As a person who has worked at amazon that worked hard and also quietly quit during a lunch break. I can confirm that this man is preaching the truth. I lost 20 pounds while working there and going to college at the same time. I only worked there for about a month. 20 pounds in one month is I repeat NOT HEALTHY.

One of the best somewhat recent examples of amazon not caring about their workers is probably when the Mayfield tornado hit their warehouse, all the higher ups were allowed to leave but when the workers tried to leave they were not allowed to, they were forced to continue working while under a tornado emergency (Confirmed large and dangerous tornado).

As a former Amazon employee (at two different warehouses), I can confirm that TOT (time off task) or alternatively, “time theft”, is their biggest oppressive professional practice.

I worked at Amazon for 5-6 years and regretfully have nothing to show for but wear and tear on my body and near ptsd like symptoms when going into large public areas.

I worked 3rd shift at Amazon from 2019-2020 in their fulfillment center, so I just sorted packages all night and this was before the Time Off Task mess that most people know and resent. Even so, when you were sorting packages in your 2-5 aisles (yes, there were days I had to do 5 aisles by myself), the packages would just keep coming and pile up regardless of whether or not you were in those aisles or not. So, while they didn't actively punish us for going to the bathroom while the line was running back then, the extent to which you'd fall behind if you went to the bathroom for even 5-10 minutes was agonizing. I learned real quick to always hold it until they called break (which happened when they felt like it and not at any consistent time in the shift) or the mess I'd walk back to after relieving myself would be about as painful as blowing off my entire leg with an RPG. Even quitting was an aggravating process cause I tried more than once to put in my two weeks notice and had to legitimately show up during the daytime to personally confirm the date of my last day with the HR people, who still nearly fumbled the bag right in front of me. As I've often said, one of the truest signs of an awful job isn't just a revolving door of employees, but a revolving door of MANAGERS, and in the 18 months I spent working there, at least 8 people went in and out of the managing position at the fulfillment center. Burn that entire franchise to the ground.

I worked for them when they opened a new distribution center in my town about 4 years ago. I was the only guy on the sorting line with everyone else being women ( and this is NOT a dig at women because they did work their collective asses off) and it felt like I ended up getting about 95% of all the heavy things so my scan count was always lower than most everyone else because I'm lugging 50 to damn near 100 lbs at a time. Then I got the flu right after Christmas and almost passed out on the sorting belt and missed a few days ( under doctors order) and I was terminated via email, and the email gave a a termination date of a week prior and I had been working that whole week so go figure that out. I would rather preform open heart surgery on myself with a dull spork while doing a split on a cactus made of broken glass than EVER work for Amazon again.

I have been working in an amazon warehouse for around 16 months. It took 12 months for our managers to finally introduce hard hats because no one knew it was an OSHA violation to work inside the trailers without one. There is an incredible amount of things I can say about this company but that alone should tell you to never work for any of their warehouses. They have no respect for any of their workers, and managers are either pressured or get a power trip to adopt the same disgusting treatment of their underlings.

It is so illegal to not allow bathroom breaks

As a current Amazon warehouse employee, listen to this man. It's actually just a slow torture. You have to turn your brain off or suffer from 10 hours of constant boredom while your body gets more and more sore over the course of the work week. On your weekends, you're basically waiting for your back and feet to stop being sore. When they start feeling normal, that's when you know it's time to start the new work week. Also, you're working the night shift, so you're always sleepy and probably have a vitaman D deficiency.

I was once a fan of Amazon and used it for almost everything I ordered online, as well as had Amazon prime, but when I discovered what was happening to the people working there, I was so outraged and horrified that I immediately stopped any and all business with them completely.. I absolutely REFUSE to give any company my money if they have no care for their employees well being.. I did the same with Walmart after learning about how messed up things are there as well.. Yeah I might have to spend more money elsewhere or go outta my way to get some of the things I need, but I'd rather do that than do business with companies that commit crimes against humanity, which is what they both basically do.. STAY BLESSED

I worked at Amazon, and everything that Jordan has stated is true. I quit during a 15 minute break. I didn’t plan on quitting, but I felt overworked, drained, and I couldn’t take another day. It is probably the most depressing job I have ever had, and I’ve worked in a job field where I was a verbal and physical punching bag for my clients, and even management.

