A learning phase is also worth mentioning - sometimes it can take a while before an ad becomes optimized, and during the learning phase results can be much worse than when your ad stabilizes.

I always use campaign budget optimization on all of my campaigns whether I have one ad set or many. I'll start with stories placements in a new ad account and add in additional placements once I have something that's working. Thanks for watching!
Then make sure you're using conversion ads. I do my best to speak to everyone on my channel, but as a US citizen, I tend to lean toward that audience. If you're in one of those countries, try targeting only your country using conversion ads and pay close attention to the results. If your music and your ads are in the native language of your country, you'll likely have much better results than those who speak another language. Great question. Thank you for asking it.

I personally like the art and performance ads better than the talking-style ads, at least for music. For sales or audience growth directly on IG, talking can work, but I like positioning the music first instead of me just jabbering on for music ads. That's my thought process at least.

I've tested that in the past, but this is one of the big reasons for my ad creative redesign I mentioned at 8:02. Using only the Spotify logo instead of "Listen on Spotify" keeps the ad language agnostic. The native "Listen Now" CTA is in the user's default language, so this new ad type is more effective in international markets.
Hey Tom, great video! Why do you prefer Advantage+ placements to Manual Placements? I have always used Manual Placements because the ads I create are all short videos I have created that include my music. I am under the impression that this becomes useless when the placements are only an image such as in Instagram Shop or In article. Please let me know what you think.
