Im 51. No period for 11 months. Im in a nightmare. I woke up at 2am crying uncontrollably. Hot flashes all night. I feel no love for anyone....nor myself. My 22 year old daughter doesnt even know me anymore and i dont know myself. I was super excited to not get periods, but now my mind feels like its destroyed. It hurts so much to be alive.

Hang in there. Go to your doc and get tested - insist upon it. Get yourself on hrt asap. Check out cyclic hrt too as there seems to be more benefits to taking hrt in the same way as your body would make them. I hope you have knowledgeable providers in your area as I had to spend 10 years fighting with docs to get help. When I went to the doc with these symptoms (and more - weight gain, hair loss, dry skin, memory loss.....) I was recommended to see a memory doctor (can't remember the official title - ironic!), dermatologist for hair loss, dietician for the weight gain (with initial advice being "pull away from the table and do some exercise") and put on anti-depressants which left me like a walking incoherent zombie for 3.5 years. Please don't let them do that to you. If your doctor refuses to do tests for whatever reason, it is possible to get at home tests done and then go to your doc with the results. Do your research so you're armed with info before going in . Mary Claire Haver channel here on youtube has great info and well worth a look. I started hrt just 2 weeks ago and literally after the first day I had no hot flashes, was back sleeping, brain fog was lifting and mood swings had lessened. Also within a few days my blood pressure was back to normal whereby it had been very high for years previous.

@AvogelCoUk I live in Ontario Canada. I risk being locked up and medicated against my will if I reach out. I tried...cops were at my door. I started whispering and I pretended I was the calmest human on the planet, lol. This too small pass. Perimenopause was far worse.

Hi Magnesium Citrate is a good basic one that is usually easily absorbed, approx 150mg twice a day to start with then you can increase, if needed Glad to be of help! Best Wishes Eileen

Can you take magnesium in a tablet and spray it onto your legs as well or is it too much? I make the spray myself so no nasties in the spray, thank you Eileen 🥰

Wow, thank you for addressing this, because at times I DO feel like I'm loosing my mind. it's very disconcerting. And the hot flash I had upon waking up this morning only added to my anxiety. I need to focus on my diet. I always ate pretty healthy, and exercised, but now I have no incentive to do anything. 😔

This is exactly how I felt, and it was incredibly hard to explain. Because I've never felt like this it is so alien, so it does feel like you are going mad. This triggered huge anxiety attacks, I went completely inwards. The GP was very dismissive, but did suggest hrt. It helped for a while, but wasn't a cure. I think magnesium helped, and and managing the anxiety levels- the Dare, app helped me. I'm relieved to say a few years on this has really changed, and I do feel alot better. Thank you so much to explain it. Xxx

Hi there, I too really struggle with anxiety. Did you find it eased as soon as you reached menopause? Xx
@Julie-netball
@Julie-netball 5 месяцев назад
@@helenterry2018 I honestly not sure what's happening with my body, my periods became very erratic and heavier. I had fibroids, which just got worse and I'm bleeding continuously unless I take progesterone, while waiting on a hysterectomy. But after 2 years there has definitely been a shift in my mental state for the better. Whether that is just my body adapting to the hormones depleting, but I do feel better. Thank goodness. Xxx

@@Julie-netball I'm so glad to hear your anxiety has improved. I've always suffered from it but it has quadrupled since the perimenopause hit😢 I've got fibroids as well, no fun at all! Can't wait for the menopause to end!
@Julie-netball
@Julie-netball 5 месяцев назад
@@helenterry2018 Me too, I've often wondered if fibroids makes things worse, or at least add to the anxiety with all the bleeding. My hysterectomy is in 2 weeks, and my ovaries are being removed as well. I will definitely know I'm in menopause then. I hope things improve for you, it really is a difficult time. Xxx

Hi Lisa I've posted a vlog on crying and what you can do to help yourself so please do take a look. If you're really struggling, please do see your doctor as well. For some women, the hormonal flux can be extreme and medical intervention may be needed to help you through this phase, don't suffer on your own www.avogel.co.uk/health/menopause/videos/crying-fear-and-worry-whats-causing-these-emotions/ Best Wishes Eileen

Thabk you for your dedication to helping women. Your voice is very calming for my frazzled nerves during this transition. Ive been experiencing perimenapausal symptoms but still having periods. This month i had no period. Had pms symptoms but no period. Very confusing time. First time to ever skip a period other than pregnancy. Very odd feeling.

Yes ! Strange ! I wish I could explain how I feel. I wish I could explain the sensations that I feel in my body. Hard not to feel crazy. Hard not to worry. My blood pressure is typically on the low side. Seems to be staying much lower but docs all say my heart is good. EKG is good etc. Is it possible that taking magnesium is lowering my blood pressure too much. ??
@AvogelCoUk
@AvogelCoUk 5 месяцев назад
It's unlikely, but why not try missing the magnesium for a couple of weeks and see what happens. Low blood pressure, although isn't as common as high blood pressure, can happen for some women. You could look into the herb Hawthorn, as this is known as a blood pressure balancer Best Wishes Eileen

The scariest part for me is the not caring about anything 😢 that is so not me!!! It’s this feeling of emptiness & disconnect. I watch younger women with their small children and interacting with people and I say to myself “omg it looks so exhausting, how’d I ever do that?” I am 50 with no menstrual cycle for one year so I’m in the center of this at the moment. I pray a lot because I don’t like this menopause phase but I’m trying really hard to accept it and keep reminding myself that it’s just a phase. Thank you Eileen. I came back today to listen again as yesterday I was in such a negative mood and I typed a comment but decided to delete it cause I was not in the best place and didn’t want to out that out to the world. Thank you for being here for us ❤❤❤❤

Hi Nainita For best benefits, magnesium should be taken every day ongoing. You could try the herb Hawthorn as this is often recommended for high blood pressure.