I've been a nurse at Amazon for 3 years in the warehouse! We call it the slave ship! No gratitude or appreciation even when I work 10 days out of 11 days. NO RAISE in those 3 years! They DEF give you a signing bonus, but it's to hold you hostage! Lets say they give you $10k signing bonus, it will be paid on your first paycheck. You'll receive about 4-5k after tax. So if you quit within the first year, you must PAY IT BACK!!! All of it! Even the tax that you didn't receive. You received 4-5k but have to pay back the 10k! And Jeffy is busy giving away his billions! The turnaround is NUTS!! The discount is trash. Lots of free shirts though!

I'm currently a driver, and perhaps ive had the worst jobs previously, but so far this is my favorite I've ever had. My managers are very supportive and understanding, my coworkers are friendly and helpful, there's minimal customer interaction which means minimal verbal and emotional abuse. It's fantastic! Beats working at a gas station in my experience.

I once worked at a 'health-based' smoothie place when I first moved out of my family's house at the age of 18. I was moving to the big city compared to where I originally grew up (and still live in said big city) and didn't know where a good place to work would be. I was looking for a job that would hire right away as I needed a job lined up close to where I was gonna live, so already my standards weren't too great. The biggest red flag that I ignored when getting the interview was that the first 'attempt' was going to be via video conference. Now, I was expecting my employer to host the interview from their work establishment, I couldn't be more wrong. My 'boss' tried to interview me initially at her home while she was eating and wearing what I could only assume was a bathrobe. But because the audio for the video call wasn't working, we scheduled it for the next day in person. So I drive down to the place and think that I'm going to get my interview held in an office of some sort, but no- it was held in the walk-in cooler where all the produce and such was being held. There was a desk in there with a single seat, so I guess it was an 'office' in a way. So here I am, freezing my butt off in a cooler with my soon-to-be boss sitting standing up while they're sitting as we didn't have another chair lying around. The interview- and I wish I was joking- only lasted 5 minutes. I kid you not, I had set up a resume, with references, contacts, and a list of credentials, and they never even bothered to read it. Red flag number two: My 'boss' left midway through said 'interview' to help up front because we didn't have enough workers. And the number of workers that were scheduled that day totaled 3 people. Sure, we were a smaller business, but no one, and I mean no one, had any idea how to manage an entire building by ourselves, as we were already overworked fresh outta high school adults. So seeing as this place was hanging on by the skin of its teeth, I should've declined. My boss then told me I got the job without really asking me anything, we never even discussed pay or when I should really start via time. They informed me to show up anywhere from 8:00am to 10:00am the next day and then gestured me to a pile of clothes on the floor underneath the desk in the cooler. It was my work uniform, well- anyone's work uniform to be exact. They just had a pile of randomly sized shirts to pick from and told me that I didn't have to wash them. (I most certainly did that day.) Red flag number three: When the next day arrived, I showed up about 30 minutes earlier than expected as I was pretty nervous about starting a new job. So while I was waiting outside, I got a text telling me not to show up until 12:00 because there were some issues going on that they didn't want me to see. And to this day, I still don't know what those said issues were. I show up, expecting a walk-through or a crash-course of some sort, but was inseatd immediately thrown up front to start taking orders for the line of customers already forming. Thankfully though, the ordering screen was simple enough to get a basic understanding of how it worked, but still. Red flag number four: I was already working there for about a week when I realized- wait, we never discussed salary or payment of any kind, so when I went up to my boss to ask them about it, they told me everyone gets paid every Friday. (I already worked for them for about 9 days,) and when confronting them about this issue, they told me that their computers had lost my banking info, which therefore didn't allow direct deposit. So I give them my info in writing this time, expecting to get paid now for my days already put in... BUT ANOTHER 2 WEEKS GO BY and I still haven't received any form of payment. I've already called them and talking to my boss in person several times at this point, and they keep feeding me bullsh*t reasons on why I haven't been paid yet. So I told them I was going to quit if they didn't pay me by Friday. Friday rolls around, and they do eventually pay me, for about a few days worth of pay. This is another issue that I stupidly didn't realize, I never solidified my answer about how much I was getting paid. For the sheer amount of work I was putting in and for how much I was working since day one, I assumed at least $16.00-$17.00. No no no, I was getting paid $11.00, mind you- I applied and landed myself an assistant manager position. At this point, I'm so fed up of this garbage I told them I was going to put in my two weeks. I shouldn't have given them that notice because for the next two weeks my boss bombarded me with pleads to stay and work for them, how they'll give me a raise of only $1.50, and how much of a valued worker I was. Finally, when I my two weeks were nearing to an end, and I already got myself a much better job that I am much happier with, I received a call from my boss telling me that I had to come in at that very moment (it was my day off) and cover for a double shift as someone had apparently walked out. (Honestly, I don't blame them.) I never even bothered finishing my two weeks after that. (Also- I never received the correct amount of money I earned from the first 3 weeks of working there. I'm still very bitter about it.)

