Thank you for this, I'm 6'7 and there's like only videos for short people to beat tall but barely any tips on how to fight against shorter people when you're crazy tall.

Yea most people chalk it up to "you have a reach advantage, you good" instead of teaching you how to use it. I simply had to figure it out on my own.

I used this in sparring last night at the gym! I was able to catch both of my coaches off balance and knock them on their ass by faking a jab and firing a teep into their stomach. Faking a teep and cutting an angle gave me so much more room and time to throw a counter and not get caught

Great work implementing what you learned Zach, perhaps I'll focus on a full program with these tactics in the future. I just know people chalk it up to having a length advantage without actually teaching what those advantages are, & how to use them, idk where that comes from, when I train guys with talents in power & speed, I don't just say "use it", the how is the key that unlocks its full potential.

Love it! Here in Brazil we have a lot of knowledge in grappling but I feel sometimes we stuggle to find the same at striking. Normally the gyms focus more at the grappling than at the striking in general...

Great vid soo glad I come across this! Like many of the comments there’s soo much on fighting taller fighters than there is on being the taller fighter. Also being a southpaw as well as being tall this vid is even better & exactly what I needed. Thanks 👍🏼🙏🏼

Thanks for this video Paul. I’m 6’4 and trying to figure out how to use what I got. So far I love the teep but when my opponents catches on I don’t have a plan B

Mix up levels with the teep and chain it with the jab. Ex. Teep the thigh, teep the body, rear teep the thigh, fake teep jab, jab - teep, fake teep - jab and so on. Choosing what flows naturally. Mixing those long weapons will occupy space preventing them from getting in that mid-range, eventually it'll make them force an entry or bite on a fake / faint opening up all of your other weapons.

I recently just found this video and would like to implement this strategies, but what i find is that if I’m close enough to jab I’m way to close to not stuff my teep, this leaves me only being able to teep from kicking range and not able to throw a convincing jab into a teep as I would be to close, I tried making my stance wider but then I became too bladed and easy to sweep, any help would be much appreciated thank you. P.s I also have the same problem with kicks sometimes if that matters.

@@ji-di7zr it can be a blessing if you know how to use your length... i use alot of jabs and front kicks... also as you age you will see your friends gain weight and slow down while you will remain slim and fit

Dont take this personally but if you're 6'3 and 130lbs I'd look at putting some weight on. That's not a healthy weight for that height. I'm the same height but at 185lbs same as Israel adesanya. Much better weight where you're still athletic but also strong and have some size to you. As I say dont take this personally but I if you are that weight you need to put some more size on.

@@loznewman1420 yeah i found out recently after eating ice cream and junk food everyday that my body needed calories and fat. Im planning to gain weight but im on a budget and its expensive to do so

@@voke9778 full fat milk is great for weight gain and eat lots of carbs. Make sure you get enough protein too. Most important thing is to be in a calorie surplus for pretty much every day so track them if you're starting out.

Yes mate I was 145 lbs before I started the gym but my diet was awful. Just gotta eat more than you normally do then the same again once you've put a bit of weight on. You can do it without weights but of you're still training muay thai, I'd try and fit some gym sessions in around it to gain strength as well. Get good with your bodyweight so do pull ups dips and even rows and press ups on gymnastic rings are great. Not a very structured answer but hope it helps.

Hey Jon, you are a part of the Academy? We voted and revamped the order of lesson / releases inside the Academy starting from the least specific skills that everyone can use to more specialised skills. It will be released in later months.

Hello Paul! I don’t want to pollute your the comment section, I hope you don’t mind me writing these few lines. (If you want you can delete this) I really appreciate you! I am a 6 7" guy. I've always loved sports. 8 years ago I hit the gym, and I get gains but it hardly seems because I am very tall (And natty :D ). I know that bodybuilding is not my sport BUT Phisically and mentally, I really love the gym, so it turns my everyday activity. Besides, anatomically beign tall I decided it is obligatory for me to train because I want to avoid back pain and knee pain in the future, so i want strong back muscles, strong legs, and strong andkles (Because I have flat feet, whic is being focused to get strong now.) Anyway, I wanted to improve also my cardio, So I started to do Muay thai 2 years ago. ( Sooner I realized, it is REALY hit my cardio :D ) I am not a freak genetic person, BUT realized that muay thai is much better for my lanky shape, beacuse, I improved far more in Muay thai 2 years of training, than 8 years of gym bodybuilding "kinda" training (Though different goals, but I love both.). I am not a competitor, me just a regular guy, who love sports, and and related challenges/proress. In therms, of Muay Thai, I have very very poor hip mobolity. What type of stretches is godd for a tall guy? How can you have such good hip mobility? (To perform high kicks tha way that has to performed :) is really hard for me )

I left a coach I later found out was fraudulent because he REFUSED to acknowledge the techniques and strategies that worked for taller fighters did not work for me. I'm 6 tall feet btw. He always assumed I just wanted to do things my way and didn't wanna acknowledge I wanted to do things according to my body type. It made no sense, I was there for two years. I decided to go ahead and give MMA a try. This time I will find people who are legit and will help me learn how to fight according to my body type.

No, but height is always relative to weight. For example, 6 feet is really tall for 155 lbs. It is average for 170 lbs.
