pulk Sled anyways to carry your gear. I'm thinking that would be the best way to enjoy winter camping.
I'm on my second time watching this one, 1st time I guess I got here early and RU-vid still hadn't converted the upload to 1080p, so I watched it in 360p. That trail looked so beautiful _even_ in 360p. After I finished the first go around, I reloaded the video and now it's available in 1080p (my how we have been spoiled with hd). Now I just have to rewatch all those snow covered trail shots:) Fantastic man. Thanks! E: Man, I really love those falling snow shots. Soo peaceful looking
Hi... Wow... great video. awesome and wonderful trip. thank you so much for sharing this video. super wonderful and beautiful places. Love from Malaysia < Shah >
@norm lor Oh my god! It’s the outdoors, not a play park! You do realise that it’s not someone else’s job to make the whole world safe for your offspring?
Shit I had a nice comment and hit cancel.. Now I hope your not like a lot of people in America who will ruin a good piece of Rib Eye by cooking it well done , it better be pink or red , mine is med rare. It's been a bit since the last video , have you moved to Lethbridge yet?? Hopefully your indoors now with the Polar Vortex hitting the Midwest with that frigid temperatures . Is it as cold in Canada with the minus and the wind chills?
You spoiled this camping trip for us by going back to your car.We want to see 100% camping in the wild with no modern assistance such as a car.Hope you get what I means.