I worked at Amazon too. This man's speaking facts. I remember trying figure out how to change to liquid diet since peeing is a quicker bathroom break and taking a toilet break is absolutely forbidden. I was a stower for three months during season

The worst part about Amazon is the fact; That no one cares. I’m currently a worker and have been for two years. Everyone is overworked and the mangers seem to be indifferent. On top of that, you have higher ups coming up with these ideas that are good on paper . But shit in the actual application. So that just makes life harder on the associate.

As a current driver for amazon can confirm, we cant use the restroom either. We can but we’ll get in trouble for our stops per hour decreasing. Heck, even our mandatory lunch and two breaks are not factored into the route planning meaning even taking your mandatory lunch inherently puts you behind in their system. That means you always have to be at least half an hour ahead of schedule everyday just to stay on track.

I work at Amazon as a delivery driver, they had issues with me not finishing on time, so I decided to go extremely fast, so fast that they recognized this was the fastest to complete such a high stop count of 180 stops. Just to complete all of that at the time they estimated me to finish. There is no way I went that fast just to finish at exactly the time they set me to finish. It is a major issue and it's clear they're overworking people.

Here’s my story of working at Amazon. Got hired on at a warehouse overnight, had my first shift on a holiday in which I got paid extra to go through “training” (of which they were woefully disorganized and unprepared for, as I essentially was left with nothing to do for at least a few hours over the course of the night). They briefly showed us how we were going to sort things for about an hour at the end of the shift. Came back the next night and was thrown into the task pretty much unsupervised, and got chastised for mistakes a few times rather than being given actual instruction. After that shift I immediately submitted paid time off for the next two days to consider my bad choice, then said F that and told them I quit effective immediately. Made out like a bandit since they paid me for the two nights I was there, plus 2 shifts of PTO (one of which was time and a half for holiday), along with a free pair of nice shoes they gave to new hires. My paycheck for 1 shift of physical labor came out to about $740. 😂Thanks Amazon, and go screw yourself!

Amazon was the worst place I’ve ever worked. Don’t ever do it. I hated myself. I hated that building. I hated cardboard boxes.

This is absolutely true. My daughter worked for them and quit after a couple of months. She said she had to go up 2 floors to go to the bathroom and they always timed it. That's totally opposite of Wal-Mart. I worked there and if you have to go, you go. They don't expect you be anything other than human.

Amazon is dog ass! I’m an amazon delivery driver and it’s literally awful. Over worked, underpaid. I’m currently sitting out of work because I broke my ankle on the job. I also worked in the warehouses and that was awful. Never met my actual boss ever. Not even one time! I was hired on automatically, put right to work and was trained by some trainers and then that was it! I only worked in the warehouse for a very small time because it was the worst experience ever. I hate that company with a passion. It’s why I’m trying desperately to try and build an audience on Tik tok and try and make videos on here because I want to break out of this work force and just do the things that make me happy. And luckily because I broke my ankle out there delivering packages, I now have more time. But yeah exactly what Jordan says! All on point, DO NOT WORK FOR AMAZON

My former roommate was told by his manager that he needed to stop checking his blood sugar (diabetic) and taking his insulin while on shift or he was going to be disciplined, subsequently he ended up spending 2 days in the hospital because he wasn't able to take care of himself. I won't shop at amazon anymore, their employment practices don't deserve my business. I wish everyone would do the same or this will become the standard in employment world wide.

