jajajaj I was in a same situation than you , I played doom so much too when I was a kid , and when I was teenager whith a friends car we are drinking and smoking , and then mouth of war song is played, and I even not knew about pantera and when I heard , what tha... , this is a doom ultimate song... lol was so epic and funny.

Bobby Prince (sound designer for Doom) had to slightly alter the riffs and stuff to avoid copyright lawsuits. Some tracks (like E1M1) was a combination of Metallica's Master of Puppets and No Remorse.

Somehow I missed listening to Panterra all these years. . . .I just listened to the album that has that song today (June 2022) and I was like, HOLY COW that's the doom song!!! But I guess no, it was doom that borrowed Panterras. What a great theme to make into midi for though, that was one of my favorites from the doom soundtrack
