Oscar Shmidt has a real talent for building ukuleles that are full of life. To clear up a couple things, the pointy lower bout on the cutaway is called a Florentine cutaway while a rounded cutaway is called a Venetian Cutaway. The two bass strings on the baritone are wound strings rather than steel strings and are likely wound around a nylon core like on a classical guitar.
Merci Ben... je découvre que tu es aussi fluently english speaking ! Quel talent! On les trouve en France ces petites merveilles?? Moi je craque pour le Concert.... mais le ténor lovely sound too!!
thank you for the review! the satin finish indeed is really nice! I've got by chance an OS guitar recently, it was new with tags from Craigslist (my first acoustic guitar actually, or ever a guitar :), it is beautiful in the look, only glossy, wish it were satin. love the design of those ukes, Lanikai also has similar design in some way with abalone adornments.
1:47 See you in Sibiu :)) My mom liked your song very much, I guess I should buy her an album too :)) And she wants to see you in İstanbul. Not in Sibiu :))
Nice ukuleles.... BUT, I was dying everytime you pronounced it YUKULAYLAY... It's not YUKULAYLAY, it is called Ukulele, as in OOKOOLLEHLEH... Sorry, but the pronunciation just bothers us Hawaiians.!
Hey Charis ! yeah I listened back and it seems there was a little buzz on the G string, which is gone now. It's common when instruments are new and there's no slight curvature of the neck yet, which is introduced in a short time with the tension of the strings :) However I've bought cheap ukuleles from banggood and the buzz is still there, so that's a bummer. But these are quality, well crafted, though no luxury ukuleles.