Your TOT is usually spent WALKING to the bathrooms since you have to clear at least two full stadiums to get there. You have to follow a certain path and you cant run or else their AI cameras will give you a ticket. During COVID, their cameras will ticket you if you stand too close to someone else.

My dad is in his mid-60's and has worked at Amazon for about 3 years and can never stop talking about how "great" it is and how "everyone should work there". Keep in mind he works at a desk job there, not as a driver or in any of the lines. Thing is he has been so badly mistreated at his previous jobs that he now sees this job where he works over 10 hours a day 6 days a week, has serious health issues and can't ever retire as the "best job he ever had." I've tried to convince him that amazon isn't a good company to work for and that he is being taking advantage of and deserves better, I even tried to show him evidence of amazon's mistreatment of their workers, and he'll always respond with "those people just don't want to work". I love my dad, but he is completely brainwashed by amazon and it's just really sad to see. Seriously, it's like he's in a cult! Last time we talked was when my grandmother died, and he still SOMEHOW brought up how "great" amazon is in the conservation about his own mothers' death.

I dont what all happened in 5 months but Ive been working at amazon for 3 months now and 1, the bathroom break thing is a complete myth (in my experience). I literally walk of for a 15m bathroom break or so atleast 3-4 times a day. (I work 12 hour shifts). Nobody else ever complains about bathroom breaks either so not really sure where that came from. Second of all, the ONLY bad things I've experienced is the shear amount of pain you will be in those first 3 weeks while your body adjusts to the work. And this isnt just Amazon btw, Ive worked at 2 other factory esc jobs and they all make you feel like this, atleast with Amazon it actually goes away after 3 weeks instead of lingering. Also they pay for your work shoes ($120 or so) whereas most factory jobs take the money out of your first pay check to cover work equipment costs. Plus this refreshes every year so you can buy new shoes. You start with 16 hours of time off that you can use whenever you want to. I mean it just doesnt make sense to complain about this. I get paid $18.90 an hour for 3, 12 hour shifts thats really good. I work in Texas btw, idk if its different state by state but yeah. It's just people finding any reason to complain about their jobs because nobody likes working, trust me I dont either, but as far as jobs go Amazon is a good one. Pretty great benefits too on top of all this.

When a company has a near monopoly on something that means you can ansolutely criticise it to hell and back while still using the product or service.

I worked at a 'Fulfillment Center', as a temp, for 9 months. When I was hired full time, I was moved to a different department, picking, which is the MOST difficult job there. I went from being a good packer, to fired, in less than 9 months, coincidentally, near my birthday. I would not recommend them to anyone, unless you're young, which I'm not. The particular location I worked at celebrated their 10th anniversary at that location, and were PROUD that they had over 20k people that had worked there in that length of time, not that were a lot of people still working there from that time. That should tell you a LOT about it...

The only reason people work at Amazon is because they pay like $14 an hour and that's not what normal people are used to. It's sad

Jordan I have recently found your channel and I love it. You are doing such a great job. With this video yes you are 100% correct. Amazon does NOT value their employees. Or people in general. Unfortunately I am currently working for Amazon. I am working on getting a different job though. Also, if anyone tries to say that the customers are the reason Amazon is so awful to their employees.... that is a NO. Amazon makes billions. They can afford to treat people better and pay them better. They don't simply because of greed.

I have no complaints about my two years at Amazon. I worked heavy returns (Team and Mech, CVG2, Hebron, KY) for the first year and it was very physical. I worked in the yard directing incoming semi.'s and moving trailers to dock doors. Not physical but often cold and wet. Then Amazon paid for me to get my Commercial Drivers License, all the license fees and exam fees and paid my hourly wage to attend the classes. Now I drive for a Commercial carrier and love it. I don't think it would have happened without Amazon.

I worked there for 1 month & it scarred me for life. Our mezzanine floor would get so hot that bc so many ppl were passing out they just stationed 2 ambulances out front so they could treat you & send you back to work.

The worst thing about getting TOT for bathroom breaks is that sometimes it takes 5+ minutes even _getting_ to the toilet, let alone doing your business and returning. Now, I had a decent experience working at Amazon, but you are very much just a number. My department was lax about TOT, but they were changing that by the time I left. The worst thing imo is the expected task rates. I remember I got moved to a new department temporarily for a month and was expected to hit the standard task rate two days after I was trained. I've always hated working positions where you're timed on tasks and Amazon is really horrible for that. The best thing to do really is to just work at Amazon for as long as you need to then quit. Use it as a stopping point, not a career.

