pickleball is our marriage therapy!! Lots of communication is needed on the court and off!! coaching each other, foregiveness, celebration, improving, stress, elation, its all there on the court and keep it light hearted!!!

Great tips. I have good friends I play with. I find that we only say positive things before, during, and after matches. That goes for comments to others and to ourselves. Instead of “Damn, I/you really screwed up that return,” it’s “great serve” to your opponent. Good try, good effort, that’s the right idea, great shot, almost got it, incredible shot. These comments are made to partners and to opponents. This creates a collegial and friendly atmosphere. Or if there is a comical screw up, we can all laugh knowing we support each other. Being positive and supportive sets a tone that others usually go along with.
