Born and raised in Idaho 52+ years. My Father and grandparents live/d outside of the area you were talking about in the first story and we had a farm up there in the rural area. You have to know that there are people that go up in those forests to be left the hell alone and would not bat an eye lash at shooting you up and feeding you to their hogs.

When I was homeless, I spent my first summer living in the Bob Marshall's, in the Rockies. Guarantee you there's people living in the mountains. They don't want to be bothered. A lot of them are veterans. Firest rangers are generally aware of them and don't bother them, because who wants to try to creep up on armed veterans living in the woods?

That truck driver story at the end I heard mr ballen do a video on, as well as a few others. Such a crazy incident. The guy seemed normal and loved his family and then on that drive he just lost it for some reason.

We need more woods stories!!! I get so excited when I see a post. Help through a long work day. First story was one of those that make you go "Dude, you ain't right in the head" I'm glad that guy left the cabin knowing you ratted him out. Probably thought he could get you to think alittle and realize there is a God before you die. I'm sure he doesn't want to stumble upon you again since you are a liar.

44:48 when my cousin wanted to get clean, he moved away but we are from South Mississippi which is right at sea level. Before he left, he did the last little bit of dope (meth) he had so he was like suffering from No sleep. He called me as he was getting into the Great plains areas and he was tripping out! He was hallucinating that I was with him and that I had walked off! We were so worried about him but once he got to Montana and got some sleep, he was fine after that! That change in elevation mixed with a lack of sleep can make you go nuts! He's never had any other kind of mental problems either! Thank God the cops didn't arrest him! He's been clean ever since though!😊

A friend from high school in 1975 used to work nights at a mini market. He was usually a jovial guy, but I could tell from his disposition in class which times he had been held up while on the job. Don’t know why he kept working there; I guess he had to. He told me that having that barrel pointed towards him was beyond frightening. With a gun it’s a totally different kind of scary than with fists and knives.

A mountain lion encounter when you are by yourself in the mountains sounds terrifying especially since the mountain lion would have been hunting you when you did not even know it was there. Gives me chills.

My mom got robbed at gunpoint for her prescription once. Even had a pistol on her too. She was so scared she didn’t even notice she had peed and she couldn’t get her gun out before he had his to her head. I was inside my apartment pregnant af while she was in my parking lot. She couldn’t call the police cause it wasn’t exactly a very legal situation to begin with (not to mention, she’s a lifetime felon who shouldn’t have even had a gun, but it was Daytona Beach. I don’t blame her.) to be fair she’s a veryyyyy different person now. My point is my mom would always say what she would do in that situation but what she was capable of in the situation was quite different. You can never say how you’re going to react until you get into that situation. I’ve been in some pretty intense situations and I always fight like I go straight into go mode, but I can’t say how I would react if someone had a gun to my face. I would probably pee my pants. Also, come on first dude you promised you broke your promise man !

I like how the guy in the first story sounds all tough and talking crap after the fact. And then he says when he gets cell phone signal he reported the whole "God Damn thing". I would have been more afraid of that making promises to God just to save himself and then backtracking after.

I am a new subscriber as of today because this channel showed up on my RU-vid feed. I like these stories because until I got too old I hiked a lot and I hiked alone. Hyenas where there were bobcats and mountain lions and coyotes. No bears lol. But I never had a scare or a fright of any kind. I guess I was lucky. I miss those days but I know how a hiker feels when they’re out outside in the woods. (Without danger that is.)