I know from personal experience, he speaks the truth. Amazon is one of the wildest behaving companies (in how they treat their employees - at least the warehouse workers).

I worked at Amazon for 6 months in 2020... I'm still not okay. I literally cannot walk into the building anymore without feeling suffocated. Got a temp job there earlier this year. Made it 4 days and nearly had a break down. It's awful.

About 2 years ago, I needed a job bad and Amazon was hiring at 15 bucks. I applied, went to the hiring seminar, got the job, then immediately called them and told them I'm just gonna look for other jobs, and found one about two weeks later. I still look back fondly on how I dodged one helluva bullet on that one.

Just to provide a little bit of counterpoint, I was a network engineer at Amazon for 9 years. My co-workers were great, my boss was great, I really liked it. The only reason I left is because we have a special needs child. My wife wanted to go back to work, so we decided it was my turn to stay home and take care of our child. Otherwise I would probably still be working there today. It really sounds like it's the warehouse and delivery jobs that are terrible. If you work in the corporate offices, it can actually be pretty great.

Amazon don’t fire ppl they keep doin things to make u quit. They change ur route where it’s more packages to make ur job harder so u quit

As a former Amazon employee, here are a few tips... 1. Be on time, keep your hands, and your opinion to yourself. And always smile. 2. Try your best to get promoted fast. Are they will work you like a slave. 3. Safety in numbers. Have a few "Dock Buddy's" that you can count on to work as a group.

I mustve worked at one of the better fulfillment centers. We got bathroom breaks and we were treated very well. Catered holiday dinners and everything. My supervisor was great. He asked me how i like my job (Sorting) one day and i told him straight up "I hate it. Its monotonous and brain numbing". The next week, I was working another position that I actually liked (Water Spider). Theyre fatal flaw is in their PTO/UTO system. Its cool that you get a gang of paid hours that you can use at will. You can come in late if you want. Just use your PTO or UTO to cover those missed hours. The problem comes when you run out of hours. Thats an instant termination. I had 9 Vacation hours left and they wouldnt let me use them for a couple days that i was sick so i got fired. Would i work there again? no. Did i enjoy my time there? NGL, i did have some fun moments there. Freight elevators are dope af! Ive also worked at UPS for 2 years prior to this so i think i was a little better prepared for this position than most.

Work nights, get comfy shoes cause your gonna be standing up the whole time, get your mind right cause your gonna be talking to your self 🤙🏾 pray for your knees

We spend the majority of our life at work, pick a job where they treat you decently, with wages that allows you to get at the end of the month without drawning and with a respectful relationship with your colleagues and boss. It saves your health and money.

Same applies for Costco. Sure, you can go to the bathroom but get permission first. You have to clock out for lunch…which is a maximum of 30 minutes. If you take 31 minutes or longer, you get warned. Three warnings, you get written up. During your first 90 day trial period, you cannot take more than two days off in a row. You have no single supervisor telling you what to do. The person you are paired with tells you what to do and how to do it. They all have different ways of doing things. If you say, I was told by “Jim” to do it this way, the reply is always “I’m not Jim.” It is a bully culture. There aren’t documented procedures or training for many regular tasks. I quit and promoted myself back to being a Costco member.

If you care to work at Amazon go during the holiday season where you're probably gonna get the most money for the least work. Paid time off that's REQUIRED to use before the new year, it'll be cold in the warehouse so you won't need the non working fan and honestly nobody really cares if you're slow af. Also, QUIT after the first week of New Years so they know you aren't their slave.

I think it depends on what facility you work at. I work at FTW6 and I love it. They don't limit bathroom breaks lol. They just want everyone to work efficiently because productivity is very important. You definitely can't be a slacker working at Amazon. They have great benefits.

