Nice, thanks for sharing. It’s great how Adam uses his fantastic tai chi to support/develop/enhance his Buddhist practice. And Damo’s knowledge of neigoing is mind blowing. The two of them together is great (even with the cigars and whisky!:).

I usually don't make more than one comment for a video, but in this case, I have to. You can tell from Adam's descriptions of internal power that he has a VERY thorough understanding of the process, especially with how it affects the muscles in the human body. I love the wetsuit analogy.

Not really. He did end off with saying he thinks qi is a substance. Think of qi as a cloud you can only see with you mind’s eye.

Thanks for sharing! The 4th way is the body skill can be in the bones meaning the skeleton can produce power without strong muscular contraction by keeping peng or openness in every joint suspending the frame. This internal body doesn't need to change shape to produce power but rather rotate and moves the joints freely in a way that is connected to the spine and rooted in space. The web Adam describes is what I was taught as "meat" body but both are very internal to their approach and the bone body I was taught follows the same Taiji principles just different support points EG: in bone the knees support weight allowing the meat to hang and the meat being the middle quad allowing the bone flexing points(joints) aka "floating the bones" or dissolving the bones". CST WC uses the internal bone body exclusively and people like Nima King can demo it by showing power go through the limbs without the bicep or triceps engaging.

that would be a variation of the "physical intyernal" category.

@@DiscoverTaiji Makes sense these things are always better in 3's than 4s. Definitely still in the physical category🙏

Can mind skill be considered like leading in Aikijitsu? I attended a workshop where the teacher was very skilled in leading you off balance or framing a window that moved as you threw a punch at him. I considered that a mind trick as it was very difficult to perceive. He also used hand signals that you would catch in the corner of your eye that affected you at the last minute.

Thanks so much for posting this. Very interesting and informative. Really liked the Systema observation, that is how Mikael always presented it. Makes me wonder how this relates to hua, an, and jin. It seems those would basically be the facial, the mental, & the tangible intangible - chi in that order, but as always I could be totally wrong.😊

Great video. Is it possible to explain a bit more about the difference between what was referred to as “mind qi” method and “substance chi” method. My limited understanding to this point was that they were the same substance. But this conversation definitely challenged that perspective.

the substance is the actual qi generated among other things by healthy cells, the mind qi is the subtle energy of the mind effecting the mind and nerves. The later is more closely linked to mesmerism that true qi cultivation.

🙏 for the teaching! May I ask, about development of chi as a substance: do you offer teachings for that by chance? I'm a great admirer of your work. You make a difference.

Une question me brûle les lèvres, pour réellement obtenir de façon significative et l'affiner jours après jours la 1ère étape, est-ce possible sans intégrer les 2 autres ? De mon expérience non .
