I did this serve a bunch and was getting aces and old people started complaining and taking my points back for “not dropping the ball correctly” or “not having an upward motion” but my motion is 1000% upward they were just getting beaten 10-1
I've been unknowingly using this serve in my local rec play. I started playing 3.5 months ago, and now my serve is getting negative attention by those I'm passing in skill. Not wanting to argue, but rather wanting to play, I switched to a milquetoast underhand topspin serve. My limited play in ping pong had me evolve to this slice serve for PB. Guess I'll save it for the better players. Great instructional though.
Yeah I’ve noticed how pissy the boomers get when you beat them 😂 I can’t even hit a good serve without them complaining. I now just tone down all my play and play for fun. It does suck not being able to spin or be competitive without all the arguments about what’s a legal serve. You could do it EXACTLY by the official pickleball rules, and if you’re getting too much spin etc, or getting aces, someone will inevitably complain
I FINALLY got the curve today but watching this video!!! It was a spectacle to behold Cant wait to practice more of them. Loved this short and sweet break down!
It is really again the porpoise of the game. The game designed seniors to exercise easily buy the way to serve it does make players hard to return the ball. They need to change the rule.
Why do you need special rules? It's enough to play with similar skills players, who can serve like that can return it as well and vice versa. Now if you are a 4.0 and you play against 3.5 or younger and play against older people of course you will win the game but that's obvious and not fun.
