Thanks for breaking this down. I only recently learned about low profile settings and realized this is my preferred design.

🙋🏾‍♀️Thanks for the video. It would be great to see different shaped stones set at the various heights and hear your recommendations for various stone shapes in regards to how they look best set. Including setting height, shape, and angular positioning of the stone.

I really love the high setting..but would it look nice with a 1.5?? And also how will it hold up considering the stone is that size?

dinarannie Hello 👋 ! Setting heights are a matter of preference and personal taste. High-setting is a very beautiful and popular choice and works nicely with a 1.5ct center stone. Yes, it holds up very well as long as you’re working with a professional jeweler. It’s also dependent on the individual that wears the ring as well. If you’re an active person then we suggest for you to put it in a safe place when working out, playing sports, etc. Thanks 🙏!

I ordered the lowest setting from them, and received a high set...

What happens to the V opening when the setting is lowered? Does it open wider? I have a medium setting and I want to have it lowered in hopes that the diamond would show more on the sides (v)

i have a tiffany style white gold ring with a solitaire diamond. It sticks out quite a lot. I think its a standard setting. Is it possible to get it altered to a low setting? would that help with the height? Thanks
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 5 лет назад
MwoniKa Yes, you should take it to a local professional and experience jeweler to have him/her take a look at it. They should be able to set it lower for you if there is spacing between the culet of the stone and the bottom of the head/top of the shank. 🙏!

I picked out a 6mm wide wedding band. It’s a heavy band with a scrolled carved design. I’m really wondering what height it should be on the ring... 🤔.

Would it be hard to put a wedding band next to the low setting ring
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 7 лет назад
It depends on the style of the wedding band. Each piece of jewelry has different measurements that may need to be adjusted if you're going for a "flushed" matching band look. Thanks for watching!

Hi I have a ring solitaire that has a point4 Carat Stone I am planning to exchange the stone with a better stone something like .86 carat the jewellery expert will do some adjustments like changing the setting a bit so it could fit the stone itself which would be best and what would you advise

So informative, and helpful. Quick question, if I have a 4ct round brilliant would a high setting be ok? Would it be safe in a 6 prong solitaire?
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 5 лет назад
Hi there! Yes, it is safe as long as you're working with a seasoned, qualified and professional jeweler. Thanks!

My 5.15 round brilliant was too tall even at the lowest letting it’s a giant stone - I have to downsize 1.5 carats not going any smaller than that… maybe it was 1.25 downsized but still I’m 58 been wearing my last stone 24 years

Is it possible to get a ring reshanked from a cathedral to a normal shank?

what kind of setting would be best suited for people who work in the health care field( who wear gloves most of the time)but still has that nice sparkle effect ? thanks!
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 7 лет назад
A low-set is the most secure setting height for professionals that require their hands to perform their jobs. The setting type that is recommended for the best security of the center stone is a "bezel-set." Thanks for asking!

Are some settings less prone to lose a stone
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 5 лет назад
Great question. If it is set properly by a trained and experience jewelry professional then your ring should be okay with normal wear and tear.

What is the usual setting for a 6.5mm cushion? I chose the low setting for mine. Will it look ok?

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!" There is no right or wrong answer here as it is a matter of personal preference and taste. We receive many requests for low, standard and high settings daily. Low-sets are gorgeous especially if you prefer the stone to sit closer to your finger. Hope that helps! :)

Hi there! Does the setting height of a center stone within a halo or cluster design, affect the light entering the stone and the "sparkliness" of the center stone?
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 7 лет назад
Hi Chau! Yes, the height of the center stone may assist with the increase or decrease in amount of light. However, it is also highly dependent on the design of the halo or cluster. If the halo and cluster is not a solid piece and allows light to pass through then the increase in setting height may not be necessary to increase the sparkle. Hope that helps and thanks for the question!

Fire & Brilliance Would the setting height affect how sparkly the center stone is in your oval Duchess ring?
@FireandBrilliance
@FireandBrilliance 7 лет назад
The oval version of our "Duchess" has many openings in the basket where light may pass through so the setting height is truly a matter of preference. The sparkle should not be effected by the stone's height. Thanks!