Worked on the dock for 12 hr shifts. Called RT. Would put 20+ miles on foot every night. Mostly while pulling pallets. Now, I have hip pain that I can't shake. He speaks truth

He got it in the first two seconds IMO, but the rest is also good to know. Worked at amazon for like, two months. Besides missing wages and being so tired every day I didn't even eat, I just couldn't handle racing the mechanical pacing of the warehouse crew after driving for nearly two hours a day for barely any money and ten hours of work. Spent a full day unable to move and the next morning I limped up to the front, left my badge and uniform at the desk and didn't go back. I can't die for money, it won't follow me to the grave anyway

The suggestion to hold an Amazon truck hostage broke me for about 10 seconds straight. I could not breathe, except to exhale in laughter. My cat panicked, and assumed I was dying. My landlord knocked on the door to check I wasn't choking. I felt a tingle in my fingers like a Tolkien elf getting drunk... Thank you so much for your take on stuff and junk.

Didn't see this video until now but as someone who's worked at both Amazon and another facory/warehouse type job this man is speaking facts. Just to put into perspective, long after leaving Amazon I was in a desperate pinch and took an offer for an automotive manufacturer where we would stand and repeat the same 20 second assembly tasks for 12 hours a day. And the hours were nearly criminal, 4 days of working 12 hour shifts and 3 days of 10 hour shifts, and yes that meant there were no days off unless we met quota which happened only three times in the 4 months I was there. I would STILL rather work that job again than go back to Amazon.

I work at an Amazon fulfillment center. I get payed much more than 14 an hour. I am an order picker. I take bathroom breaks. It is a long 3 day stretch that is in fact tiresome. But it's worth it. I like it.

Couldn't agree more. I lasted 3 weeks as a driver. The amount of work they load upon you is just unrealistic and this is from someone who stays in shape and is not a lazy worker.

Worked for a month in a shipping facility. DO NOT work there if you have back issues because they pay you depending on how fast you sort boxes and how many boxes you can fit in a shipping bag. And by fast, I mean 1 box every quarter second fast. I'm tall and have back issues because of it. My back pain had skyrocketed after my time there. Everytime I buy something, I never get overnight shipping because there was an influx of overnight boxes one time and it was a hellish shift. You don't need that usb cable that was on sale that soon

I work in the hub at UPS with a guy who also works for Amazon, and he loves it. I have talked with him a couple times about how he works both companies and which he thinks is best. He says both companies have good and bad but as long as you get the job done noone bothers you.

I work at a completely NOT AMAZON warehouse. The New Operations manager here used to be a manager for Amazon. When she gave her introductory speech she said, and I quote, "If you've heard something bad about Amazon, It's probably true." Invaluable advice and now I share it with you.

I did that at FedEx I broke records at our station and became a switcher then manager. Training the best unload squad and after a week I left 90% of my team left with me because I treated them with respect. 💀some still hit me up saying leaving was the best decision they made.

Coincidentally, Amazon recently let thousands of workers go, just before Christmas 😑😒 so, not nice.

Fam working at amazon made me smoke more than I like to admit, I went from smoking 3 roll ups a day to 14 times a day and up to 4 energy drinks a shift.

As someone that has worked at Amazon I can say whole heartedly to follow the advice of rule one. Amazon employee's aren't seen as human, you're a number and a stain on your supervisors foot (no, not boot, foot). Which is a long winded way of saying they don't care about you and you don't matter to them. It's a system designed to break employee's and push them out (except for the woefully exceptional ones that'll burn themselves out completely withint 3 years to make a few peanuts more than the noobs) because they don't want to have to pay benefits for long term employe's. It doesn't matter what country you work for them in, they suck on both sides of the Atlantic and if you're in a place that doesn't have great human rights, they will legally work you to death because they can get away with it. I hate to think what it's like to work in Amazon warehouses inside of India or China, or Mexico (if there are any) or even most places in Africa (because let's face it, human rights was nevera priority over there). Straight up truth there as of 5 years ago.

If you absolutely hate yourself, go work at Amazon. I've had three friends all work at Amazon and noped out of there the second they found a job for similar pay and less bs on a day to day basis. The fed ex and Amazon delivery drivers that come through our neighborhood are an absolute delight to interact with and I wish them all the best.

I worked it as a seasonal employee for some extra Xmas money, and it was the worst. The way they do their breaks are straight up illegal. I quit before I planned, not because I was in constant pain (which I was) but because my young daughter begged me to. She hated what it was doing to me, and I realized it was not worth it. I worked more hours at higher pay there than at my main job and somehow made less money.

