Been following you for many years but never posted a comment. Small thing but really enjoyed hearing you sing on this - yes please do more on recording. Thanks!
Ohhhhh man, I wish respect and admiration from others were so easy! 🥺🤣 I love that chord, and was floored by it when you first mentioned it some months back. Thank you Prof. Sean! Bm7b5 sounds awesome on my Alvarez Artist Elite Deluxe!...🤠
Great vid, thanks! Interestingly the same fingering also gives a 9 chord, although with the bass root note omitted. In this form it sees a bit of use in blues. Keep the vids coming!
I am pretty sure Paul Simon actually taught college courses in songwriting for a while. Very humble about his creativity and success. Thanks for posting
I really enjoy your stuff. Keep it up! Great job making fun of the salty comments. Talking about recording, I just started experimenting with recording my own stuff this summer, and I'm learning a ton. I have found mixing the tracks to be quite intimidating (I have several songs sitting in Pro Tools waiting for me to finalize their mixes), so I'd love to hear some of your process as you mix your stuff to share with others. Thanks!
Can you do a video on using a major 2 chord instead of minor in major keys and what that opens up? Or have you some one that I missed and can watch? I've been experimenting in the key of c using d major instead but I feel there's more to i can do that a simple substitute like can it open up in a key change or modulating?
Personally, I think a chord like that is better used at a more dramatic moment in a song as opposed to an intro. It's one of those chords that underscores a subtle but serious emotion. Just me. :)
I gave it some thought and have reconsidered. I thought of some songs where the chord did work in intros. "You Decorated My Life" Kenny Rodgers. The much maligned "Feelings" Morris Albert. There are others. Never mind. :)
Your stuff is so helpful and not boring but for the love of god will you please get some sort of PIP (Picture in Picture) fretboard chart that shows us finger placement like all the other people that teach guitar on RU-vid. its 2023 Sean. Please.
