Wow is he good! Wow. Since getting the Carv inserts about 6 weeks ago, I have watched EVERY video you have out out religiously. This video makes me realize I actually didn't "get it" until skiing today with respect to the mechanics of carving, and feeling the centripital force when the ski edges are at the right angle, which then gives you the momentum to effortlessly let your skis glide back under you and then change edges and shift weight for the next turn. Once I felt that feeling today, I let it repeat over and over again on Active Coach and racked up 20-30 turns in a row for each category Active Coach was having me do. I must have earned more than 700 XP in 4-5 runs. You guys might want to think about doing videos of the "aha" moments for those intermediate skiers who start to "get it" and then watch them go from Ski IQ 100+ to carving cadet and beyond. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the pros shred and seemingly defy physics, but it's far more relatable for people using your inserts to see people like them crossing a threshold they are at themselves. By the way, your inserts are fantastic. I've only been skiing a total of ~4 seasons, and I can outpace my wife who's been skiing since she was 6!

Thats awesome to hear - a big part of our goal with Carv is to shorten the feedback loop to get it as fast as possible, so I'm happy to hear its working for you! thanks for your kind comments on our vids and keep up the improvement!

Components to the discussion: ski turn radius. Desired turn shape. Steepness of the run. Hardness of the snow. These variables are Critical to the discussion. Things like : upper body alignment: like outside elbow held high vs low. Inside hand / shoulder rotation rotation. Outside ski weight/ pressure dominance.

I only got five days on my carve plates this year, and my goal was to get aus pisten In the powder that we had. But in between, I was skiing, with so much more self-awareness, applying these videos, and turn by turn feedback, I could see. when reviewing the previous runs from the gondola, like it’s different, and I think it’s a better way for me to ski on the slopes, and in the crud. I think it’s a better use of the strength and frame, it’s safer, it’s smoother. it looks better, more classic more refined. It’s definitely more control than chopping a turn on steep ice. In the context of other investments in time and instruction and money and also skiing with my 20 yo something kids. Carv and Stomp are keeping me interested. And I’m enjoying it.

CARV-ers, in the video, I noticed the CARV-GOAT (aka Ted) appears to be using adjustable poles. I'm enjoying CARV! Could you offer insight if Ted will modify pole length based on using CARV? Cheers!!!

We can’t speak for Ted, but many high level instructors like to adjust their pole length depending on what they are skiing

In carving does inclination happen first than angulation to produce higher edge angles?
@CarvSki
@CarvSki 5 месяцев назад
You need a combination of both - but we’d say that angulation happens first, as you can incline until the forces increase - otherwise you’ll be on the inside ski

Compared to most pros I noticed 5ed has very little angulation but huge inclination.
