If you are near water and the water is next to a hill of grass a rare bad guy will come in the night its some sort of alian i know because he killed me once so be careful around a hill next to a river

Now you're starting to understand playing survival Minecraft; it's a learning experience. You're also half wrong about pretty much everything but you somehow come to the right conclusion. It's pretty awesome. Take Gold for example; 1st) mine it with anything other than an iron or diamond pickaxe and you won't get the block and, 2nd) Gold ore spawns in at the same level as Diamond ore (which also needs an iron/diamond pickaxe to mine). That means if you find gold ore, you're low enough to find diamonds, but other then that the placement of the ores is completely unrelated.
