Just got a new fairing kit for my 2012 650 and super excited to get it back on the road. I’ve owned it for about 4 years and almost sold twice and couldn’t let her go. You are absolutely correct. I knew I wasn’t crazy when I thought this bike was all around a blast to ride.
I mean a top speed of 135mph stock is nothing to snooze on and I heard you can “unlock” it if you get the ecu flashed or whatever they call it when they reprogram it so you can access 100% of all the power and specs and with the right exhaust you can get up to the 140s mph or even 150s if you do some upgrades to the engine. That’s why I bought it as my first bike once I’m ready for more there’s so many options I can leave it stock and just keep it as a travel/commuter bike and buy a super sport as a 2nd bike or I can upgrade it and make it my own super sport thats able to keep up with the 600cc bikes
@@jeffrey7160 I heard here in Cali that many people just get thier moto permit and just use that for a long time. The only restrictions you have with a permit was - no passengers, no night riding.
My first bike was a R6, and after owning a couple of 1000's, I still miss my R6 the most. Even my friends that ride missiles for bikes, miss their 600's the most. Even though I live near the unlimited autobahn, going 200+ km/h is fun for a couple of times, but as side from that, I never reach those kind of speeds. You can't do it anywhere else anyway. 600's are more then enough. I know a lot of people that are perfectly fine with their 250's even. My local dealer has the new 650 anniversary edition for sale in the retro black and red, so I'm probably going to pick that up tomorrow.
Currently own a 22 klr and looking for something smaller lighter and easier to ride to add to the stable. Considering a 500 and 650, any thoughts? Also how is the power and torque compared to the klr? I know they’re totally different bikes but That’s all I have to compare anything to as the klr is my first and only bike
Just subscribe to your channel cracking video mate I have had bikes since I was a kid just passed my mod 1 so just my mod 2 and on my way just been looking at a 19 plate where is the best place to fit a Monimoto 7 tracker please
Thanks for watching my friend! I’d say take off one of the front cowlings where the instrument cluster is and stick it in there. Take a bit of doing and I don’t think a thief would go right to taking the dash apart.
Did you buy it with the sport bars on already? I recently got a 2013 and I'm looking to put some sport bars on it but there are not a ton of options. Stock bars are pretty high up lmao
Looking at getting a 2012-2015 for my first bike because of the price range & me presumably being too big for a 400-500. What would you consider to be high mileage for one?
I’d say 50k would be high mileage. That doesn’t mean you should avoid a bike with that kind of mileage just make sure whoever you buy from has maintained the bike well. Thanks for watching!
I found one he said the engine is seized but he has the new engine for it. Would it be hard to engine swap it myself. If so how much do you think it would be? Need it as a daily. Any advice?
if u need a bike to be a reliable daily rider I would avoid anything that needs any serious mechanical work. price wise if u did all the work yourself I don't think it would cost more than a few hundred dollars for any tools you don't own to get the job done. but again id just do more shopping and find a good running used bike in your price range
It appears that your a bigger / taller guy. I am 6"03" - 275 lbs. Do you think the Kawy Ninja 650 will be enough for a bigger guy? I am not looking for a speed demon, but it needs to get up and go.
I used to own a ninja 300 around 6 years ago...now I'm torn between the 650 and the 500 se , price is almost the same and I already have some experience, going to the 500 feels like going to the same bike I used to have, but since I have a bit more experience despite not being riding for a few years..Would the 650 be a good choice over the 500?
Great video!!! I am thinking of getting a 2024 ninja 650 for highway commuting (75 to 85mph) for at least an hour. So, according to the vid, this 650 can do that, right? I never had a 650cc bike before. Someone please let me know...
I got a 2012 ninja 650 I take it from NY to Pa once a week and pin it at 100mph for a good 30min sometimes…..I had it up to 128mph for 10min straight. It just eats gas fast when having it that high mph for that long but it not only handles it, but handles it well
@klrshthead2906 I went to a local dealer today and checked out a Ninja 650. He has some of the gear I want too. He has the helmet I want, $150.00. That's nothing when it comes to my safety, cheap in my opinion
Same here mate I have just passed my mod 1 test and on my mod 2 soon I love the kawasaki ninja z650 its a lovely bike on the 2020 plate onwards its got that lovely 😍 digital display 👌 really cool I like the kawasaki ninja krt 400 as well but the ninja z650 is the one 2020 plate onwards you get that digital display hope this 👍 help 😉
@@ANDY-we7mr wish you luck next time you take the test! For now I just get to watch everyone else have fun on thier bikes. I'll just have to enjoy my Ebike for now 😭
depends on your states laws regarding titles. where I am I can get a vehicle titled with a bill of sale. its not the most convenient way but its possible. For me to want the extra headache the bikes would have to be in near mint condition. If they aren't Im sure you can find a bike with a title for the same money in similar condition.
I rode my new 24 650 with my friend the other dayvthat ownes a 23 gsxr 600 and he swears he had trouble keeping up hitting 110 in some places and still a bit behind me its plenty fast a damn viper does 0 to 60 in 4.3 were this 650 will do itvin 4 or less notvmany cars can touch it without being a 80k dollar sports car
37,500 miles on mine, year 2017 bought in 2016 (so 8 years I ride it.) . It calms me down from the big boys, yet twisties are still pretty fun. As a starter bike it's very very good; if you are too scared the 400 is awesome as well. If you aren't scared go for the 1000 (as you can set it to use only 75% of power until you feel at ease) I went on the East Coast of Canada with it for a week, it can take the load no issue, so yes it's Touring yet sporty. Good vid, and yes "subjective" is your opinion, "'objective" you can add facts to a subject ;-)
The 400 produces around 20 horsepower less which is a noticeable difference but if it’s a newer bike with less mileage and you aren’t concerned with the power differential I’d go for it! Thanks for watching
Just stepped off of a Honda Super Blackbird 1100 It`s nowhere near as fast but it`s waaaay more more rideable !. Love the seat height ( I`m 5` 7`` ) but 130mph is way more than enough for me and my Wife ( Our fireblade`s pillion seat was way too small ( She`s5" 9 " - and she works out ) but this Bike suits us well. If you want to kill yourself and ride like a MotoGP rider then this is not for you .
