I have a 1965 LG-1 that I bought on eBay in 1999 for $475 in practically new condition. I absolutely love it. Another great reason to get one is the smaller size makes it ideal for playing when you are sitting on a couch or bed, it's very comfortable.

Nice old Gibson. They’re going for big $$ now. The Ladder brace gives it a Percussive/Nasal tone- great for old time blues. I bought my 1958 LG-1 for $500 8 years ago. Not as clean but solid. I X-Braced it 7 years ago and now it sounds like a pre war L-00 -huge rich tone. Almost equal to an old 1950 J-45.

Great review. Picking up a 1965 LG1 tmrw. It looks amazing and I can’t wait to play it. It looks wonderful aside from one crack. Been playing my dads 1969 Goya for 6 years

I have her brother- 1964 LG1, 235748. Bought it in 1970 in Ann Arbor for $100. Originally the top warped with the plastic bridge. Punchy guitar with lots of sustain. No sound hole sticker, like mine.

I have my grandfathers 63 LG-1. Mom left it in an attic for 25 years and the old plastic bridge got cracked to shit, so I had a new rosewood bridge made along with a new bridge plate. The sucker rings like a bell.

In my opinion waterloo makes the best version of a modern day ladder braced guitar. The time tested and proven gibson acoustic that does everything well is the american work horse. The iconic j45. Fact....

I dunno man---my $300 vintage Harmony sounds just as good to me. The letters "Gibson" on the headstock of a guitar makes it sound better to a lot of players.
