Wow 😮 I was sitting directly behind Matty on this flight 😆. I’m a very small lady and never expected to be on a points guy run There’s the briefest flash of my little blonde head 😂. Hope you guys enjoyed a nice supper before you left Paris 🎉
I have to agree with others in the comments, there is literally a direct connection on the RER between CDG and the Olympic Stadium; Matty would have been better off being guided toward taking the RER train. Nonetheless another stellar video lads and I love the addition of Matty.
Actually from Orly Airport you now (since a 1-2 months) a direct Metro Line (Line 14) going through the city to the Stade de France. It takes an hour and might be quicker then by taxi :)
BEWARE of cab ripoffs if you are traveling by plane to Paris CDG or Paris Orly!! The fares to Paris and the suburbs are fixed BY LAW, but taxis often make you pay by the meter when there is traffic as they stand to gain a lot - as is the case for the cab Matty took. Stand your ground and ask to pay the fixed price!! Parisian taxis are unfortunately well known for ripping off confused tourists..
Omg it's Matty!! Kinda sure it was him from the thumbnail and he is!! And look how happy he is to not jump and get a headstart!! When he says "idiot", I can sense his witty self right 😂😂😂 BRING MATTY BACK!!
Liam you are lucky to not have control in Paris beacause you bought a ticket T+ which is not allowed in RER outside of Paris. Many tourists are making this mistake and if you have a control… you have a ticket !
Even if flying in combination with public transport instead of a taxi might be faster than the train, Eurostar Standard Premier is by far the most comfortable option. If you book ahead of time, you will also get much cheaper fares.
Eurostar is amazing and it would also be the most wheelchair friendly option (I am a wheelchair user and with much prefer Eurostar over the stress of flying)
It's not because it's a monopoly actually, it's because jet fuel isn't taxed and airlines get massive subsidies (which are taxpayer funded) and Eurostar do not. Plane flights are cheap because they are MASSIVELY subsidised. If you want cheaper rail travel you'll have to vote for it.
Just a note on the RER and Metro tickets - RATP have effectively outmoded paper tickets, and they now use smart-cards that have replaced the paper tickets and are sold on the Eurostar
Hey guys, I really love your videos. Could you maybe do once a race train/plane Freiburg-Hamburg? Would be so nice and I’m sure you will also enjoy that race. Max.
i have a question. What camera tripod mount do you use for the window camera, I have been looking for one but can't seem to find one. I want those timelapses but I dont know a good mounting system
Hey, you guys should really review the New Delhi to Leh flight, the view is breathtaking or the New Delhi to Kathmandu one. Flying over the Mt. Everest! Both are amazing
If you add up Matty's (15:15) or Nicky's (15:49) segment times, they come out to be less than Liam's (14:56). Presumably this is because they don't include the time spent in getting to the station/airport early and going through security, since personal preferences can affect this. Still, the total journey time should be listed as well.
Why is there the logo of the German Olympic team („Team D“) on the cheesecake in the Eurostar? I mean I like it, but on the route between London and Paris … I hope it’s a good sign 😄🇩🇪
RER B - the absolute shithole of a discount Thameslink. It's always squeaky bum time when you have to get from St Denis to Gare Du Nord to then get to CDG to barely catch your flight. Eurostar business premiere all the way, given how impressive the cocktail lounge is at GDN. Also, it's very rough around the 92nd at the wrong time of day.
9:31 As the Stade de France is outside Paris, the t+ ticket doesn’t work to go there by rer (as it is written on it just right of rer : dans paris/in paris)
Because the points guy channel are now merged. The original TPG was American, then they expanded into UK, making Nicky the TPG (UK version), so in the past they have 2 different RU-vid channels. But now they integrate, so the UK become departures, and the US become destination (?), and since the TPG are US-based as well so it made sense to put dollars in this video, as many Americans might watch this as well!
Careful, T+ tickets are not valid on the RER outside of Paris and you could get a fine for the journey between Gare du Nord and La Plaine with this ticket
I see, I questioned why Matty got a photocard Oyster, and I looked it up on Internet, and there's no category that he fell into. Turns out he got a free card as GB athlete!!
