2 and 3 basically covered “that lead alto” that always finishes your phrases because they have perfect pitch.

in my school we have 5 sax players. this is how it goes, 1st chair - "im better than all of you" (he plays robotically), 2nd chair - "im louder than you" (she is literally the voice of the 1st altos, 3rd chair - "idk" (he plays so quiet sometimes i gotta wonder wheres at in the music), 4th chair - "too much" (I play too many instruments and sax being my main, im only 2nd alto most songs but im the one to not practice and still sound decent.), 5th chair - "noob" (he is new at band stuff but hes improved dramatically)

every saxophone player has been through these phases

Literally all of the kids besides me, as an alto player there is ALWAYS another kid who fits the first one . No matter WHAT.

I used to have a peer in band on alto that would play careless whisper every single second he got. Band director just stopped talking? Plays careless whisper, done with a song? plays careless whisper, you breath? plays careless whisper. idk if he was tryna rizz someone up, but I about took his sax a couple times lol

as a tenor sax player I can say wholeheartedly this is accurate

I feel like theirs always one person that fills the category of number one almost no matter what.

I'm a good alto saxophone player an I do tend to play loud but I have asthma so it makes it harder for me to control how loud I am playing

I know two altos who are both the epitome of I can play careless whisper. Both good friends, but it gets a bit old.

The only time i will say im a bari sax player

“Never enough vibrato” is my favorite type of horn player.

Abou dynamical type, I agree.. but there's the thing - those saxophonists that always complains about anything louder can't themselves play louder when they have to. That's usually the thing.

I’m not even in alto section, clarinet player, and I know if these. Our alto section was huge. The other type we had was I can play under the sea

I used to be the third one. My director threatened to put up a “careless whisper free zone” sign in the band room and he gave me ideas of other things to play. He recommended Never Gonna Give You Up and I started playing it and he whispered to someone “I taught her that.” It was really funny and i ended up obnoxiously squeaking lol

As a trombonist, the only issue we face is the one guy thats always being too chaotic
