Was just there on Saturday. Had our limit of 12 sockeye, fish cleaned and back at the dock by 0600. 20 to 25 feet! Good luck, you're going to slay em!!
I haven't caught a kokanee in twin lakes in 20 years fish and game stopped stocking it a long time ago. And the tagged fish can be worth money it usually says the value on the tag I have caught tagged walleye in pend o reil and steelhead in the Clearwater I have made a thousand dollar's from walleye in pend o reil
Yeah I think I got some miss guided me information haha. Hayden is a pretty fun lake to get out and fish! It’s all good I just hope the new one gets here asap
@@taco472 yeah this video was a little of my normal but it is what it is hahah! I was hoping for a limit of Kokanee and there were none in the lake! People do eat rainbow trout I prefer salmon but that’s just me
@@schultheisa I sent all the info off to the department of fish and wildlife and they are supposed to email me I have yet to hear back I’m excited to know what the deal is!
@@walkingonwaterfishing Interesting. For WA state on the website lists "derby" and you enter the code. Then it tells you what you won and which store to contact in regards. My 14yr old daughter caught one beginning of this season and when we called in from the boat on the rod/reel combo everyone on the boat let out a huge sigh when they said zebco and not lamiglas. lol
FYI, Idaho ’s life jacket regulations also require that children 14 years of age or younger, on board vessels 19 feet or less, must wear an approved life jacket when the vessel is underway. I've just about been ran over by wake board boats out there and i'm on a twenty foot boat. That's the reason for my extremely loud air horns on my boat. Have you made it through the incident safely. Nice looking fish.
24 years ago my wife and I had a modest waterfront home on Hayden lake. When the tourists and the Washingtonians who had summer cabins, left for the season, it was a nice place to live. But during the summer, it sucked. We had a small beach on our property and were constantly chasing off trespassers, even though it was posted. Some of the Washingtonians who had summer cabins on the lake were rude, obnoxious and arrogant. Their dogs ran loose, their kids ran loose and the drove around the lake tailgating the locals. We finally had enough of Hayden lake summers and moved a couple of miles inland. A couple of weeks ago, on a Tuesday, I took our boat down to Sportsman access to launch for a morning of fishing. I was shocked and disgusted with the number of vehicles and trailers which had taken up the launch, many with out of state plates. I left and ended up launching on CDA lake to fish. As far as I can see, the only time worth visiting Hayden lake is early spring and the fall. Too bad, but it's just another price of uncontrolled and unwelcomed growth.
@@nlevis57 man I’m sorry to hear that and you are 1000% spot on with what’s going in on. When we were at sportsman there were mostly cars parked in the boat parking wild honestly
@@walkingonwaterfishing I think if I were you I would take a page out of the ATV/UTV playbook and fly a navigation flag on an 8' pole. A light weight pole and flag wouldn't affect your boat handling but it might be insurance for your safety. I have been a boater and fisherman for 60 years and over my lifetime have owned and operated a couple of dozen boats from paddle to power and from 8' to 24'. I currently have two 18 footers (one for fishing and the other a wooden classic showboat) In my experience, most fishermen are respectful boaters and have a lot more time at the helm. Unfortunately, in my experience, a large majority of recreational boaters are not safe boaters. And often alcohol is thrown in the mix adding gas to the fire! I wish we had more marine patrol to crack down on DUI's and reckless boaters. Stay safe!
All three of you should have your life jackets on, your putting them and yourself at risk. If you think you can put in on after a wreck you will learn a hard lesson.
Yeah that guy was in the wrong for not paying attention. And you’re in the wrong for the kids not wearing life jackets while on the boat, they should be wearing them from the time you leave the dock .
Its so sad anymore use to be an awesome lake but once summer hits the out of staters take over and all us residents gets pushed out but awesome video keep it up.
We rented a cabin out there last summer. I have a big boat and I wouldn't take my wife and daughter out until around 8:00pm. We have the same cabin again next week, and I don't even know if I'm taking the boat. Zero boater etiquette. The big wake boats just make it that much worse. Congrats on some fine fish. Life jackets, life jackets, life jackets. I know it's been hammered but you can't be too safe.
You are 1000% right about the life jackets! Yeah the boater etiquette is absolutely terrible besides being hit they will surf circles around you like the whole lake doesn’t exist! I hope you and your family have a blast!
That person was in the wrong but it is also your responsibility to dodge a collision which waving your hands is the wrong move considering it looks like you had your motor running and chose not to move.
The kids are with you, which makes a man even more mad. Also, luckily for the yuppies, it's why you don't follow them back to the dock and put your hands to good use! Crazy life!!
Nice fishing dude! Hope CDA is on the list. I just caught my limit today thanks to you! They were maybe 10" but they will smoke up nice. Dodger or flasher didn't matter, but a pink wedding ring with pink corn was deadly. My son had a great time fishing and eating the kokanee we caught this weekend. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
I have a 12 foot aluminum boat and I won’t even go out on these bigger lakes because I’m afraid of the other boaters. It’s reached the point now where I feel like I need to bring a deer rifle with me for self protection. The lake is for everyone. I should be able to be out in the middle of some of these big lakes with a float tube and not have to worry about other boaters.
@@mikevanson1335 I know we are never going above 1.2 when they have them off when we are under way they have them on but after this they are wearing them!
@@walkingonwaterfishing I live here in Milwaukie and fish the Wallemette almost daily out of a15 ft drift boat its like The FUCKING GOOGANS aim for you when
There is no shortage of idiots out on Hayden. Glad the good Lord was watching over you and your boys. It's such a great lake for fishing Kokanee but dealing with all the boat traffic certainly takes away from the enjoyment.
