Excellent and informative video, Cole. Thanks! One question, do you ever use breakaways for your 360s?

I really appreciate that brother. So I have before and they do make fighting the fish nice I almost like the tension that not having one provides in a overcrowded fisheries. I feel like it helps keep the hook dug into their mouth.

Your video’s have been super helpful for me. One chinook related question is how early is too early to fish in spring? Im participating in Fins and Feathers derby this weekend and am wondering if its advantageous to be out there at daybreak beating the water or if the bite doesn’t even start till later on? Thanks again for your vids, keep doing it man its very informative 👍🏻

Honestly brother, I was going to fish it as well. I fished 5 different days without a bite before hand so i decided to not fish it. I would say being on the water by 7 is a solid choice. The bite really from my experience is anywhere from 8-2pm from the fish I have caught in the past but you cant catch a fish unless you have lines in the water! Thanks so much for the support! Good Luck, I hope you catch a big one

@@walkingonwaterfishing Thanks for the reply, thats actually very helpful. My trolling motor only has so much battery so wasting it on some extra early fishing might not be a good idea. If you wind up getting back out there we were able to tie into a keeper last week around 7’ deep using a herring with no dodger.

For me it’s a 3 hour drive to fish for Spring Chinook. I don’t want to invest the time & money on a maybe, when I can catch lots of salmon in the salt & rivers in the fall that are closer to home.. The Springer fishery is just too hit or miss..

That’s fair are there dams on the river you fish? If there are than you can know when a lot are in so you can have the best chance to bonk them!

I live in Washington State & fish just above Astoria Ore. “Cathlamet” is the area. Another frustrating thing is the season has a very short window of opportunity. Right now it’s Sealions & smelt that are in. 4 friends were out last Saturday & saw 4 springers caught. So they’re getting a few. 😂 Thank you.

Dang i totally miss read that while driving. yeah the fall fishery is huge the spring fishery in that area is definatly fast and alot harder to time. i like to fish a little ways up the columbia were tide isnt fluxing the river@@Valco458

I catch spring, fall, and summer chinook from Buoy 10 to Kooskia, Idaho and/or Wells Dam WA and find the springer taste is well worth the drive, wait and effort. DocJim
