Oh stop, water is ALREADY FILTERED before its sent along the pipelines, and theres a PHYSICAL SOLID CHARCOAL FILTER IN YOUR HOME!!!!! Before you even get to access the water its filtered twice, on top of the numerous tikes when its being treated. The only electrical appliance that affects your water is a water softener (if you have one) and hard water is PERFECTLY SAFE TO DRINK!!!! In fact, most houses don’t even have one. You, my friend, have fallen for the TikTok Trap. Congratulations
“Don’t assume your local utility already knows otherwise your going to be waiting a while” 1. My local utility always knows 2. Even if we call them, it takes them up to 7 hours to come to my house because I live in a area with a lot of people with oxygen tanks
While this tip may have been true a long time ago in the age before smart meters and SCADA systems, today any and all equipment will tell them instantly that the power is out, and where. The system can also use this information to instantly reroute power so fewer customers will be affected.
@@user2C47and yet there's people who call the power company and report outages apologizing for probably being the 100th call and yet nobody's called about it yet and they had no idea...
Good suggestion don't drink the water. That leaves more water in the pipes for me to take, use and store in my bath :) I'm case it a long term power outage.
If you are a smart man you make preparations for outages and go right back to watching the football game while the rest of the neighborhood is in the dark LOL
"If you DO call them you WILL be waiting a while! Purchase a generator, best choice I ever made living in an area that loses power too often. Candles Batteries Flash lights Portable phone charger And eat everything out of the fridge you can before it spoils.
If the ELECTRICITY is gone, how can there be any ELECTRICITY to electrify the water in the first place? And anyway, water is already clean when it arrives. The only things that use electricity is the boiler, and the water softener (if you have one). Hard water is perfectly safe to drink anyway. Theres also a physical filter somewhere in the system JUST IN CASE. That filters water with no source of energy. Anyway, unless you have a gas hob, you wouldnt be able to boil water anyway.
If you have a gas stove you can turn it on while putting a little match next to it and then you can use it also to turn it off you just turn it off like normal but if you don’t have a gas stove idk what to tell you
If your power goes out how the hell would you boil the water, you need to plug your stove on, Unlesssss you have a wireless stove. Awsome tip: if your power goes out and you dont have a wireless stove, use a lighter and light the stive up! This is a good tip and i used to do it all the time! And use candles and flashlights!! For light ❤
Make sure it’s almost 6am not the beginning of 5 am of before to not be Stuffed in to a spring lock suit by a brown animatronic bear who’s holding a dead kid
generally bad advice, other than you MUST call your utility if your power is out. They don't know if your power is out UNLESS you tell them. DO NOT hesitate to tell your power utility your power is out! OK!
The fridge one is good too, but if you need food then you can get it. Unless your in a hot climate, opening the fridge for a few seconds wont do anything. And the tap water one is the dumbest thing I’ve heard all day smh 🤦♂️
The water will still be safe because no power no new untreated water can get into the water tower and your pipes and the hole statement in the pipes it would still be there regardless of the power
The water in the tower was treated already. You are correct they can't treat more water, but they also don't have the power to pump the untreated water into the tower.
I know how it feels. I live on base in Virginia right near the ocean and the power goes out frequently and I got a BLUETTI Station AC200MAX, 2048Wh LiFePO4 Battery Backup and I have a solar panel for it and I’ve practiced using it and I can pretty much use it for everything. I keep extra water and a good supply of non-perishable food. It’s always good to be prepared. Don’t tell your neighbors what you got cause people can get desperate.
One Prime in 5th grade I was in art class and then the lights just shut off and everyone just were screaming and hiding under the desks. And I didn't do what they did and stay above the desk and staying calm and continued what ever I was doing at that moment. I think I was the only one above the desk too so I was just wondering what was in everyone's mind at that moment
Georgia power knew the power went out almost immediately after it did, and it's been 3 days, and power is still out, and they changed the time for the power to be back 4 times so far
POV you live in South Africa 😂 For any non South African basically we have loadshedding and power outages everyday for 2hrs to 10 days and I can claim that in my all of these things are 100% safe to do
As long as there is pressure, the water is safe. Water districts have back up generators and in some cases, gravity tanks to feed the system. The water in the lines doesn't automatically go bad just because the power goes out. Maybe you should learn something about how these systems work before spouting bad advice.
Uh you know they don't treat the water on demand right? It is in water tanks and most utilities try to keep atleast a days supply in the system in case of emergencies.