I worked at Amazon for 2 years on nights and he’s telling the truth. If you go to Amazon have a plan to gtfo within like 6 months. I couldn’t keep my weight up at all. That mandatory OT during the holidays had everybody looking like a zombie. It’s crazy because Amazon pays more than a lot of jobs in my area too especially for how little requirements there are.

I have nothing good to say about workiing at amazon and I grind my teeth when I say the benifits are good. Currently using their money to study animation at my local community collage and hopefully if I can start making decent money on that I am reducing my time to work as little as possible until I can find somewhere better.

I work as a delivery driver as I get through college, and I will say the DPS I work for is pretty cool, they don’t over work us and actually care about our well being. However, we do mainly smaller towns outside the major city/country roads. I will say I have done some routes in the city and those r unacceptable, they expect us to do 140-160 stops of apartments and I’m like yeah nah, I brought back 80 packages tht day 😂. If I did apartments all day I’d quit too, which is probably y they always needs help at tht location. Plus warehouse sucks, worked there too, best position is water spider cuz then u don’t get TOT

Amazon corporate is weird too. I've had several interviews to work at corporate in Seattle and I've had to STUDY to go through them. One must memorize their business principles and have scenarios prepared in the STAR format. Last time, I had prepared notecards - NOTECARDS - for the interview. I've had friends who have worked for corporate and have quit within 6 months to come back to their old job. I had another friend whom they moved over to Seattle from North Carolina to work there. He hated it, stayed for one year so he didn't have to pay for the moving fees, then quit to go back\ to NC. So, just say no. Those people are nuts.

I have a family friend that works at Amazon and a relative told me I should work there b/c so-and-so likes her job. I was like, "Yeah I bet she does, she's a manager."

Macy's Warehouse is the same as Amazon Except we were allowed to use the bathroom anytime. But you always were very aware of the quota you had to reach each day. Or your neck would be on the chopping block.i gave a 2 week notice after 5 years. BRUTAL on the body the pace. The money was good but doing doubles working 80+ was taking its toll. I was ranked top 5 in my building-8 from the other building in my area (out of 800 employees) for production between warehouses. When I put in my 2 week notice the District Director came to see me before I left,wished me well, and stated if I ever came back he would create a job for me. I was the only female at the time in my area.. Higbay Lift Operator/ Putaway. At the end of the day I was just a number like anyone else. An Amazon opened up 30 minutes from Macy's warehouse. They were paying more but were more strict on production. Most people never lasted past a few months.

I dodged the Amazon bullet. I was working as a crewman with Brinks armored car when Amazon really started pushing so hard for drivers. Sadly, they were offering quite a bit more money than Brinks was, so I applied. I watched the orientation videos and went through an interview and everything. From everything I saw, I came to the conclusion that working as a driver for Amazon would have been MORE stressful and less worthwhile than what I was already doing. Let that sink in: putting on a uniform and strapping on a gun and vest to pickup and deliver cash in a major city was LESS stressful than the terrible conditions they have their employees work in at Amazon. Additionally, now that I'm past all of that, I can look back with pride at the work I did at Brinks, and I don't believe I could have said the same for a job at Amazon (Speaking only for myself).

In my state your employer isn't required to give adult employees breaks for any reason, I'm sure they can't legally say you can't use the bathroom, but they don't have to give meal breaks. I live in New Jersey, a lot of people don't believe me but just do a moment of research and you'll see I'm right, but most companies will go by corporate policy across the country and modify it state by state if necessary

I work at Amazon and it's a pretty bad place to work--especially when they call mandatory over-time. This might be a good place to work if you have no skills, education, experience or are a marginalized person or immigrant. But, you must be tougher than hell and able to endure endless pain and misery.. Perhaps, a good starting point for someone that is fresh out of high school, to teach you where you don't want to end up in life.

The Canadian Amazon warehouse is so different it’s ridiculous. Amazon is scared of lawsuits and I guess we have worker’s laws here. I dunno. It’s night and day.

