I bought an "06 Sienna a few months ago with 240,000 miles on it, and it runs like new. It has a very good Carfax maintenance history, and pretty much everything was done when it was just over 200,000 miles. Changed every fluid it has, and changed the water pump and timing belt. The body and interior are in great condition too. I got a great deal for only $2,600 from a small used car dealer who took it in on trade. Scotty was who made me decide to get the Sienna, and after a few thousand miles, I think it was a good decision.
@@Argediswe have to build stuff new and less junk eventually we cant rely on the more reliable old garbage over the newer less reliable garbage forever
You must put snow tires on all four wheels, if you only put snow tires on the front there is a good chance you will spin out of control while going around a corner because the rear tires will not grip the ice like the snow tires, I know because I've experienced it.
I don't know much abt cars but ur Celica sounds great. My Chevy is2002 runs ,great faded paint.i can't afford a paint job. Need one badly,bc I'm a little vane. Need a new car.
my 99 Lexus RX300 AWD has same engine and the water pump is leaking and the roller bearings are squeaking 217k miles will do the job for $300 in parts. I bought it for 1k so happy with the purchase as it will be like new and only will have $1400. into it
I have the same van even the same year and I have 225000 on the clock and just drove it from Indiana to California. Over 5500 miles and ran like a clock. Mine is a ce model which is the base and I love it. The least amount of electric items the better 😊
My 04 saturn has an evap leak, but idc cause the car runs no different than it did when I got it. Has had it for about a year now, but it still runs fine. My state doesn't do emissions test so I just live with it.
My wife and I bought a Toyota Sienna SE it's a 2011 the first year of the new body style after this when you're showing it had 88,000 me and now has 240,000 Mi only thing I've changed is brakes we put cross drilled and slotted rotors cuz my wife loves to stop hard LOL anyways other than regular maintenance the 3.5 L V6 and transmission are absolutely bulletproof in my opinion
@fasn279 never have... it's not a requirement because the fluid is supposed to outlast the life of the transmission. Scotty Kilmer has discussed this several times about these closed transmissions.
I have owned a Sienna of a comparible year and did get 350,000 hwy miles from it. It was the hardest minivan I have ever worked on. That timing belt took me over 12 hours to replace. Lot of stuff in the way and very cramped. but it was very reliable. The only thing that failed was the starter.
My 09 Prius has around 250,400 miles, and doesn't burn any oil. I'm shocked and pleased. It still runs great, and I get very good gas mileage. Probably gonna need engine mounts soon, but I love it so.
Hi Scott!!!! I believe I worked with the owner of this vehicle for 15 years at Mcandrews King Pontiac Buick GMC. I find it amusing that he drives it down to you. I'd love to come down and meet you myself. I have a channel myself, as you can see.
I have a 2004 Toyota Tundra SR5 with 338,500 miles. Still going strong. Never had an issue with the engine or transmission. I'll never buy anything else but Toyota or Honda.
They are cheaper , however cars that old will have issue one or another. Scotty is right they are good cars as long as you can fix it. I don’t want to give my wife a 20 years old sienna.
I bought a 2005 Sienna with 56,000 miles 6 years ago. The thing gets close to 400 miles to a tank of gas (regular) no matter how you drive it (like a grandma or like you stole it). The only issue is the rear seat (60 split) won't stay up even though I've had it fixed a couple of times
@@GentleEarthWoman thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, it's a common problem with these models. Even replacing it I'll still have the issue. I gave up and keep it down.
I have a matrix and love the simplicity. I love its manual transmission. And it’s at 250,000 miles and made in Canada. The rav 4 looked great. The Celica was very nice as well. Manual transmission. Thank you for your energy and informations
I always thought it was spending money, to buy smart lights, that you have to download an app, give up your soul, just to turn your light on or off. When you can buy regular old light bulbs at the dollar tree. I wonder if these people don't just wear Depends instead of getting up to use the toilet.
Who cares? Automatic or manual, they open and close don't they? That's what people buy them for. The whole point of a minivan is that the doors are auto, especially for the moms with 3, 4, 5, 6 kids. It's extremely helpful.
I am in the market for a good used car. I watch your videos (thank you for making them). I have never seen you comment on Mitsubishi vehicles. I have narrowed my search to Toyota, Mazda & Mitsubishi. Please let me know what you think. Thank you.
Jag tycker att 3000 dollar är nästan mycket för en fräsch bil. Jag har en Subaru forester 2002 pris 2600 dollar. Och en Suzuki grand vitara 2,5 v6 4x4 1999 900 dollar.
Scotty I so appreciate finding you I soooo wish you were in my state I wouldnt bug you but id be honored and buy you and wife dinner just for few words of wisdom
I watched a data sheet on ?it had over 3 thousand psi at the fuel injections rail ...3 thousand pounds .. holy crap ...if you had a pin hole it could cut your fingers off😂😂😂😂.
I bought a 09 Rav 4 for my daughter. What is your opinion of the 2009 Honda Pilot EXL. My has 140K and I had the timing belt changed by the dealer. My front struts needed changing as I feel the bumps. Transmission shifts smooth still. What should I be worried about this year Pilot? Thanks Scotty
In 2007 they started putting timing chains on the siennas. Now, I was very lucky to find one with only 60K on it BUT I had to do water pump and new pulleys and serpentine belt(we think it sat for a while). I’m counting on this one lasting us a long time!
I have a 2004 Sienna that I bought June 2004. $27956 out the door. I have 175000 on it, and it runs like a top. I wouldnt hesitate to drive it to Florida. (From Ohio) Rust has just started to make an appearance on the rockers. Damn. I have ALWAYS kept up on maintenance. Timing belt, water pump, and changed the AT fluid at 100k..ish.
My mom recently got herself a new used certified Mazda CX5 2021 with only 57K miles. So she gave her 2017 CX5. Truly a beautiful machine. Better than my old worn out Kia