Be the best and leave… you can be the best worker in your department and the managers won’t care. 1. A manager was literally asking why wasn’t I completing more totes/boxes? The boxes kept coming up as errors, but they never trained anyone in the department to fix said error. They said the error items didn’t excuse the lack of scans and productivity rate… the ENTIRE conveyor belt was FILLED with said error items. The manager expected me to deal with it… how? 2. At another location a manager was yelling at me about taking too long in the bathroom. Yet even at 4-6 mph walking speed or a 15-20 mph sprint it still took 5-10 minutes to make it to any bathroom. Before that though one would’ve done 5-15km power walking/running all over the place (even change floors) Picking. Then you had to scan your next item within 5 minutes. It’s the same distance. Yes I tracked the distance and time everyday. The 5-10 minute mark was not even taking into consideration all the HAZARDS that double or triple the time and distance it took. Bathroom shut down for cleaning without notice, filled, being on opposite end of building and/or on different floor, Stowing Department blocking all paths (even passed the next bathroom), having to scan a close item, and management constantly changing your break times. The list goes on, but at the end of the day… Dollar Tree is WORSE. Better bathroom policies, worse in everything else. At least Amazon they outright tell you they don’t care and follow their rules. Dollar Tree will lie and falsify information till their dying breath. Management and above is literally Cult Mentality. Amazon 100-300 items per hour rate (depends on department and location). It’s realistic and reasonable. Dollar Tree 400-457+ items per hour. But that includes constantly changing 20-70 pound pallets and grabbing 30-440 giant boxes of liquid in flimsy/low quality cardboard boxes for just 1 items. It’s only 1 out a single set of 400-1400 labels, but there’s 3 waves. Being right next to conveyor doesn’t really make the distance any better. Then there’s the nonstop squats for every single item. Basically Dollar Tree is paying for you to Deadlift and do a full body rotation workout 5-10 times per item. So about 16,000-32,000 reps a day. All while it’s about 80 degrees in saw dust infested air. There’s only 40 hour bi-weekly workweeks. I wish I was kidding. Amazon is paying you to do 10-25km and hand-eye coordination daily. Yeah it’s the lesser of the two evils. As I can get same-day-pay that works (Dollar Tree’s is goodbye money), better work hours, central air year round, and same benefits.

Am a little over 6 months of working at Amazon as a driver. There's ups and downs. The downs definitely do suck and is very stressful. Driving in horrendous and dangerous weather conditions all while some thing on your truck may or may not be working properly. Delivering is super hot or super cold conditions suck about as equally. Driving in pitch black night with shitty headlights also sucks. But this depends on the area u deliver in. In rural areas, it gets pitch pitch black and is super sketchy. Suburban and busier areas aren't that bad. Pissing in bottles kinda sucks but as a guy is not as bad. Idk what girls are doing. Also make sure u don't have to take a shit. U don't wanna deal with that. And last but not least, having a ridiculous amount of stops that takes u forever to finish. Being exhausted and having to do it again the next day. But during the spring and fall, when you're not too heavy, weather is nice and can get out at a decent time it's chill. Days like that I can enjoy. Hook up your phone and listen to music all day. Working on your own with no boss behind your back micro managing u. I've also lost 20 lbs in a span of about 3-4 months. Lightest I've been in a long time and am now at my ideal weight. But don't get me wrong, I've had some days I've been close to quitting. But haven't been pushed over the edge (yet).

Worse thing is Amazon employees are great workers who deserve much more for their efforts.

Unless it's changed in recent years, picking wrecks your knees. They put the product all the way down to the floor so you are constantly having to squat and stand back up at high speed. The also have you doing the equivalent of speedwalking all day on unpadded floor depending on where you are. If your knees are even slightly borderline it'll only take a few weeks for picking to push them over the edge. And you won't be able to afford the footwear you really need to do the job safely, because you work at Amazon. It's probably wishful thinking, but proper shoes being considered PPE for that job (and therefore provided by Amazon) would be a really good improvement.

worked as a manager for a single year, where i myself had 4 different bosses, my building had 3 different site leads, worked 11-12 hour days, lived about an hour away without traffic from the building bc amazon placement doesn’t care or actually ever get back to you when you make a request. After a year of literally being yelled at and nearly being fired for not being early to morning meetings i accepted another job offer and let them know the morning of my next shift that i wouldn’t be back
